What do YOU think ?
CommentsSo let me get this straight.. Posting an article about not posting articles anymore? heheh
CommentsArticle writing is a form of evangelism. Why wouldn't you offer your materials to whoever wishes to sow the seeds? Todd's site is public domain, I know..
CommentsLike so many so-called teachers and believers these days, Mr. Linton is evidently more concerned with "religious correctness" rather than Biblical Truth!-- Bud Fleisher
CommentsCareful examination of the scripture shows Cyrus to be the who chosen by God to order the decree to let the captives go and rebuild the city (see Isaiah 45:1-3,13 - also - Isaiah 44:24,28-45:1-4). To solidify the case, read Ezra 1:1-3, and 2 Chronicles 36:22-23). Although I agree the 70 weeks is fulfilled, Linton has the wrong decree. Actually what bothered me is the disclaimer at the end of his article about not being preterist due to a single verse in Acts. If he cares to look, Randoph Otto has amply handled Acts 1:11, and Kenneth Davies does a fine job with this as well. There is no physical levitation in Acts 1:11. Keep looking Linton.
CommentsWhy not Minot?
CommentsPerhaps, it is because few, non-preterists visit here and what he says will be misrepresented and he will not have the opportunity to defend the barrage of "rebuttals".
CommentsI am a woman who was recently introduced to Preterism a few weeks ago. I have been reading a lot about this subject from Men, but I was wondering about the women. Are there any out there? It seems to me if this Preterist view is correct, we should be walking a much more focused and victorious Christian life. At least I think that's true for me. I get the time lines and the scripture/prophesy tie ins. Where are the stories and examples of how Preterism is working in our day to day lives? I'm not trying to be feministic asking about the women, but men and women see and process things differently. I think I would be more encouraged to know that there are people living in the fullness of what it means or what it looks like to walk in this Preterist position. I think I'd like here some testimonies. Can you help me?
CommentsTo all preterists, You have created a theoligy out of one verse taken out of context. Luke 21:32 is qualified by verse 31 to be the generation that sees verse 20 and all that follows. Not the generation He was speaking to but the generation that sees these things will be the final generation. Which verifies that these things have not occurred yet or we would not be here. There remains a final obliteration of earthly Jerusalem by the beast and if we see it we will be the final generation. Rev 17:16-18. And try to be a little more loving or the world won't know you are Jesus Christ's desciples. Preterists, My personal observations of what I see on preterists web sites. The fact that they have named themselves is the first clue. They appear to be a select group of people who have the same delusion. What they falsely call knowledge has puffed them up into a premier sect of name calling imature people. What I don't see is a relationship with Jesus Christ which would account for their mis interpretation of scripture. A description of the preterist sect is found in Galatians 5:19-21 The works of the flesh are: hatred, contentions, jealousies, outbursts of wrath, selfish ambitions, dissension, heresies. If you look at preterist web sites you will find all of these. Jesus was none of these! The question is, who are you following? Thank you for the use of your website. Rnursall@msn.com
CommentsIn Matthew 24:30,31,1Corinthians15:23and 1Thessalonians 4:15-17 , Jesus has made it very clear that the resurrection will occur at His second coming. That being the case if the second coming has already occured then where is the apostle Paul? Who said he would take part in the resurrection. Where is Abraham Isaac and Jacob? Where is Gideon, David, Noah, Shadrach Meshach and Ahbednigo? If the second coming has already occurred all of these people would have been resurrected. There is only one second coming of Jesus and it has not occurred yet, nor has many other things that are yet to be fulfilled and the truth about our resurrection. Rnursall@msn.com
CommentsCan either side explain Matthew 27:51-53 wasn't there some sort of resurection of the saints when Christ died on the cross? Where is there any mention of that in Prophecy of the end times? There is no mention of a rapture or calling of others at that time, Christ himself hadn't even resurrected at this point. I find it difficult at times to know what to believe, especially when both sides can put up a good argument. Christ assured the disciples "Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me. In my fathers house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am there may ye be also. And whither I go ye know, and the way ye know. John 14: 1-4 KJV. Seems simple enough to me Love one another and worship the Lord. The mysteries of Heaven have only been revealed to Christ and he taught the Disciples all that they needed and they were at times still confused. There is nothing wrong with studying the word of God, it's arguing the word of God that confuses people. Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. But shun profane and vain babblings: for they will increase into more ungodliness.
Comments1 Corithians 15:20 NIV speaks of the first fruits who have died are raised with Christ. Matthew states that after Christ's resurrection they entered the Holy City which is in heaven. 1 Corinthians 15:23 tells us that the first fruits are resurrected after Christ Jesus and when He returns He will resurrect the rest of us who are not first fruits. The first fruits are the 144,000 apostles and prophets of the Lord Jesus. That is why Paul said for (me) to die is gain: to depart and be with Jesus. For (me) to remain is better for (you). Phillipians 1:21-24 Paul was speaking as an apostle not as a believer. I am not a preterist I am a Christian. www.Yeshuaskingdom.org |
