Christian Zionism
Gary Bauer (2002)
"Some very interesting alliances are forming," said Gary Bauer, a prominent Christian conservative. "Many evangelicals believe that the land of Israel is Covenant land that was promised by God to the Jewish people. I believe Israel and the United States have got a confluence of interest. We're both democracies, and I see Israel, as I see Great Britain, as a defender of Western civilisation." "Mr Bauer, described by the Jerusalem Post as "a better spokesman for Israel than some Israeli diplomats", addressed the gathering at the Israeli embassy along with Janet Parshall, a Christian radio host." (Israel wins support on Christian Right)
W.E. Blackstone (1916) "As Israel lost the rule of their land at the beginning of these Gentile times,
it would seem that the first terminal date would mark some kind of a beginning of the restoration of the land. Does not this give great significance to the Zionist movement on the part of the Jews and to all that is now being said and done by Gentiles, to secure Palestine for the Jews, in the outcome of the present war?. . .
"How inspiring is the thought that, if 1915 or 1916 shall prove to be the first terminal date, then the nineteen years more to 1934 or 1935 may cover the end time with its whirl of events, including the reign of the "ten kings," the antichrist, the 7-year covenant, the complete destruction of Gentile government, the repentance, forgiveness, and new birth of Israel,—a nation born at once, restored; and under God’s grace and favor to become the center of a world-wide theocracy." ("The Times of the Gentiles"
The Weekly Evangel, May 13, 1916, pp. 6-9.)
George T.B. Davis (1957)
"Is the United States to be the next nation to fall from her present exalted position through her failure to help Israel in this crucial hour when she is surrounded by foes bent on her destruction?
We are standing at the crossroads at this very moment! Will our leaders believe God’s Word and take the road of blessing that will lead our nation to still greater glory and victory; or will we forsake God’s Word and take a stand against the Jews and so bring upon us terrible judgments of God as in the case of Egypt, Spain, Germany and Great Britain?" (The Sunday School Times,
1957)
Jerry Falwell " I certainly do not believe a vengeful God inspired the Roman army to surround Jerusalem and brutally slaughter hundreds of thousand of Jews. It seems to me that even then the vicious serpent of Anti-Semitism had raised its head. Satan would have liked to destroy the Jews in order to nullify God's promises to them." (Jerry Falwell and the Jews, p. 13-14)
House and
Thomas Ice
“God will keep his original promises to the fathers and will one day convert and place Israel as the head of the nations.” (House and Ice, Dominion Theology, p. 175.
Herman Hoyt
"The redeemed living nation of Israel, regenerated and regathered to the land will be head over all the nations of the earth. . . . So he exalts them above the Gentile nations. . . . On the lowest level
there are the saved, living, Gentile nations ." 15. Herman Hoyt, “Dispensational Premillennialism,” in Robert G. Clouse, The Meaning of the Millennium: Four Views (Downer’s Grove, IL: Inter-Varsity Press, 1977), p. 81.)
Martin R. DeHaan "Radio Bible Class" (1950) "Palestine, the Holy Land, is also still God’s chosen land, and there can be no peace in this world until the nation and the land, according to God’s purpose, are again fully united. Let us pray, therefore, that the leaders of the nation and our own nation may see that God is on the side of those who recognize this program." (The Jew and Palestine in Prophecy,
pp. 64-65.)
Agnes Scott Kent (1948)
"We believe there has been, very clearly, divine intervention in the U.N. vote to part the land between the Jews and Arabs—the land of Abrahamic covenant, which God’s Word declares repeatedly and unequivocally is for the Jews.
The son of the bondwoman shall not be heir with the son of the freewoman." (Evangel,
May
29, 1948,
p. 10.)
Bill Koenig
(2002)
Christian report from pro-Israel rally in D.C
"I was emotionally moved"
T. A. Lambie
(1946) "Of course the inhabitants of the land do not want them. Neither did the Canaanites of old want them, nor the Jebusites, nor any of the inhabitants of the ancient land, and yet they came and they are coming again. God has decreed it. It must be so.
Of course their right to the land can not be maintained
apart from God. And the nations as a whole reject God. The Arab people in the land do have rights
from almost every human viewpoint.
These rights can never be ruthlessly trampled under foot, and it is difficult to imagine their having a change of heart and becoming willing to admit the Jews. An irresistible force seems to be meeting an immovable body and how God’s purpose for Israel will work out in its inflexible course we can only wonder. It will be worked OUL and all that most of us can do about it is to watch, to pray, and to believe." ("Palestine Focus of World Attention"
The Sunday School Times,
May 4, 1946.)
Dwight Pentecost
"The Gentiles will be Israel’s servants during that age. . . . The Gentiles that are inthe millennium will have experienced conversion prior to admission. "
(D. Pentecost, Things to Come, p. 508.)
John Walvoord
(1959)
"Israel will be a glorious nation, protected from her enemies, exalted above the Gentiles. . . . " (The Millennial Kingdom (Grand Rapids, MI: Zondervan, 1959), p. 136.)
The Evangel
"There has been among Christian leaders a steadily growing conviction that the many reverses suffered by the United Nations in the war have had direct connection with our failure to get in step with God in His clear purpose that Palestine is for the Jews. Thus it is of highest moment that the abrogation of the infelicitous White Paper is now under official consideration." (January 2, 1943, p, 10.)
"Many friends of Israel, including earnest Christians, have petitioned our government to intervene in the affairs of the British government regarding the "White Paper," on the basis of which the British have restricted Jewish immigra-tion to Palestine.
The Voice,
however, mentions two points that should be kept in mind: (1) When it is God’s time to restore His people to the land, none will be able to prevent them. (2) The restoration in which we might help would demonstrate little kindness in view of the awful affliction awaiting them there." (July 1, 1944, p. 16.)
"As Americans we rejoice at this season over the birth of our nation; but a few weeks ago another new nation was born-the nation of Israel. And the prophet of the Lord exhorts us to rejoice over that event, for it is one of great importance. . Isa. 66:10, 12." (July 3, 1948, p. 8.)
"There are eleven million Jews in the world. I don’t say that all of them will come here, but I expect several million, and with natural increase I can quite imagine a Jewish state of ten million." The reporter asked, "Can that many be accommodated within the U.N. partition boundaries of Israel?" The Premier replied: "I doubt it." The Jews will not be satisfied until they have all the land God promised Abram-from the Nile to the Euphrates (Genesis 15: 18)." (September 4, 1948, p. 10.)
"That young nation has already fought for and won desired lands and will continually wage successful gains until God’s original promise is fulfllled completely ( "Things to Come: May 21, 1949, p. 2.)
"There has been among Christian leaders a steadily growing conviction that the many reverses suffered by the United Nations in the war have had direct connection with our failure to get in step with God in His clear purpose that Palestine is for the Jews."
(January 2, 1943, p. 10.)
"Even though there may be a temporary truce between the Moslems and Israel because of the pressure of the United Nations, this truce will in no wise change the attitude of "perpetual hatred" (Ezek. 35:5) that the Moslem nations have toward the people of Israel . . . . We are bidden, "Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: they shall prosper that love thee." Psalm 122:6. But the Holy Spirit prays: "Let them all be confounded and turned back that hate Zion." Psalm 129:5 (Stanley H. Frodsham, "Man’s Vain Attempts to Destroy Israel;’
Evangel, July
17, 1948, p. 4.)
"Today the Arabs are charging that the Jews are trespassing on land that has been Arab for centuries, Is it not more correct to say that the Arabs for centuries have been trespassing on land that God gave to the Jews millenniums ago!" (Evangel, November 5,1950, p.5.)
Christian Life (8/78 - On how to make one's witness believable) "Join or form a group that supports Israel and informs Christians about Jewish life and customs. Become informed about the issues and problems in the Middle East . . . from the Israel Ministry of Information. (Non-Israeli sources not suggested.) Consider the purchase of Israeli bonds. Write letters . . . to the editors. Buy Israeli products. Encourage tourism in Israel and visit the land yourself as often as possible. Learn some Hebrew. Get acquainted with Your local synagogue, . . . . Pray for the peace of Jerusalem."
Moody Monthly We have been told that 5,000 Arabs have left Beersheba, an Israeli city, and that perhaps eventually more from all over Israel will leave. Room must be made for the ten or fifteen thousand Jewish immigrants arriving every month. We not only hope, but judging from the attitude of the Jews in the land, feel certain that the exit of more Arabs will not cause too great a hardship and loss to them." (Coulson Shepherd, "The Unholy Holy Land:
Moody Monthly,
LI (July, 1951), 718.
The Sunday School Times
"War seems inevitable and the extension of Israel’s borders as a result is probably unavoidable." (Frederick A. Tatford, "Bible Light on Recent Events in the Middle East;

4/2008:
Christian Zionist
Leader Hagee in Unprecedented Appearance at Reform Temple
"When Rabbi Woznica asked the Reverend if he was a literalist, he said
that he was and that he did believe that the world was really created in
six days and that Noah’s ark was real. On the other hand, in response to
a follow-up question from Rabbi Woznica, Reverend Hagee said that he
does not believe a Sabbath-breaker ought to be stoned to death,
referring to Biblical laws as ‘word pictures’ that indicate
‘principles.’'
3/2008:
John McCain accepts endorsement of Hagee "John McCain is so anxious
to get the support of the Theopublicans that he is jumping into bed with
some pretty loony individuals. This short report on his endorsement from
televangelist John Hagee is one example. Hagee is a proponent of the
dulusional theory of "dispensationalism" which was invented in England
by John Darby in the 1800s. Darby brought his theology to America where
a large percentage of fundamentalists embraced it with enthusiasm. One
result of dispensationalism is that American fundamentalists are more
Zionist than the Zionists themselves -- as you will see here."
1/2008: Bill Berkowitz -
Christian Zionists Feel
Betrayed by Bush's Road Map "Their anger revolves around both the future
status of Jerusalem and whether a peace agreement lessens the chances for a
preemptive strike against Iran. While Bush appeared to reassure Christian
Zionists that Iran was "the world's leading state-sponsor of terror", the issue
of Jerusalem remained disconcerting. Rosenberg appears confident that even
if a peace deal is struck, it will not necessarily be contradictory to Biblical
prophesy: "While...Matthew 24 and Luke 21 indicate that there will be wars,
rumors of wars and revolutions in the Middle East in the last days, Ezekiel 38
also indicates that for a season at least the Jews will be living 'securely' in
the land prior to the apocalyptic War of Gog & Magog (the Russian-Iranian
alliance to destroy Israel)."
2007: Joshua Mitnick -
Evangelicals’ New Reach In Jewish Agency Criticized "Rabbi
Eckstein.. said that until now Jewish groups have been happy to accept IFGC
funding and now the group is receiving the recognition it deserves. "It feels
like we’re losing control," said Rabbi Haim Dov Beliak, a co-founder of the Web
site Jews on First, which criticizes the growing influence of the Christian
right and Christian Zionist groups in America. "Those who will be in charge of
the Zionist enterprise will not be Jews, but the senior partners with the most
money,"
2006: Paul Findley -
Control of US Policies by the Israeli Lobby
"The two groups make strange bedfellows. Judaic doctrine
makes no mention of Jesus Christ. Christian Zionists, in a
radical interpretation of the Bible’s Book of Revelations,
believe that on the Second Coming of Christ, all people of
the Judaic faith will instantly be destroyed or converted to
Christianity. They are bound tightly together by an
immediate interest– survival of a strong, expanding Israel
as an essential precondition for the arrival on earth of
their separate messiahs."

Gary DeMar , M.Div., American Vision, Powder Springs, GA "At the heart of the political commitments in question are two fatally flawed propositions. First, some are teaching that God's alleged favor toward Israel today is based upon ethnic descent rather than upon the grace of Christ alone, as proclaimed in the Gospel. Second, others are teaching that the Bible's promises concerning the land are fulfilled in a special political region or "Holy Land," perpetually set apart by God for one ethnic group alone. "

Coalition, Kay Arthur of Precept Ministries, Jane Hanson of Women's Aglow,

The
Iron Fist of Jesus - "Fundamentalist
Christians, adherents to a nauseating
perversion of Christianity (conjured from their twisted imaginations and
their distorted interpretations of the Bible) wield a significant amount
of power in the United States, socially and politically.
In
short, Fundamentalist Christians are the people whom the real Jesus would have hammered with
his Iron Fist, if he had had one, and
if he had been inclined to use it. Fortunately for them, Warrior Jesus
is simply a myth the Christo-Fascist masters use to keep their minions
in line. Unfortunately for the rest of us, America's
religious extremists are as dangerous as those in the Middle East and
around the globe. Just in case there is an Iron Fisted Jesus and an
impending Rapture, I am signing off by wishing you a Merry Christmas!"
-
Christian Zionism and the Palestinian State "America is slowly realizing that it is the American Zionists – Christians and Jewish – that actually prefer Israel to America. They conspired to conscript the U.S. government on behalf of a foreign power. They lied, deceived and planned to take America into a spiral war - the Iraqi invasion being the first of that long list of yet-to-take dirty wars - to apparently secure and strengthen the rogue state of Israel."
Letters to the Editor on "The Gods Must Be Crazy" "After reading this excellent article, now I understand. And I'm scared to death. These radical evangelical Christians actually believe that the faster we destroy the earth and our environment, the faster the "second coming of Christ" will happen. I no longer believe in a "second coming" (although I do believe in God and an afterlife, just not in the black-and-white way that fundamentalists view it). But with 50 million Americans, according to this article, and 231 U.S. senators and representatives believing in this crazy "End Times" theology, all working to hasten the end of the earth, they just might pull the rest of us along with them down the path of environmental destruction and the end of the ability of the earth to sustain life."
CounterCurrents:
Christian
Zionism: Terror in Jesus' Name - "Christian Zionism is a call for
global war. The belief that Christianity is the sole truth, that all
other faiths are 'Satanic' or 'false', that the Jews must all gather in
Palestine to fulfil so-called Biblical prophecies, and that a grand
global war will soon erupt leading to the massacre of hundreds of
millions and heralding the 'second coming' of Jesus, who will establish
his Christian kingdom extending till the four corners of the world,
clearly indicate the hate-driven, global expansionist project of
Christian Zionism. "

Mixing Prophecy and Politics in the Holy Land - Jane Lampman for CSM
"Ray Sanders and his wife, Sharon, grew up on farms in the American
Midwest, but Israel has long been their home. Their journey began in the
1970s, when they read Hal Lindsey's apocalyptic bestseller, "The Late
Great Planet Earth," which laid out a scenario for the end of the world
according to a literal interpretation of Bible prophecies. "That
awakened our understanding to Israel and its prophetic role in the Last
Days," Mr. Sanders explains in his spacious Jerusalem office. "That was
a real paradigm shift in our lives." -- (Premillennial
Dispensationalism) divides history into eras (dispensations) based on a
complex interpretation of biblical texts in books such as Daniel,
Ezekiel, and Revelation.
Most
other Christian groups view these prophecies as predictions fulfilled
long ago or as visions with a purely symbolic or spiritual meaning.
But premillennialists insist they will occur on earth in the future."

Absolute insanity! Learn Hebrew? "Educate" Christians about "Jewish life?" Rebuild the temple, start the sacrifices over again, and deny that Christ did away with the Old Covenant? Deny that Christ called Jews (Judaism) snakes and vipors? Believe that the racist, perverted Babylonian teachings in the Talmud are in line with the Holy Scriptures? These examples are of my ill-informed brothers and sisters in Christ who labor with fairy tales and live in the lands of pixies and magical potions. You can count me out!

Christian "zionism" is the bane prophesied of by Jesus Christ, and revealed
by John in the revelation. Jesus said...."as in the days of Noe, so shall it
be". In the days of Noe, AFTER the flood (2 Pet.2:5, Rev.12:15) "THE TOWER
OF BABEL WAS BUILT". Zionism is that evil 'unclean spirit' that pervaded the
IMAGINATIONS (Gen.6:5) of men before and after the flood. Jesus was "the
Prophet" told to Moses who would come after him (Deut.18) Thus, these verses
apply to AFTER CHRISTS DEATH as well.......
De 31:27 For I know thy rebellion, and thy stiff neck: behold, while I am
yet alive with you this day, ye have been rebellious against the LORD; and
how much more after my death?
De 31:29 For I know that after my death ye will utterly corrupt yourselves,
and turn aside from the way which I have commanded you; and evil will befall
you in the latter days; because ye will do evil in the sight of the LORD, to
provoke him to anger through the work of your hands.
and the apostles confirm....
2Ti 3:13 But evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving, and
being deceived.
and prophets........
Da 12:10 Many shall be purified, and made white, and tried; but the wicked
shall do wickedly: and none of the wicked shall understand; but the wise
shall understand.
Right in the middle of history, christ came and brought the gospel and THE
KINGDOM, that 2000 years ago. What your seeing now is the witness against
'unbelief', by the unbelievers themselves and its testament is ZIONISM.
Everything under its power is being MADE into....
Re 3:9 Behold, I will make them of the synagogue of Satan, which say they
are Jews, and are not, but do lie; behold, I will make them to come and
worship before thy feet, and to know that I have loved thee
Just as Jesus said!!!

Christian Zionist Enable Serial Wars. As violence continues to esculate throughout the Middle East, Israel's 'amen
corner' in America becomes increasingly more vocal in their support of the
neocons' current and planned serial wars upon the Arab and Muslim people of
that region. Among the war-mongers greatest allies in those genocidal wars
are the millions of evangelical Christians who have been duped into
believing that the modern Jewish state of Israel represents fulfillment of
Bible prophecy when God's 'chosen people' would be regathered in Canaan land
of old. Their warped interpretation of Bible prophecy concerning the people
and future of that region is based upon an acceptance of the false and
dangerous notions that "Jews are God's Chosen People", that "Jesus was a
Jew", and that the terms "Semite", "Hebrew", "Israelite", and "Jews" can be
used interchangeably. This intented confusion has spawned a new religious cult called, at various
times, "Darbyism", "Premillennialism", "Dispensationalism", and most
recently, "Christian-Zionism". Millions of Christians have been seduced to
this proselyte religion thanks to the Scofield Bible, rapture theories, Left
Behind fictions, and Da Vinci Code propaganda. If you really want to
understand end-time prophecies, read the many parables which Christ taught
his disciples. |
