SOME DISTINCTIVE DOCTRINES OF SYSTEMATIZED
HYPER PRETERISM
It is important to keep in mind that many ideas and doctrines
full preterism appeals to - such as the complete end of the Old
Covenant world in AD70 - are by no means distinctive to that view.
Many non HyPs believe this as well, so one need not embrace the Hyper
Preterist system in order to endorse this view. Following
are exceptional doctrines which, so far as I've seen, are only taught by

Habitats of New Jerusalem

- Habitats of New Jerusalem
I would like share my little study about New Jerusalem. This study is inspired by the conversation on
PreteristVision Board. I asked “who are the outsiders?” GW replied me, if you will know who are the habitats you will know who are outside.
Please notice the harsh words for the outsiders. These are wicked people. My original question was for this topic: The description of Revelation 22 does feed ALL PEOPLE on the earth? There are only christians, the habitats of New Jerusalem and the wicked people outside? Where does live my mother who is an atheist and did nothing wicked in her life? Where do live my friend, who is a pantheist and conservationist? They are all dogs, liers, murderers? It can be possible that the picture of heavenly Jerusalem is not ongoing but a covenantal event? Let we try study this description….
- Who can enter into the holy city?
Rev. 22.14 KJV: Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city.- NAS: Blessed are those who wash their robes, so that they may have the right to the tree of life, and may enter by the gates into the city.
- [1] “washing robes” is connected with the great tribulation, the white garment is the common phrase to describe first century saints and the inheritors of the promise of salvation.
| Joh. 13.34 A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another. Isa. 61.10 I will greatly rejoice in the LORD, my soul shall be joyful in my God; for he hath clothed me with the garments of salvation, he hath covered me with the robe of righteousness, as a bridegroom decketh himself with ornaments, and as a bride adorneth herself with her jewels. Rev. 7.14 And I said unto him, Sir, thou knowest. And he said to me, These are they which came out of great tribulation, and have washed their robes, and made them white in the blood of the Lamb. Rev. 3.5 He that overcometh, the same shall be clothed in white raiment; and I will not blot out his name out of the book of life, but I will confess his name before my Father, and before his angels. | | Rev. 22.17 And the Spirit and the bride say, Come. And let him that heareth say, Come. And let him that is athirst come. And whosoever will, let him take the water of life freely. [1] who is athirst: in common sense everyone who “thirsteth for God”. Notice the verse Jn. 7.38-39. The flowing rivers of living water means the outpouring of Holy Ghost at Pentecost. | Psa. 42.2 My soul thirsteth for God, for the living God: when shall I come and appear before God? Amo. 8.11 Behold, the days come, saith the Lord GOD, that I will send a famine in the land, not a famine of bread, nor a thirst for water, but of hearing the words of the LORD Mat. 5.6 Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled. Joh. 4.14 But whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life. Joh. 7.38 He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water. 39 (But this spake he of the Spirit, which they that believe on him should receive: for the Holy Ghost was not yet given; because that Jesus was not yet glorified.) |
- Who are outside?
| Rev. 22.15 For without are dogs, and sorcerers, and whoremongers, and murderers, and idolaters, and whosoever loveth and maketh a lie. [1] dogs: used by Jesus described the non jews but it is more likely about jewish priesthood who did not done their job – watch and guard, please notice Isa. 56.10. [2] sorcerers: in common sense persons who are magicians. Notice that the sorcererers in the NT are magicians and false prophets in the same time, they are jews and trying pervert the truth of Christ [3] murderers: notice Acts 7.51, where all jews who denied Christ called murderer. It is connected to the image “your father the devil”. Devil is the father of the lie “Jesus it not the Messiah” and father of the prophets’ murderer. [4] idolaters, whoremongers: Col. 3.5 defines idiolatry, it is “fornication, uncleanness, inordinate affection, evil concupiscence, and covetousness”. The most recent idiolatry in that time is “worshiping the image of the beast”, “worshipping the idols of gold, and silver, and brass, and stone, and of wood” (Rev. 9.20). Another idiolatry is the continuing the old system food sacrifice. This was forbidden for the gentiles and a jew who encourage a gentile to eat “meat to the idols” is guilty, “But when ye sin so against the brethren, and wound their weak conscience, ye sin against Christ.” (1Co. 8.12) Notice in 1Co. 5.11 that Paul spoke against idolaters and fornificators in the Church not in the whole word – they are judged by God. [5] who love and maketh a lie: literally no one can enter into the Holy City who tell ever the smallest lie. But it is true? Every man a lier in comparision to God. (Rom. 3.4) It is a “covenantal lie”, who does not belive God gave His Son is a liar. Please notice 1Jn 5.10. Who denies Jesus, is the antichrist, the liar according to 1Jn. 2.22. Another lies in the NT: claiming we are not sinners (1Jn. 1.10), who know but don’t keep His commandments (1Jn. 2.4) | [1] Isa. 56.10 His watchmen are blind: they are all ignorant, they are all dumb dogs, they cannot bark; sleeping, lying down, loving to slumber. 11 Yea, they are greedy dogs which can never have enough, and they are shepherds that cannot understand: they all look to their own way, every one for his gain, from his quarter. 12 Come ye, say they, I will fetch wine, and we will fill ourselves with strong drink; and to morrow shall be as this day, and much more abundant. [2] Act. 13.6 And when they had gone through the isle unto Paphos, they found a certain sorcerer, a false prophet, a Jew, whose name was Barjesus: Act. 13.10 And said, O full of all subtilty and all mischief, thou child of the devil, thou enemy of all righteousness, wilt thou not cease to pervert the right ways of the Lord? [3] Joh. 8.44 Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it. Act. 7.51 Ye stiffnecked and uncircumcised in heart and ears, ye do always resist the Holy Ghost: as your fathers did, so do ye. 52 Which of the prophets have not your fathers persecuted? and they have slain them which shewed before of the coming of the Just One; of whom ye have been now the betrayers and murderers: [4] Eph. 5.5 For this ye know, that no whoremonger, nor unclean person, nor covetous man, who is an idolater, hath any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God. Rev. 2.14 But I have a few things against thee, because thou hast there them that hold the doctrine of Balaam, who taught Balac to cast a stumblingblock before the children of Israel, to eat things sacrificed unto idols, and to commit fornication. 1Co. 5.11 But now I have written unto you not to keep company, if any man that is called a brother be a fornicator, or covetous, or an idolater, or a railer, or a drunkard, or an extortioner; with such an one no not to eat. 12 For what have I to do to judge them also that are without? do not ye judge them that are within? 13 But them that are without God judgeth. Therefore put away from among yourselves that wicked person. Col. 3.5 Mortify therefore your members which are upon the earth; fornication, uncleanness, inordinate affection, evil concupiscence, and covetousness, which is idolatry [5] 1Jo. 5.10 He that believeth on the Son of God hath the witness in himself: he that believeth not God hath made him a liar; because he believeth not the record that God gave of his Son. 1Jo. 2.22 Who is a liar but he that denieth that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist, that denieth the Father and the Son. |

Poor old Paul had the idea that "all have sinned" (Ro. 3:23) but the author knows people who never did anything wicked in their lives. Obviously, people in that special category don't need a Savior.

Thanks for this kind statements which I din't make. Clear that 1Jn. 1.10 and 2.4 allow only two categories also today. Interesting conversation would be to dig deeper who passed the gates. Mar. 12.31 And the second is like, namely this, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. There is none other commandment greater than these.

The first-century Israelites were eagerly awaiting a Messiah who would fulfill OT prophecies by leading them to victory over the Roman Empire so that the Messiah and his followers could rule over the world from the city of Jerusalem in place of the emperor and his followers who ruled over the world from the city of Rome. The new and spiritual Jerusalem descended to earth in the first century (Rev. 21:2) when that (spiritual, not natural) triumph occurred -- which was NOT in AD 70.

A few verses to picture "dogs": [1] Psa. 22.16 For dogs have compassed me: the assembly of the wicked have inclosed me: they pierced my hands and my feet. [2] Phi. 3.2 Beware of dogs, beware of evil workers, beware of the concision. [3] Mat. 23.13 But woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye shut up the kingdom of heaven against men: for ye neither go in yourselves, neither suffer ye them that are entering to go in.

It's utterly ridiculous to ignore the first-century, Christ-rejecting, emperor-worshiping Roman Empire (spiritual Babylon -- the world) and to claim that first-century, Christ-rejecting Jerusalem (spiritual Egypt) was the ONLY enemy that had to be overcome before Christ's parousia. And it's utterly demeaning to claim that the necessary triumph over Jerusalem was a natural one achieved by Titus, the son of the Roman emperor, in AD 70 rather than a spiritual one achieved by Christ, the Son of God, in AD 30. Wake up, preterists!

I agree. Older preterist articles contain "the beast of land and the beast of water" but some already forgot this picture. - Gabor

Correct typology makes everything clear. The typifying natural redemption of the OT, natural Israelites was not completed until God enabled them to overcome the natural dominion of the natural usurpers in their promised land (tiny Canaan) AFTER the 40 wilderness years, and so the spiritual redemption of the NT, spiritual Israelites (the church) was not completed until God enabled them to overcome the spiritual dominion of the spiritual usurpers in their promised land (the world - Ro. 4:13; Gal 3:29) AFTER the 40 years AD 30-70. The kingdom (spiritual reign) of God did not come on earth as in heaven (Mt. 6:10) until the gospel preached by the young church overcame the usurping spiritual dominion of first-century Rome, which was the worldwide enforcement of the blasphemous practice of emperor worship. Preterists' misunderstanding of Lk. 21:22 prevents them from understanding that fact.

Add re: typology above -- The typifying blessings of natural (temporary) life promised to the natural Israelites (Dt. 30:15-20) were not received until God enabled them to overcome, through the use of their natural weapons, the natural usurpers in Canaan AFTER the 40 wilderness years, and so the incomparably greater blessings of spiritual (eternal) life promised to the spiritual Israelites (the church) were not received until God enabled them to overcome, through the use of their spiritual weapons, the spiritual usurpers in the world AFTER the 40 years AD 30-70.

Amazing! Preterists shamelessly claim that God continued to honor animal sacrifices for 40 years after the sacrificial death of Christ!
