One of the differences between the preterist camps is due to a very simple mistake when looking at the answers that Christ gave in Matthew 24. As many today make the same mistake, as I also did until it was pointed out to me. The Disciples misunderstood what Jesus was saying as indicated by the answer Christ gave them. I'll get back to this but first, the time in establishing when Revelation was written. I at one time thought that the figure in my Bible was correct as to the approximate time they gave which was around 85 AD but when careful consideration to what the scripture itself says, not our relatively contemporary scholars point of veiw, it was written before 70 AD. When you see that Rev 17 :10 says that the Revelation John was receiving was during the reign of the sixth King. Five have fallen, one is, and the other has not yet come, and when he comes he must continue a short time. The count begins with Julius then Augustus, Tiberius, Coligula, Claudius, Nero (one is), Golba (the other has not yet come). That puts the time when the Revelation was seen by John at 64 AD. As a side note even though Josephus was not inspired as scripture was he is a very good source for historical data. He recognized the second King as Augustus and the third as Tiberius. Even though Julius was not technically a King, the Jews recognized him as the Emperor (who's face do you see on the coin? Then render to Caesar...). The one who has not yet come, Golba, remained a short time...7 months. Once the correct time of Revelation is established it begins to make all the sense in the world. If it was after 70 AD then the Jews would be correct in waiting for a rebuilt Temple and a restored Roman Empire. As established by the correct count according to scripture, the events that occurred were all that was needed to fulfill the prophetic word. In Mark 11 :12 -14 Jesus curses the tree for making display but having no fruit, just as He will judge the temple in (verses 15 -17) and predict its destruction (13 :2). He says, " Let no one eat fruit from you ever again". And His disciples heard it. The disciples standing there with Jesus in Matthew 24 understood what He was saying concerning the Temple but what was so hard for them to accept was how could this be, that is, the destruction of the Temple that Christ told His contemporary listeners standing there. Jesus in Matthew 24 verse 2 was being very clear to the disciples. He said; "Do you not see all these things? Assuredly, I say to you, not one stone shall be left upon another, that shall not be thrown down." There is no way to side step the issue. The Temple is in their view as He is talking to them. The next thing that happens is now the Disciples are found doing some quick recalculation on what it must mean. They know that Jesus means what He is saying, they trust Him and know He is the Son of God. They were considering their misunderstanding about what the prophet said about an everlasting Temple so He must mean the end of the world as we know it. Here is where the scripture shows that they did not have a correct understanding about when would these things be and the end of the age.As they are sitting on the Mount of Olives they are saying tell us. When will these things be, and what will be the sign of Your coming, and of the end of the age? The Disciples believing that these events are to be concurrent, understood the sign of His coming to be with reference to the end of the age and to be equivalent to the sign of the destruction of the Temple. They thought it was all pointing to the same thing. In other words they believed that the coming destruction of the Temple was to occur at the second coming of the Lord. One of the errors that many make today is if He is not coming until after the Temple is rebuilt and the sacrificial system is reinstituted, and the Roman Empire regain power, that there is no need to hurry and to be ready for His return. Here is where the question must be divided to make it clear. John the Baptist said the axe is already laid at the root of the trees and ready to fall. Jesus in Matthew 24 tells when and how it is going to fall. What is essential to the answer Jesus gives is to see how He separates what the Disciples had united. Jesus separates the destruction of the Temple from the end time or the end of the Messianic age. He divides their wrongly worded question. First He speaks of the when and sign that is to precede this destruction and then secondly He speaks of the when of related matters of the end of the messianic age which would occur when Jesus comes again a second time, visibly, at the end of the age. The first of these, the destruction of Jerusalem is the content of Matthew 24 :4 - 35, and then the end time, the second coming, forms the content of Matthew 24 :36 through the end of chapter 25. To survey in a broad sweep the answer that Jesus gave we have to take note of the prejudice predisposition. Secondly,we have to look at the Word of God and see what that says in contrast to their prejudice predisposition. Finally to take note of histories Amen, the confirmation of history. The prejudice predisposition is a bias both then and now about what these things meant. Just think of how many times you have heard something and how many people sense something is true because they hear it so many times without really questioning what they have heard and it becomes popular opinion about something. For instance, politicians have propagandized issues of taxation. They say that a wealthy individual is not paying his fair share if the three times the amount he is paying over an individual that has less, is reduced to two times the amount. That has been pumped into some peoples minds for so long and with their own covetous predisposition think, yeah, that sounds right. Or the issue of what is religious Vs governmental as to what has separation or authority. What would you have assumed when you read Matthew 24 and Jesus speaks of false Christ's, wars and roomers of wars, famines, earthquakes, the gospel preached to all the nations, the abomination of desolation tied in with Daniel, the great tribulation, false prophets, the son and moon darken, stars falling from heaven and the Son of Man coming on the clouds. If you have not gone deeply in on this it will be at best a superficial understanding. The church of our day has been predisposed to thinking that these verses in Matthew all pertain to the second coming. Jesus closes the first part of His answer with a definitive pronouncement in Matthew 24 :34 He says "Truly I say to you,(present tense) THIS generation (not That) will by no means pass away till all these things take place". All of the problems we face with today's scholars would be corrected if we let this verse have its natural meaning. This is an issue of will we take Jesus at His word. If we do not then what we are doing is trying to force the text of God's word to the system rather than the opposite. I of course am not saying that the brethren that do this are insincere. Here is a case where the opponents say that you need to take the word of God literally but here verse 34 not to take it literally. The debate centers on the meaning of the word generation. If I were to say that within a generation, every American home will be on the information super highway, you would understand what I mean by the time reference of within a generation. Your not thinking I am prophesying something 2000 years from now. Anyone that holds to the understanding that Matthew 24 is unfulfilled prophecy has to find a new meaning of the word generation. The normal alleged solution would say that here in this place that the meaning of generation means race or Israel. That He is not talking about the contemporary people standing before Him.The only place in scripture where generation (ganea) is used as race is in contrast to other nations. A comparison that need not go beyond the contemporary generation. In Matthew's gospel it is only employed of a contemporary people as we would use it. There is no overwhelming evidence that would give this a rare meaning. It is used as the contemporary generation then living. A generation is 40 years. My opponents agree the meaning of generation but in order to make their system work they say," but here it must mean something else". Further more we have the added grammatical argument when the demonstrative pronoun (this) is used. It doesn't say a generation. It says THIS generation. THIS underscores the temporal contemporary nature of it. This generation, not some future generation. Only a necessity arising from a wrong view of prophecy would cause reasonable men to alter the word in this particular area. The argument does not hinge on grammatical correctness only but also upon what we find in the word itself. In Matthew 23 Jesus denounced the Pharisees for their hypocrisy. In 23 :32 He said," Fill up the measure, then, the measure of your fathers guilt". Jesus is indicating their sin for the cup was full. Then in verse 35 His judgment. That on you may come all the righteous blood shed on earth, from the blood of righteous Abel to the blood of Zechariah, son of Berechiah, whom you murdered between the temple and the alter. Then verse 36 ; "Assuredly, I say to you,all these things will happen upon THIS generation." The cup of iniquity was filled by that generation by the reaction to the Savior. Their utter wickedness towards the Lord. Luke 19:44 Jesus weeps over Jerusalem. He says ; "they will not leave in you one stone upon another, because you did not know the time of your visitation." The debt of sin was due upon them. Matthew 23 :37 Jesus laments over Jerusalem. He says, " O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, the one who kills the prophets and stones those who are sent to her! How often I wanted to gather your children together, as a hen gathers her chicks under her wings, but you were not willing! See! Your house ( is ) left to you desolate ; for I say to you, you shall see Me no more till you say, Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord!" We must always be careful that we never pervert the clear scripture meaning in order to promote our personal point of view. There is an absolute need to view the scripture in context to the whole. the moment we take scripture out of its present context it quickly becomes perverted, even though not purposely. Most can not relate to anywhere in history where what is spoken of is clearly seen and so conclude that He must be talking about some distant event in the future. In Luke 23 : 28 - 30.Jesus says,"Daughters of Jerusalem,do not weep for Me, but weep for yourselves and for your children. For indeed the days are coming in which they will say, " Blessed are the barren, wombs that never bore, and the breasts which never nursed!" "Then they will begin to say to the mountains, Fall on us! and to the hills, Cover us!" For if they do these things in the green wood, what will be done in the dry?" The daughters of Jerusalem can not be a people 2000 years into the future. It is clear who is under judgment. So when Jesus says this generation, He means this generation. Before these people have all died off these things are going to come upon this generation. With a quick review. When Jesus prophesied the destruction of the temple, the disciples responded to Him with the question of when, and implied it would be at His second coming. Jesus is willing to answer the question but He divides the question. There is judgment upon Jerusalem and the temple. This generation, and the second coming at the end of the age,(future generation). Of this future generation He says in verse 36 of Matthew 24, But of (THAT) day and hour no one knows. Here He has given them an answer as to when all these things will take place but as to the second coming no one but the Father knows. He has answered their questions not as they asked but as they should have asked if they understood correctly that these were clearly two separate and distinct times. Histories AMEN: Looking back at history ask the question, what if Jerusalem had not been destroyed? What if the temple had not been left without one stone atop of another as was prophesied would happen? We would have to think that Jesus must have meant something else. The obvious question is whether there was an event in the history of that generation to be proportionate to the language of that prophesy of the first half of Matthew 24. If we go back into Old Testament language, the terminology of that language was commonly understood by the contemporary people of that day. They, being very well versed and emersed in their meanings. If this makes sense as you check these things out we could get into the meanings that are in Revelation. They heavily weigh in Old Testament definition. I don't know if you are familiar with Gentry but he stated," That if the great tribulation refers to the fall of Jerusalem in AD 70, then all futurist interpretations collapse. So does pessimism created by an eschatology of a predestined defeat." Josephus was a Jew, and a Priest. He was not inspired by the Holy Spirit but was an eye witness to the events and is a valuable source of information. In one of his works entitled The War Of The Jews, a work that was written in AD 75. He states his position in reference to all this," Whereas the war which the Jews made with the Romans hath been the greatest of those not only that has been in our time but in a manner of those that ever were heard of, both of those where in cities have fought against cities and nations against nations". What he is saying is that there has never been a war like this one. According to Josephus this resulted in 1100 thousand deaths or 1.1 million. Other historians concur with approximate number of human lives lost. 97,000 were captured. Then there was such a famine that destroyed more steadily. Then the Romans set fire to the city and entirely demolished it. Just 35 years earlier Jesus prophesied that all of these things were to come upon them, and it did. Jesus wanted them to understand that the fulfillment would occur in their lifetime. We wait the conversion of the Jews and the second coming of our Lord. These events are a foreshadow of coming events. What significance is there for us today? As we live we have time to prepare. Today is the day of salvation. The great day of the Lord is His victory of destroying death. All men are defeated by the preaching of the gospel. In Isaiah 9:6 ,7 The end is one of total victory." For unto us a child is born,Unto us a Son is given; And the government will rest upon His shoulder, And His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. Of the increase of His government and peace there will be no end, Upon the throne of David and over His kingdom, To order it and establish it with judgment and justice From that time forward, even forever. The zeal of the Lord of hosts will accomplish it. All that occurred is a warning to us and for instruction. I have to ask myself that if I had been there at that time would I have listened to the warnings? Would I have fled to the mountains as commanded? It applies to us today. We are to heed His warnings with fear and trembling working out our salvation. We are called to not only a general repentance but specific repentance as well. We are warned that if we do not want Jesus as Lord and repent as well, He says to us, "Do not weep for Me but weep for yourselves". He has conquered death. That is what all of this is about. He is victorious and He lacks in nothing. He has fulfilled His promise of vindication. This is why we have to be careful to not try to explain our end by a newspaper exegesis. We stand too close. We have to stand back to get the picture and whatever events we see must be examined only by what God said He would do. We see a tiny segment of history, that which we are a part of but the Lord sees all of it, history, past, present and future as if it were ever before Him. We need to determine whether we will be like the Jews of old or whether we will heed the warnings and come to Jesus. We have a benefit of learning from what happened in history. We need to be ready for when He comes a second time. 1 Corinthians 15 : 53 - 56 for this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality. So when this corruptible has put on incorruption, and this mortality has put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written: " Death is swallowed up in victory." " O Death, where is your sting? O Hades, where is your victory?" The sting of death is sin, and the strength of sin is the law. But thanks be to God, who gives us victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. In Him,JC

Part II.-The Descent of Messiah into Hell

Greek Form.

Chapter I (17).

Joseph says: And why do you wonder that Yahshua has risen? But it is wonderful that He has not risen alone, but that He has also raised many others of the dead who have appeared in Jerusalem to many.1 And if you do not know the others, Symeon at least, who received Yahshua, and his two sons whom He has raised up-them at least you know. For we buried them not long ago; but now their tombs are seen open and empty, and they are alive, and dwelling in Arimathaea. They therefore sent men, and they found their tombs open and empty. Joseph says: Let us go to Arimathaea and find them.

Then rose up the chief priests Annas and Caiaphas, and Joseph, and Nicodemus, and Gamaliel, and others with them, and went away to Arimathaea, and found those whom Joseph spoke of. They made prayer, therefore, and saluted each other. Then they came with them to Jerusalem, and brought them into the synagogue, and secured the doors, and placed in the midst the old covenant of the Jews; and the chief priests said to them: We wish you to swear by the Elohim of Israel and Adonai, and so that you tell the truth, how you have risen, and who has raised you from the dead.

The men who had risen having heard this, made upon their faces the sign of the stake, and said to the chief priests: Give us paper and ink and pen. These therefore they brought. And sitting down, they wrote thus:-

Chapter 2 (18).

O Yahweh Yahshua Messiah, the resurrection and the life of the world, grant us grace that we may give an account of Thy resurrection, and Thy miracles which Thou didst in Hades. We then were in Hades, with all who had fallen asleep since the beginning of the world. And at the hour of midnight there rose a light as if of the sun, and shone into these dark regions; and we were all lighted up, and saw each other. And straightway our father Abraham was united with the patriarchs and the prophets, and at the same time they were filled with joy, and said to each other: This light is from a great source of light. The prophet Hesaias, who was there present, said: This light is from the Father, and from the Son, and from the Ruach Hakodesh (“H-ly Spirit”); about whom I prophesied when yet alive, saying, The land of Zabulon, and the land of Nephthalim, the people that sat in darkness, have seen a great light.2

Then there came into the midst another, an ascetic from the desert; and the patriarchs said to him: Who art thou? And he said: I am John, the last of the prophets, who made the paths of the Son of Elohim straight,3 and proclaimed to the people repentance for the remission of sins.4 And the Son of Elohim came to me; and I, seeing Him a long way off, said to the people: Behold the Lamb of Elohim, who taketh away the sin of the world.5 And with my hand I baptized Him in the river Jordan, and I saw like a dove also the Ruach Hakodesh (“H-ly Spirit”) coming upon Him;6 and I heard also the voice of Elohim, even the Father,7 thus saying: This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.8 And on this account He sent me also to you, to proclaim how the only begotten Son of Elohim is coming here, that whosoever shall believe in Him shall be saved, and whosoever shall not believe in Him shall be condemned.9 On this account I say to you all, in order that when you see Him you all may adore Him, that now only is for you the time of repentance for having adored idols in the vain upper world, and for the sins you have committed, and that this is impossible at any other time.

Chapter 3 (19).

While John, therefore, was thus teaching those in Hades, the first created and forefather Adam heard, and said to his son Seth: My son, I wish thee to tell the forefathers of the race of men and the prophets where I sent thee, when it fell to my lot to die. And Seth said: Prophets and patriarchs, hear. When my father Adam, the first created, was about to fall once upon a time into death, he sent me to make entreaty to Elohim very close by the gate of paradise, that He would guide me by an angel to the tree of compassion and that I might take oil and anoint my father, and that he might rise up from his sickness: which thing, therefore, I also did. And after the prayer an angel of Yahweh came, and said to me: What, Seth, dost thou ask? Dost thou ask oil which raiseth up the sick, or the tree from which this oil flows, on account of the sickness of thy father? This is not to be found now. Go, therefore, and tell thy father, that after the accomplishing of five thousand five hundred years10 from the creation of the world, thou shall come into the earth the only begotten Son of Elohim, being made man; and He shall anoint him with this oil, and shall raise him up; and shall wash clean, with water and with the Ruach Hakodesh (“H-ly Spirit”), both him and those out of him, and then shall he be healed of every disease; but now this is impossible.11 When the patriarchs and the prophets heard these words, they rejoiced greatly.

Chapter 4 (20).

And when all were in such joy, came Satan the heir of darkness, and said to Hades: O all-devouring and insatiable, hear my words. There is of the race of the Jews one named Yahshua, calling himself the Son of Elohim; and being a man, by our working with them the Jews have crucified him: and now when he is dead, be ready that we may secure him here. For I know that he is a man, and I heard him also saying, My soul is exceeding sorrowful, even unto death.12 He has also done me many evils when living with mortals in the upper world. For wherever he found my servants, he persecuted them; and whatever men I made crooked, blind, lame, lepers, or any such thing, by a single word he healed them; and many whom I had got ready to be buried, even these through a single word he brought to life again.

Hades says: And is this man so powerful as to do such things by a single word? or if he be so, canst thou withstand him? It seems to me that, if he be so, no one will be able to withstand him. And if thou sayest that thou didst hear him dreading death, he said this mocking thee, and laughing, wishing to seize thee with the strong hand; and woe, woe to thee, to all eternity!

Satan says: O all-devouring and insatiable Hades, art thou so afraid at hearing of our common enemy? I was not afraid of him, but worked in the Jews, and they crucified him, and gave him also to drink gall with vinegar.13 Make ready, then, in order that you may lay fast hold of him when he comes.

Hades answered: Heir of darkness, son of destruction, devil, thou hast just now told me that many whom thou hadst made ready to be buried, be brought to life again by a single word. And if he has delivered others from the tomb, how and with what power shall he be laid hold of by us? For I not long ago swallowed down one dead, Lazarus by name; and not long after, one of the living by a single word dragged him up by force out of my bowels: and I think that it was he of whom thou speakest. If, therefore, we receive him here, I am afraid lest perchance we be in danger even about the rest. For, lo, all those that I have swallowed from eternity I perceive to be in commotion, and I am pained in my belly. And the snatching away of Lazarus beforehand seems to me to be no good sign: for not like a dead body, but like an eagle, he flew out of me; for so suddenly did the earth throw him out. Wherefore also I adjure even thee, for thy benefit and for mine, not to bring him here; for I think that he is coming here to raise all the dead. And this I tell thee: by the darkness in which we live, if thou bring him here, not one of the dead will be left behind in it to me.

Chapter 5 (21).

While Satan and Hades were thus speaking to each other, there was a great voice like thunder, saying: Lift up your gates, O ye rulers; and be ye lifted up, ye everlasting gates; and the King of glory shall come in.14 When Hades heard, he said to Satan: Go forth, if thou art able, and withstand him. Satan therefore went forth to the outside. Then Hades says to his demons: Secure well and strongly the gates of brass and the bars of iron, and attend to my bolts, and stand in order,15 and see to everything; for if he come in here, woe will seize us.

The forefathers having heard this, began all to revile him, saying: O all-devouring and insatiable! open, that the King of glory may come in. David the prophet says: Dost thou not know, O blind, that I when living in the world prophesied this saying: Lift up your gates, O ye rulers? Hesaias said: I, foreseeing this by the Ruach Hakodesh (“H-ly Spirit”), wrote: The dead shall rise up, and those in their tombs shall be raised, and those in the earth shall rejoice.16 And where, O death, is thy sting? where, O Hades, is thy victory?17

There came, then, again a voice saying: Lift up the gates. Hades, hearing the voice the second time, answered as if forsooth he did not know, and says: Who is this King of glory? The angels of Yahweh say: Yahweh strong and mighty, Yahweh mighty in battle.18 And immediately with these words the brazen gates were shattered, and the iron bars broken, and all the dead who had been bound came out of the prisons, and we with them And the King of glory came in in the form of a man, and all the dark places of Hades were lighted up.

Chapter 6 (22).

Immediately Hades cried out: We have been conquered: woe to us! But who art thou, that hast such power and might? and what art thou, who comest here without sin who art seen to be small and yet of great power, lowly and exalted, the slave and the master, the soldier and the king, who hast power over the dead and the living? Thou wast nailed on the stake, and placed in the tomb; and now thou art free, and hast destroyed all our power. Art thou then the Yahshua about whom the chief satrap Satan told us, that through stake and death thou art to inherit the whole world?

Then the King of glory seized the chief satrap Satan by the head, and delivered him to His angels, and said: With iron chains bind his hands and his feet, and his neck, and his mouth. Then He delivered him to Hades, and said: Take him, and keep him secure till my second appearing.

Chapter 7 (23).

And Hades receiving Satan, said to him: Beelzebul, heir of fire and punishment, enemy of the saints, through what necessity didst thou bring about that the King of glory should be crucified, so that he should come here and deprive us of our power? Turn and see that not one of the dead has been left in me, but all that thou hast gained through the tree of knowledge, all hast thou lost through the tree of the stake: and all thy joy has been turned into grief; and wishing to put to death the King of glory, thou hast put thyself to death. For, since I have received thee to keep thee safe, by experience shall thou learn how many evils I shall do unto thee. O arch-devil, the beginning of death, root of sin, end of all evil, what evil didst thou find in Yahshua, that thou shouldst compass his destruction? how hast thou dared to do such evil? how hast thou busied thyself to bring down such a man into this darkness, through whom thou hast been deprived of all who have died from eternity?

Chapter 8 (24).

While Hades was thus discoursing to Satan, the King of glory stretched out His right hand, and took hold of our forefather Adam, and raised him. Then turning also to the rest, He said: Come all with me, as many as have died through the tree which he touched: for, behold, I again raise you all up through the tree of the stake. Thereupon He brought them all out, and our forefather Adam seemed to be filled with joy, and said: I thank Thy majesty, O Yahweh, that Thou hast brought me up out of the lowest Hades.19 Likewise also all the prophets and the saints said: We thank Thee, O Messiah, Saviour of the world, that Thou hast brought our life up out of destruction.20

And after they had thus spoken, the Saviour blessed Adam with the sign of the stake on his forehead, and did this also to tire patriarchs, and prophets, and martyrs, and forefathers; and He took them, and sprang up out of Hades. And while He was going, the holy fathers accompanying Him sang praises, saying: Blessed is He that cometh in the name of Yahweh:21 Alleluia; to Him be the glory of oil the saints.

Chapter 9 (25).

And setting out to paradise, He took hold of our forefather Adam by the hand, and delivered him, and all the just, to the archangel Michael. And as they were going into the door of paradise, there met them two old men, to whom the holy fathers said: Who are you, who have not seen death, and have not come down into Hades, but who dwell in paradise in your bodies and your souls? One of them answered, and said: I am Enoch, who was well-pleasing to Elohim, and who was translated hither by Him; and this is Helias the Thesbite; and we are also to live until the end of the world; and then we are to be sent by Elohim to withstand Antichrist, and to be slain by him, and after three days to rise again, and to be snatched up in clouds to meet Yahweh.22

Chapter 10 (26)

While they were thus speaking, there came another lowly man, carrying also upon his shoulders a stake, to whom the holy fathers said: Who art thou, who hast the look of a robber; and what is the stake which thou bearest upon thy shoulders? He answered: I, as you say, was a robber and a thief in the world, and for these things the Jews laid hold of me, and delivered me to the death of the stake, along with our Sovereign Yahshua Messiah. While, then, He was hanging upon the stake, I, seeing the miracles that were done, believed in Him, and entreated Him, and said, Lord, when Thou shall be King, do not forget me. And immediately He said to me, Awmane, awmane: to-day, I say unto thee, shall thou be with me in paradise. Therefore I came to paradise carrying my stake; and finding the archangel Michael, I said to him, Our Lord Yahshua, who has been crucified, has sent me here; bring me, therefore, to the gate of Eden. And the flaming sword, seeing the sign of the stake, opened to me, and I went in. Then the archangel says to me, Wait a little, for there cometh also the forefather of the race of men, Adam, with the just, that they too may come in. And now, seeing you, I came to meet you.

The saints hearing these things, all cried out with a loud voice: Great is our Sovereign, and great is His strength.23

Chapter 11 (27).

All these things we saw and heard; we, the two brothers, who also have been sent by Michael the archangel, and have been ordered to proclaim the resurrection of Yahweh, but first to go away to the Jordan and to be baptized. Thither also we have gone, and have been baptized with the rest of the dead who have risen. Thereafter also we came to Jerusalem, and celebrated the passover of the resurrection. But now we are going away, being unable to stay here. And the love of Elohim, even the Father, and the grace of our Sovereign Yahshua Messiah, and the communion of the Ruach Hakodesh (“H-ly Spirit”), be with you all.24

Having written these things, and secured the rolls, they gave the half to the chief priests, and the half to Joseph and Nicodemus. And they immediately disappeared: to the glory of our Sovereign Yahshua Messiah. Awmane.

I'd just like to share an insight I've come across which I hope will bless other readers. In 2 Thessalonians 1:6-10, Paul gives a description of the parousia of Christ and the judgement. We've all heard the most commonly accepted understanding of these verses, with Jesus appearing up in the sky, with winged angels, and him torching the entire Earth and destroying all the non-believers in hell, etc. I do not claim to fully understand all the imagery Paul uses in this passage, but this passage (along with most passages on this subject) poses several problems for futurists: 1. Verse 7 says the believers would receive rest when Jesus comes to carry out this judgement. Many today teach that no Christians will be on the Earth when Christ returns to carry out judgement. We supposedly will have left 7 years earlier. Verse 10 again places the saints on the earth at the time of this coming. I'm always amused at the elaborate last-days timelines that futurists come up with, with multiple comings of Christ, to remove Christians from the Earth, then to judge the unbelievers. The Bible does not speak of multiple comings (plural) of Christ, but of THE COMING of Jesus Christ. 2. In verses 9 and 10, Paul writes that the "everlasting destruction" of "them that know not God and obey not the gospel" begins "when He shall come to be glorified in His saints". The futurist, based only on Revelation 20, says the final judgement of the wicked is either 1000 or 1007 years after the coming of Christ, depending on whether he/she is pre- or post-tribulational, and which coming of Christ you are referring to. This is nonsense. Paul and John did not contradict one another. There is merely a truth here that we're not seeing. 3. Most importantly, Paul was writing all this specifically TO the believers in Thessalonica (verse 6, 7), and ABOUT "those that trouble (the Thessalonians)" (verse 6). In other words, this passage cannot be taken to apply to Christians in our era, because the way Paul words it, it can only be written TO the 1st century believers, and ABOUT their 1st century persecutors! Paul did not write as though he expected there to be a second generation of Christians before the coming of Christ and the judgement of those who rejected the gospel! Paul specifically identifies those who would be punished in this judgement as those who were persecuting the Thessalonians in the 1st century (verse 6). Who were these people? In 1 Thessalonians 2:14-16, Paul says the Thessalonians had suffered persecution from their own countrymen, and that the churches in Judea had suffered persecution by the 1st century Jews. Acts 17 also gives an account of how the 1st century Jews persecuted Paul in Thessalonica. In 1 Thessalonians 2:16, Paul says that wrath had come upon these Jews to the uttermost (telos). This means God's wrath had come upon them in it's entirety! All of it! So how much wrath is left for some yet-future final judgement? This judgement had to have occurred in the 1st century, to the people Paul identified as "those who obey not the gospel". God did this because the old covenant that they clung to contained provisions for judgment if they did not consistently obey every commandment given as part of that covenant. He made good on His Word, in destroying Jerusalem and bringing the ministration of death to a final end in 70 AD. I praise God that we are under a new and better covenant, with no provision for wrath, only mercy and God's infinite grace! Rob Wessel Mequon, WI rwessel@ra.rockwell.com

APOCALYPTIC INTERPRETATION

Since the time of the great Reformation, there have been no less than SIX PROMINENT THEORIES of interpretation, each claiming for itself the palm of merit, and all demanding the unanimous suffrage of the Christian Church. They are subjoined in the following order:-

I. THE ANTI-PROTESTANT FUTURIST THEORY. The originator of this theory was a Spanish Jesuit priest, Ribera by name, who, A.D. 1585, published a Commentary on the Revelation, in which he laboured to turn aside the Protestant application of the Apocalyptic prophecies and symbols from the Church of Rome. The opinion had matured into settled conviction, in the minds of many, that the Great Apostasy, spoken of in the Scriptures, was Papal; and that the "Little Horn" of Daniel, the "Antichrist" of John, the "Man of Sin" mentioned by Paul, and the Apocalyptic "Beast," were all identical. Against this view Ribera originated the Futurist theory. It is so called, because it passes by the Papacy, overleaps almost the whole immense interval of time between the date of the Apocalypse and the distant future, and holds that the events symbolised in the Apocalypse refer to the immediate antecedents or accompaniments of Christ's second coming. It argues a parallelism between the events of the Seven Seals and the successive signs of Christ's coming, as specified in his prophecy on Mount Olivet. Antichrist is not regarded as the Papacy, but avowed infidelity.

II. THE ANTI-PROTESTANT PRATERITE THEORY. This was originated by a Spanish Jesuit also, Alcasar of Seville, who, A.D. 1615, published a work having in view the same end as Ribera, viz., to set aside the Protestant application of the Apocalyptic prophecies and symbols. Ribera endeavored to throw everything forward into the future. Alcasar endeavoured to throw every thing backward into the past. He stops short in the course of history, and makes all the Apocalyptic symbols to have been fulfilled within the first five six centuries. The Germanic Neronic Form; so called because it dates the Apocalypse (an essential point for interpreters) about the end of Nero's reign, A.D. 67 and because it is thus regarded by the critical, rationalistic school of German expositors, and by Professor Stuart in America. According to this view, the Apocalypse can only refer to the overthrow of Judaism and Heathenism, and the triumph of Christianity, but not to the Papacy. The early date, viz., A.D. 67, makes room for supposing a reference to the destruction of Jerusalem, A.D. 70; and the six centuries, for the overthrow of Heathenism, and the prevalence of Christianity, but not for the demolition of the Roman Catholic Church! The Papal Domitianic Form; so called because it fixes the date of the Apocalypse about the end of Domitian's reign, A.D. 96; and in this form prevails with the Papacy. Of course, this form of the theory excludes application of the symbols of the Apocalypse to the destruction of Jerusalem, which occurred twenty-five years previous to this date, inasmuch as the events recorded were to come into being after the time John wrote.-(Rev. 4:1). The fall of Judaism and the doom of the Roman Catholic Church are not referred to at all, but only the overthrow of Heathenism and the triumph of Christianity. Such is the loose and wholesale mode of generalising in these two forms of Praeterism (the latter of which has yet some truth), that any upstart has a precedent before him for applying the Apocalyptic symbols to the destruction of any enemy he please.

III. THE MODIFIED FUTURIST THEORY. This theory resulted from a conviction in the minds of the Futurists themselves that great violence had been done to the Apocalypse, by completely closing its lips upon the subject of the Papacy, and by causing it to pass over in silence the stirring events of more than a thousand years. Such a scheme was too dashing and bold to escape merciless criticism and ridicule. It failed to secure the respect and confidence of its own supporters. Certain Futurists have endeavoured to modify it; in other words, to Protestantise Futurism, and conciliate the friendship of the historical interpreters. The chief points of supposed improvement are two: 1. With reference to the violent plunge into the distant future; and 2. With reference to the anti-Protestantism. Thus, the white horse and rider of the first seal represent the triumphant progress of Christ and his gospel until now: (!) we are near (!) the time of the end, when the Papacy will become (!) the Apocalyptic Beast, and Rome the Apocalyptic Babylon, but not Antichrist; (!) and soon Antichrist will appear, when the remaining seals will receive their fulfillment, and then the grand consummation will take place.

IV. THE TYPICO-SPIRITUAL THEORY. We coin this name for want of a better designation, or rather because the advocates of it have not given a satisfactory one themselves. It holds that prophecy is not an anticipation of history, but deals alone with the idea of good and evil. A particular man, city, or nation, may be taken as the representative or type of such idea, to be fulfilled, as intimated, in a lofty, spiritual, but not low, historical sense. The details of literal history are not ample enough to satisfy the fore announced demands of prophecy. Thus, Rome Papal answers only partly to the Apocalyptic Babylon; and hence, as ancient Babylon was only partly the subject of anti-Babylonic prophecies, so Rome Papal is only partly the subject of anti-Papal prophecies in the Revelation. There can only be an imperfect historical fulfillment in any case; and we must wait for a realization, not literally, but spiritually, of the grand idea, viz., the downfall of the true Babylon, which is the world (!) as opposed to the church. The influence of German philosophy, in the fabrication of this theory, is evident.

V. THE PARALLEL SEPTENARY THEORY. This is one of the two principle Protestant theories which have divided the opinions of orthodox interpreters. It argues against considering the Apocalypse as a progressive whole evolving its events in continuous succession. Instead of regarding the seven trumpets as the development of the seventh seal, just as the seven vials appear to be of the seventh trumpet, it considers them as parallel chronologically, and supplementary to each other, each septenary running from John's time to the consummation. It is eminently a church scheme, the church itself being the subject of the prophetic figurations, in its sevenfold phase, from the beginning to the end. This theory was brought into repute by Pareus and Vitringa shortly after the Reformation.

VI. THE CONTINUOUS HISTORICAL PROTESTANT THEORY. This was the principle theory which attracted the attention of the most orthodox and enlightened expositors until the earliest part of this century. It looks upon prophecy as an actual anticipation of veritable history. It regards each seal as successor to the preceding, in chronological order; each trumpet and each vial in the same way; and, objecting to the previous theory, maintains that the septenary of trumpets are subsequent to the septenary of seals, and the septenary of vials subsequent to the septenary of trumpets. The exclusive church scheme is discarded, and the Apocalypse is viewed as setting forth, in regular progression and detail, the chief secular and ecclesiastical events of the existing dispensation. An anti-Papal solution is given to the symbols and predictions respecting the "Beast." It was the theory of the Waldenses, Wickliffites, and Hussites; and the great body of the Reformers in the 16th century-German, Swiss, French, English, generally received it. It has been the view of the vast majority of Scottish presbyterians. It was also the view of many prominent American divines, from Edwards to the 19th century Princeton theologians-the Alexanders, the Hodges, Miller, etc. It is preeminently the theory of the Reformation, and therefore has been violently opposed by Roman Catholics, prelatists, rationalising expositors and other foes of reformational principles.-L'Avenir

I think I have the answer to your problem. You are assuming that the "desire of all nations" is the Lord, when in fact, I do not believe it is so. Some of the versions bring that out clearly. The verse does not say it is talking of the Messiah at all. That is an assumption. We cannot build doctrine on unclear verses.

Observe some of the commentaries:

Haggai 2:7  PP1

            (2) Messiah was not desired by all nations, but a "root out of a dry ground," having "no beauty that we should desire Him" <Isa. 53:2 (from Jamieson, Fausset, and Brown Commentary)

Haggai 2:7

[And the Desire of all nations shall come] The present Hebrew text is as follows: Uwbaa'uw  (heb 935) chemdat  (heb 2532) kaal  (heb 3605 hagowyim  (heb 1471), This is a difficult place if understood of a person: but chemdat  (heb 2532), desire, cannot well agree with baa'uw  (heb 935), they shall come. It is true that some learned men suppose that chemdowt  (heb 2532), desirable things, may have been the original reading: but this is supported by no manuscript, nor is baa'uw found in the singular number in any manuscript. It is generally understood of the desirable or valuable things which the different nations should bring into the temple; and it is certain that many rich presents were brought into this temple. All are puzzled with it. But the principal difficulty lies in the verb uwbaa'uw  (heb 935), they shall come. If we found ubaa'  (heb 935) chemdat  (heb 2532) in the singular, then it would read as in our text, And the Desire of all nations shall come. ' but no such reading appears in any manuscript; nor is it fairly acknowledged, except by the Vulgate, which reads, Et veniet desideratus cunctis gentibus, "And that which is desired," or the desired Person, "shall come to all nations." In <Hag. 2:7> God says He will shake or stir up all nations; that these nations shall bring their desirable things; that the house shall be filled with God's glory; that the silver and gold, which these nations are represented as bringing by way of gifts, are the Lord's; and that the glory of this latter house shall exceed the former.

(from Adam Clarke Commentary)

2532  chemdah-desire

as a feminine noun: Messiah is masculine

1) desire, what is desirable

as an adjective:

2) pleasant, precious Nothing about Messiah

DESIRE OF ALL NATIONS

            (3) Other expositors seek to cut the Gordian knot by altogether denying the application to the Messiah, and translating "the desire of all nations" by "the beauty," or "the desirable things of all nations," i.e. their precious gifts (see <Isa 60:5,11; 61:6>). This application is defended in the following way: (a) The Hebrew word means the quality and not the thing desired; (b) the Messiah was not desired by all the nations when He came; (c) the verb "shall come" is plural, which requires the noun to be understood in the plural, whereas if the Messiah be intended, the noun is singular; (d) "The silver is mine," etc. <Hag 2:8> accords with the translation "the desirable things of all nations"; (e) the agreement of the Sept and Syriac versions with such rendering.

DESIRE OF ALL NATIONS, THE

A phrase interpreted by some translations of the Bible as a prophecy of the Messiah <Hag. 2:7>; (KJV, NKJV; wealth of all nations, NASB; treasure of all nations, NEB). The prophet Haggai envisioned a time when the choicest and costliest treasures of the Gentiles would be dedicated to the God of Israel. For the Christian, the Lord Jesus Christ is, indeed "the Desire of all nations."

Hag 2:7

7          I will shake all nations, and the Desire of All Nations shall come to this Temple, and I will fill this place with my glory,' says the Lord Almighty.

(TLB)

Hag 2:6
6            "Before long I will shake heaven and earth, land and sea. 7 I will overthrow all the nations, and their treasures will be brought here, and the Temple will be filled with wealth. 8 All the silver and gold of the world is mine. 9 The new Temple will be more splendid than the old one, and there I will give my people prosperity and peace." The LORD Almighty has spoken. (TEV)

Hag 2:7

7          "I will shake all the nations; and they will come with the wealth of all nations, and I will fill this house with glory,' says the LORD of hosts. (NAS)

Half of the Bible versions say it is talking of material treasures that will fill God's Temple and not the Messiah. The other half says the "desire of the nations"-whatever that is. They do not say the Messiah. Therefore it cannot be used to build a doctrine on anything, let alone end times. The "shaking of the nations" would have been an OT battle such as was common in that time period.

In fact, according to Keil and Delitzsch :

Haggai 2:1-9  PP27

The shaking of the heathen world did not first begin with the birth of Christ, but commenced shortly after the time of Haggai. It is true that under Darius Hystaspes the Persian empire was still standing at the summit of its power; but its shaking began under his successor Xerxes, and came very plainly to light in his war against Greece. "Even then there were forebodings that the time of this empire would soon be accomplished, and the rapid conquests of Alexander gave fulfilment to this foreboding. And even his power, which seemed destined to last for ever, very speedily succumbed to the lot of all temporal things. Inde (says Livy) morte Alexandri distractum in multa regna, dum ad se quisque opes rapiunt lacerantes viribus, a summo culmine fortunae ad ultimum finem centum quinquaginta annos stetit. The two most powerful kingdoms that grew out of the monarchy of Alexander, viz., the Syrian and Egyptian, destroyed one another. The Romans now attained to the government of the world; but at the very time when they appeared to be at the summit of their greatness, their shaking had very considerably advanced" (Hengstenberg).

(from Keil & Delitzsch Commentary on the Old Testament)

I hope this is satisfactory. Please reply.

Dear Todd:  I sent this letter to Mr. Noory of the Coast to Coast Radio Program with Art Bell.  I am sorry for saying these things, but it is my opinion and I believe, the truth.  I saw your webpage on t+he predictions others have made in the past.

Dear Mr. Noory,

Before I begin, I would like to say that my views are constructive criticism and is needful to make my stand and argument.  I have heard others on your program talk about the government (by bringing up the one-world conspiracy, for example) and their were no repercussions from the host.  So, in this respect, I am giving my opinions also and feel that I should be allowed to voice my criticisms, etc. without any criticism or being told I'm picking on someone or knocking someone.  I believe that is why we have freedom of speech to voice and conclude our own opinions no matter what the subject matter.  And do so without someone making one feel he is doing something wrong or telling them he is out of line by getting across his points and views.  And based on how open many seem to be to all kinds of things, including yourself, I would like to have the same openess  not to be criticized for criticizing.  I don't think it would be fair to tell someone to stop with your views,et! c. because they are making a stand against someone or some belief.  Like anything discussed there are pros and cons  and I will tell the truth and facts.  In order for me to do this, I must tell it like it is.  It is my story and experience.  I guess what I'm trying to say is that sometimes people will cut people short when they are voicing their opinions by telling them it is enough because they are getting down on or singling out a particular group.(When they are just giving their views, opinions, etc. .

I try to be an honest person so I would like to tell you that if I was not in the battle I am in right now, I wouldn't even be writing you.  But during hard times and situations like these (personal battles) you think of things and do things you might not have otherwise.  It has been a battle of my life and has been going on for 12 years straight.  But I wont' get into that.  But what I will tell in this letter has put me in this battle to begin with.  One that has lasted nearly 23 years, but especially the last 12 years.

Anyways, about 7 years ago I was going to write Art Bell after being in this situation, but never did so I'm sorry.  I first learned of Art Bell in the fall of 1993, when my worse situation was at it's beginnings.  I was employed as a telephone interviewer and one of the surveys had Art Bell in it.  It was the first time I heard of the radio talk show host.  Around 1993 or 1994 I found Art Bell on the radio and started listening to him.  At first, it seemed like a program that talked about current events I believe it had celebrities on it.  But it seemed to have a different format and programming compared, to say, today.  But as I listened for a few months the programming seemed to change more and more (first gradually, then it seemed all at once) from this to UFO'S, the unknown, Biblical prophecies and other prophecies and on and on.  I knew where it was headed and did not agree with it.  If I'm wrong I'm sorry.  Has it always been like this? (This type of subject matt! er for the most part?)  So, if I'm wrong about the change in your program, I'm sorry.

Mr. Bell, at this time, was also talking about his Quickening theory, but has not written his book yet (or had not finished it).But my point is that the program was getting very heavy into all of this and it was just taking off in that direction.  So, after awhile, I quit listening to it.  The reason being I was into all of that.

With all of this said thus far, I can now tell you why I felt (and still do) the way I did.  To me, to be constantly talking about this, particularly the end-times, prophecies, predictions, and destruction, puts you in a different kind of battle and after day after day just thinking  about all of this, you kind of get into a frenzy over it and into some sort of hypnotic state of mind.  It starts to take you over and the unfortunate thing (as in my case which I'll explain) is what happens if it is not true or it is not the time (as in my case).  And without realizing it you are into this heavy when you weren't that way before.  I do know, Mr. Noory, that you have always been interested in these things before, but I am mostly speaking about predicting the future and date setting of the end of the world and the Messiah coming.  (If I recall correctly you have been interested in this since you were a little kid.)   And not that I was not opened to this myself in my earlier y! ears or that you shouldn't be open to a certain extent, but one must be careful not to get all filled with anticipation, etc,. about dates and times. (for noone knows)  Jesus told His disciples in the Book of Acts that it was not for them to know the times and seasons that the Father had put in His own hand. (Acts 1:6+7, Mark 13:32) Not even Jesus knows..

Anyways, at that time, I quit listening to it.  You see, I was involved (very heavily) with a group that was into date setting, predictions, the Lord's coming(rapture), and the end of the world.  This was 1976 to 1981 In Tucson, Arizona.  I didn't know it was one of these "religious cults" and believe me it had it's effects.  But it has had it's negative effects even after all of these years.  First of all, I was a very vulverable candidate, being young and looking for salvation, the Son of God, and the Lord(literally).  When I first met the group they had long hair and came from the same lifestyle as me (the 60's,etc.).  I fit right in, but they carried these big bibles and could quote scriptures, it seemed from cover to cover so I stood in awe of them.  I wasn't looking for "prophecy" on my travels out to Tucson, but was wondering about the Savior and that whole plan, by the way, which most of us were taught and exposed to as we grew up or by having the "Holy Book"in!  our home.  Well, I knew what that book meant and that God had something to do with it.  I mean even before Tucson, I believed in God.

So yes, I was looking for this, but really for Jesus the Man, and didn't want to go to hell.  I mean if God was God, I wanted to make sure everything was ok with him before I died or rather just in case something happened  like if I got killed or something.  Joining this group put me on a long journey that has lasted a long time  even to this day.  And,unfortunately, it was a bad road that led to destruction and much darkness and misery.  One I never knew of before.  And I could say so much about this and could write a book.  The reason it brought this type of darkness is be-cause  I was living for a day and it actually takes your time (and we have limited time to enjoy everything).  Another reason, is that you depend upon people like this and follow an unsound doctrine.  Actually, I believe it brings alot of bad demons from "out there" into your life like the Ouija board.  Why such bad effects from a group that shows alot of love and friendliness, etc.?    One of my ma! jor points, is that this is the deceptive part and you don't have to get into a paranoid state over it, but to just be aware because  the Bible says that there are wolves in sheep's clothing and this is why this stuff is probably the greatest deception there is.  If I were to come to you and say I stand for evil and worship Satan with a Satanic Bible in my hand, then you probably would immediately turn away.  But these false prophets come to, in the name of the Lord with smiles and  "supposedly" standing for good.  But, eventually, the outcome would be the same.  Demons brought into your life who disguise themselves as good, helping, and bring that good old security.  And you end up brainwashed over these false teachings and deceived (at least I did).  But despite all of this, it is very real and it works gradually and over time to train your thoughts and lead you to the future and away from the present (with unfortunate consequences).  It is all done slowly, but subtlely,  ! programming you with something that is someone else's specula! tion and interpretation of things.  You end up as a follower and the bottom line is it may not be true or come to pass.  Then what?  When I say you, it means anybody and how I became.  So, in reality, this can be used in a negative way and the danger is it can take you on a ride of delusion and illusion.  Another danger is it may be false and it takes you in a most subtle way.  You don't and won't know it because it is so accepted and advertised, but has been around for centuries. Many don't think or want to know that it is (or can be) a bad thing.  It takes you out of reality like drugs.

Getting back the cult itself, I got my wife to join up with this group also(well before we were married) and also got her to quit school and go to Tucson to join the group.  And to be in a group like that with all of the extra strain and control etc., we didn't have a chance.  We were far away from our parents and friends, etc.  They became our family, but unforturnately it was under unsound doctrine and false teachings.  And I may sound like the enemy because of my stand against these type groups and the end-times,etc., but I hope understandably so.  And God has used it to make me stronger and show the real truth because of the spiritual battle I was in and the unsureness it brings (why?) Because no one really knows the time.  So, why waste time trying to figure it out when according to God's timetable no man knows.  And that is another point; it wastes(literally) much time and it doesn't seem that way but 20 years from now people may still be waiting and watching for t! he Lord or some great event.   Is it wrong to want Him to come?   Not if it is the right time and you know it.  I believe God wants you to be a sure person on all things.  He doesn't leave us in the dark or dangling with possibilities or maybe's.  It turned out to be a very bad influence and experience that neither one of us needed.  You had to go to all of their meetings, etc. and study, study, study, unfortunately it was their interpretation and beliefs, etc.  And just wanted you to get ready and prepared for the Lord's return and the "rapture" which was supposed to be June 1981.  I could go on much longer in writing this, but will try to close.  I know it is long and you have many e-mails to read.  They didn't want you to have anything to do with your parents if they didn't follow the Lord like they did  and believe like they did. Also, forget your rock music(it's "of the devil"), forget education, and basically, forget you and the things you held dear and loved to do.  ! Alot of divorces came out of this.  They were very, very anti! -government and believed  in the one-world conspiracy theory.  It was my life and gave up some of my best years for these beliefs, but it was vain and used against me by people and who knows what.

It is a very unfortunate thing for someone to use(abuse and misuse) God's word for their own self-interest and to manipulate those who are sincere in their search and quest for God.  It is sad and I wonder how God feels about it.  It ruins lives and uses people for their money, etc. .  You see, on top of all of this, many were giving their money, property, etc., to them.  I was giving my meager earnings to them also.  Also, the leader who was in his forties at the time, had a nice home, car, pool, garden, etc., and all at the expense of the ministry.  They'd go out to dinner everyday at the expense of the ministry.   While we struggled to just get by.(By the way you can check this particular group out on 220 dates for the end of the world! Date Setters and also Doomsday Dates for 1981,Tucson,Az.)

We can judge by seeing if their  predictions and prophecies do come true.  And in Deuteronomy 18:21+22, it says when(not if) a prophet speaks in the name of the Lord and the thing follow not nor come to pass, that is what the Lord has not spoken and the prophet has spoken it presumptuously and you shall not be afraid of him.  It says he shall die.   So, if any of the things the people are saying today do not come to pass, then wisdom would say to avoid them and any future times and dates or whatever they come up with.  There are scams out there like anything else and even if these predicters or whatever name you may call them are sincere, to follow them after the results were negative is foolish (they had their chance).   I could tell you offhand people throughtout history who have failed in their predictions to go right ahead and set more dates for the same thing and trying to justify themselves as to why they were wrong that first time.  And this is part of my argumen! t also and what I'm against.  And I know people could take what I'm saying  and they too would find a way to justify these false prophets even by using the Bible.  Maybe they are friends or colleagues, but Jesus would not compromise and would tell them the truth of the matter.  So,   whether they justify themselves completely or show that they are not completely wrong, the actual fact is that they are wrong.  These type groups seldom disperse but remain loyal to their leader.  I have heard on your show that to everything there is an opposite and I believe that.  For every true prophet there is a false one and for every false prophet there is true one.  On the subject of prophecy, the true prophets were always the minority in the Bible and even in the secular world  the ones who predict things as a genuine prophet are in the minoriy.

To further my point, the Doomsday Dates and this atmosphere(that really is nothing new) really does carry with it a gloomy and doomy spirit with it thatsort of puts you in a partial "sleep" to the rest of the world that is real.  I call it a hypnotic state.  There's something about it and I believe it is that the Creator doesn't want us to spend all of our time and energy and money into something that may not be and history gives us plenty of evidence to make us aware of this possibility.  Wouldn't it be simpler to "let it be" and take it's course because as long as we have made our peace with God and live day to day in the present sharing, helping, and just plain old living?, it doesn't matter if we know the exact day of the end (or whatever) or if it is near or afar off,  we will be ready and can't stop it anyways.  Not that I am ready or sharing and helping.  There are those that are looking for a new,  better day and those that are looking for the destruction, etc.,!  and I believe the former is the better way to go.  Not to disregard the latter or that possibility but because we do not know for sure let us live our lives normally.  And this is my argument also.  The former of these two ideas brings faith and hope and is faith manifesting for a changed, better world.  What happens if the time is not now and we are living under this umbrella of gloom and darkness and almost a fear?  It seems to me that there is a friction or something is going against the grain when many are trying to change and change the world for the better and then the destruction people say what's the use(in a sense).  Then in a sense our life will be wasted.  Living under false preconceptions and speculation  when we can plan or live our lives as though we had 1000 years (left because we may; no one knows).   We are better off living in the middle of the two(especially in the light of the recent events (9/11), that way we can live life normally and at the same time ! be aware of the possibility that it may  happen and can conce! rning doom and destruction.  Live life, knowing in reality, there is that awful possibility.  Myself, presently, am working on this and trying  to get my peace with God.  And I'm not sharing or helping at this time, because I need to get myself to-gether first (so I can help also someone else).  But I'm trying to share my gloom and doom experience to show how it took away some of my best years of life when I shouln't have even been in that group.  And this "teaching", and again I must stress that it can do this and more, is even ( and has been all through history) in many if not most, churches today.(I can't really say how many).  It seems to be the "common, accepted" teaching in the church and the secular world today.  And going back to one of my points earlier, it is the most deceiving part.  Everybody accepts it and gets "uptight" or bothered over it when they could be relaxed and their mind eased knowing it is not the time and no one knows the time.  Let's go back to wher! e life was simpler.  And we were (or I should say I) not exposed to it.  In my case, I would have been much better off.  I keep referring to myself from time to time because I know you have for much of your life been interested in these type things, but this is nothing personal against you.  It's just, in reality, I had a very bad experience with this doomsday living and view.  I was led (by the Bible of all things) astray.  So, yes, the devil can quote scripture and use the very Book God sent to us to deceive, etc. by "twisting" the scriptures to mean something else. It's sad, but true and not to glorify the archenemy, but we can do something by doing our own individual seeking and reading in the Bible and elsewhere.  These groups give the genuine believers and the Bible a bad name.  My parents were really turned off to God and the Bible because of how it effected me in such a negative way and how I was not the same.  The gloom and doom atmosphere brings doubt and fear to a!  certain extent.  How would you like to be a person that love! s life and has plans to do things and enjoy life and then you start hearing of this that the end is coming etc., and you get a little into a frenzy over it and it causes you to limit yourself and restrain yourself?  And then after being in this state of mind a few years and living for this and expecting it even, then it doesn't happen?  It may cause some effects and unknown consequences.  It could be a real let down and you may even get angry.

Another question I have is, why allow one's self to be under false notions and preconceived ideas when it is not true(if it is true that would be another thing, and this is a form of a battle amongst people, religions or whatever today------one says it's coming, another says it isn't.  Yes, we all have our opinions{and that is why I'm writing this} and we have the right to choose whatever, but it does not justify going a certain way when it is wrong.  And there is a right and wrong way).  And I didn't know it was false and I was living under a false "umbrella" until the predicted day came and went.  Then I had to "get back" to the mainstream of life to live a day-to-day, normal life.  And it was diffucult and took alot more time to get "deprogrammed" from "their" program, after leaving the group.  I was isolated from society and they would teach you not to have anything to do with the world.  So, we stayed in our own little group out there in the desert.  ( I was deprog! rammed by myself and by, again, "getting back"  to the mainstream of life.  To the thing that I knew before.

With every true group (Christian or whatever) there is a false one.  It turned out to be a very bad experience and influence that I did not need.  God will (and has used it) but it was not of Him in the first place.  Afterall, we do live in a real world and things like this are out there to desrtoy you, steal your identity, and on and on.  And they do it very, very subtley by coming as a messenger of the Lord (or of good) and as a friend.  I'm sure the terrorists on 9/11 were living as normal individuals to the outside world, but look at what they were scheming.  I guess I can't say, but I believe when they went to the supermarket they had smiles and maybe were friendly to the clerks, etc., and the clerk would never in their wildest dreams think this nice guy would fly a plane into the highest building in the world.  I'm trying to make another point here, but I so suppose it was like this in some of their daily activities(like shopping, or paying their rent).  But I'm no! t talking about terrorist groups as we know it today, or about those that come in the name of Allah and murder.  I'm talking about those that gather together in a house or remote area and wait for the Lord's return at their own expense and at the "Word" of a man or woman.  Those who may not even be violent, but still they have those strong beliefs against the government.  So, who knows, if it warrants it, they too may end up picking up arms.  You never know.

I'm going to get into something now that needs to be brought out to support my view by the evidence and truth that they themselves have revealed in their own teachings, practices, and lifestyle.  And I'm talking about the Branch Davidians.  The group I belonged to is not terrorist and did not stockpile weapons, but their teachings (especially against the government and the strong belief in the one-world order) were very much in agreement with the Davidians and other one-world order groups.  Many of their beliefs and lifestyles were similiar to the Davidian cult by keeping to yourselves and from family, etc.  And the overwhelmingly time and indoctrination by their interpretation and predictions and prophecies.  Remember, the Branch Davidians were also a Doomsday Cult.   Like the group I belonged to , David Koresh had his followers believing that the end was near and war was coming,   etc.  Here is a guy preaching about how the government is the enemy and there is going to!  be war and bloodshed, etc., and he was very serious and wasn't putting on a hoax.  Also, years before he was in a gun fight with a fellow member of the group for control, but got aquitted.  Now, over a period of time he has stockpiled numerous guns of all calibers and kinds and much ammunition.  If I were a Federal agent with the mind that he was trained to have for such things and for our protection, etc., what would I think?  I would think what is this guy up to?  He definitely needs to be checked out.  It had nothing to do with their beliefs directly, but putting 2 and 2 together (the weapons and their strong beliefs about the government) it is not complicated to see what may need to be done.  That is why the surrvielance.  It had nothing to do with their long hair or whatever.  People in the ATF have long hair.

This had to do with the law just like it would effect you and me if we were in that situation or had alot of weapons.  So, the government said we got to keep our eye on them.  I do not believe that those people in the government with families and children and love for God and for country willingly or otherwise would be in any conspiracy to kill innocent children in that compound.  Somebody is lying.  I'm not saying there are not a few in the government that are "bad apples", because there are, but taking the beliefs of each and the mind of each (because the government felt they were dealing with a crazy man, sorry to say that) who are you going to believe?  And in a war- type situation where you have people shooting at you, too to kill, then you can see how the Federal agents felt about it. Very seriouly.  And I'm not saying they didn't make mistakes, but did't the Davidians make some mistakes too?  Which brings me to my point.  Where did all of this begin?  Didn't it b! egin with people following a man claiming to be Jesus Christ or maybe some Prophet?  Didn't it really begin when these people allowed themselves to get brainwashed and indoctrinated with unsound doctine and false teachings?  Didn't it begin way back before the Waco disaster when these people left friends and family and started to believe that their families were all wrong and were not "saved"(which is one of the common teachings of these groups)?  It is rebellion against the family and parents.  And didn't it begin when they, by the Bible itself, became fanatical to the point they would kill and die for David Koresh, believing God was telling them this (through Koresh, but "missusing" the Bible to do it)?  I could go on and on but must come to my closing points, I know.  No, I don't believe it was the government afterall like some people believe today.  And I am a 60's child who was ant-war and for peace and against the police and establishment(but not now, of course).  They!  were not following the True Spirit of the "Living" God.  It ! is very obvious also because Jesus didn't come back and it wasn't the end of the world.  That was their mind.  The bottomline is they actually and literally lost their lives because of their beliefs.  They did not use wisdom nor respect the law.  They took it upon themselves and on their terms for the way the situation went when they could have come out and given up in the very beginning.  If they are Christians and believed the end was coming for them and the world, what are they doing with weapons anyways; it wouldn't do them any good and God didn't tell them to do that..  When Jesus's end came, one of the disciples pulled out his sword and was ready to fight.  But Jesus told him to put it back. (Matt. 26:50-53)  The end had come and nothing could be done anyways.

Scripturally, they were and are off the wall.  And these are the same people that would tell you to follow God and not man.  They were violating spirtual laws and the Word of God itself by preaching another gospel.( Galatians 1:6-9)  They were not in tuned with God and were out of His will to begin with by opening themselves up to danger and trouble.  Also, to follow man's laws is of the Lord and to respect the leaders and the laws and their (actually His) ministers.  (Rom. !:1-7, I Peter 2:13-16).  I too followed a man as The True Prophet who supposedly had all of the answers to the end-times.  So, whether the government was right or wrong, my point here is that they got themselves into that situation to begin with because it was not of the Lord to be there in the first place.  They should have been out on the mission field if they were strong believers instead of in their own little world and just getting prepared through heavy indoctrination and brainwashing.  And I ! don't know for sure, although I read some testimony on it, but they sure seemed to handle those guns pretty well that morning.  It seems as though they must have trained, and I guess they did have a shooting range for training.  And David Koresh said the guns were only for sale at gun shows to make a living.  We are back to the deception concept again.  Also, I would like to ask here how would the government act today (toward the Davidians) with all of the terrorist dangers present if  the Davidians had all the weapons as they did then no matter why they had them?  And this is another one of my points.  That is why they were checked out then way before all of these present terrorists threats because with all of that weaponry and their beliefs about the government, etc. you just don't ever know.  Quite frankly, that cult was following a Satanic nature. And the government was looking at it like they would look at the terrible terrorist threats.

My whole point is following these idealologies has it's consequences and effects.  Mine was very similiar to the Davidians in the sense how I let myself get so  emotionally attached to the group.  That is why it took so long to come to the realization and the truth that this group was a cult.  And after the Waco thing, that really opened my eyes to the fact that what I was involved with was no different.  The exception, of course, is that it did not involve illegal weapons or any weapns and we did not literally try to "take on" the government.  But the real enemy is the  "common teaching"  about some of the things I have mentioned.

In closing, I would like to say that I appreciate all of your time and listening to this important subject.  I just believe that the things about the future can and are getting out of hand and many are once again getting into a frenzy over it.  Also, it can be (whether intentionally or not) be used as a vehicle to make money literally.  And, of course, that is wrong in itself.  One scenario is that what would happen if many people followed alot that is being said today about the "end-times",etc., and were all filled with anicipation and expectancy of some great event (whether good or bad) and it didn't happen? (As I was)   There may be much disappointment and lost of faith and someone would have all of the money to live what may be a lifetime.  And the faithful followers would be out of the money, who buy all the books, etc.  And all they will maybe think is "nice try."  For what?  To me it is vain and they  could have used all of their money and time, etc., for some constructive cause that could be correct the world and is for real.  It is a thin line, but really it is simple.  Maybe the best way is to have a little bit of a thought about what may happen and if it is soon or what.  I am talking by experience, and I'm not saying this in pride, but I do know all about the fanaticism about it and the frenzy one can get into and the power trip one can get into because they think they know the time, but don't.

My heart has been broken because I know and came to know that I was taken with this stuff and in my life it caused misery and blame.  I was to blame to a certain extent, but not totally.  This can really trap a person (like it did me), and you may wonder why.  How does these type groups and things I've been discussing get a hold on people who may be rich, or have a good education and are very intelligent?  By not knowing the Bible and having someone dictate it to them in a way that instills fear if they don't follow it (like you will go to hell, or God will be against you in some way, etc. ),  Somebody is weak.  I guess the people who allow themselves and the leaders who also believe or intentionally scam you.  In my case, the leaders  believed it, too.

The group I was in even used the Bible to get me to cut my hair (it was long back in 1974).  They told me how it was sort of against God and that I would be closer to Him if I did.  I didn't always have long hair and actually had it short up until around 1994 or '95.  I've grown it back.

I hope I have said all that I was going to say, because  I forgot to bring my letter to the library today.  Now that I have given my beliefs and views, I believe God does not want me to be concerned or overly concerned  with the "end-times", etc., because after being in such a group, he showed me a different road to follow and that was day by day like we used to (or like I used to) when I was young.  Life was simple then and lived naturally and I believe it still can be.  I believe God would want us to live like that and it is possible and especially if the time is way off in the future.  It should be an encouragement if it is afar off.  Also,  I may sound like a hypocrite now after all that I've said, but I went back to listening to Art Bell about 2 years ago.  And much of the things that are on now like the healing, or miracles or divine messengers, etc., I do agree with and try to take only the positive (which I believed in even before I started ever listening).  I k! now it sounds like I'm a fake now because I have ended up listening to the show once again, but I have been in a 12 year personal battle and I can't get into it, but it has to do with going back to Tucson(not to that group though) and while there in 1991, much of the "cultic" experience came back and surfaced.  Don't ask me how or why, it just did.   And so, I was fighting this thing once again or maybe it was some of the remaining past that stuck with me through the years.  And I didn't get it all hashed out way back in the early "80's like I wanted to.  Whether I realized it or not the whole Tucson years meant so much to me because after all it was part of my life that was lived there.  So, I began to somehow get everything out that still remained.  So, I've been reading all kinds of books and literature in the library and gathering all kinds of knowledge and understanding that I would have not otherwise have done, but I am taking advantage of it since I have chosen to go ! down this road.  So, I have been getting saturated with the n! ew age material and things like on your program and even reading the publications at the checkout counter at the supermarket.  I know God will use it and it does add a little faith knowing things(I'm talking about the good things) can happen.  But, yes, ( and I'm not trying to be hypocritical), I have been now concerned about the end and some big thing happening because of the September 11 attacks and now the possible war with Iraq.  I guess, somehow the current events have to do with your personal life and battles, too.  But after I overcome this terrific battle I've been in for 12 years, I will forget the future for good as far as having it try to cause me to live for it.  I mean I will be ready and have my peace with God so it won't matter to me.  I mean the very thing that I've have been telling you throughout all of this e-mail, is the very thing that had been fighting me back in the late 70's and early 80's and has come back when I returned to Tucson in 1991.  But I will know that it is the devil for sure when I get back to the narrow road He had directed me on after being so brainwashed over this future End-times.  So, this is the argument.  Are all of these future predictions something God wants me to know at this time or are they His warnings?  I still believe not.  So, you can see that the devil can use this and put you in a place where you are struggling with it etc., but  the Lord is a God of peace.  I do somewhat believe that that "old serpent" is doing this to waste time, etc. but God is also using it to give me new things for the future.  I hope I'm not rambling on or sounding like an idiot since I learned my lesson well and I hope this makes sense to you.

Now, I will try to close, I'm sorry.  Wouldn't it be good and good to know if the time is coming or not?  You could live your life, knowing (and this is what it's all about) that the end is not near and we are not going to be annihilated.  And I did after 1981 and call it, simply, the normal life.  Because it was meant to be lived (life that is), and I just believe that a faith life is effected by the Doomsday preaching even if it is just somewhat.

I appreciate greatly for your time and for reading this.  I appreciate you reading your e-mails and again, I know this is long, but I would have to write a book to include everything.  I heard your guests saying something about this also because they have so much to say in a 3 hour session, which is pretty long.  Take care and I will continual to listen to the program for awhile more and it is nothing personal when I stop.  But I know I am getting something out of it and in the midst of the truth that I have stated, and which definitely applies to me, here I  was going to write a one-sided view against the show years ago and end up listening frequently myself.  But, my points do stand and are true, but in all fairness some of the things on your show (program) are interesting.  Especially, about the miracles and positive things that are helping people ( like Dr. Paul Pearsall O Hawaii) .  UFO'S - I don't believe in, but other things on your program I do.

In this e-mail when I mention the word you, I mean me or anybody; it is not directed toward you personally.

In other times of history, God ( I believe ) has risen up leaders to bring a time of peace and prosperity to the known world.  It is possible to conceive, especially if the time is not yet for the end and if we know it we can pray for it, believe and have faith for it.  One example, is Constantine.  He was the first Roman, Christian emperor and he got rid of idols and brought in a time of peace for the Christians and for the world in general.  And other empires and civilisations brought a time ( and for 100 years or more ) of peace where things were better in the world.  Even the Renaissance, it was a time of art and "being born-again" and the betterment of society and culture.  And there are quite a few others that brought things like this after troubled times or brought it anyways like Leo the III.  Take care Mr. Noory.
Signing off now------   Sincerely,  Todd DeFrank

Believe preterist view is wrong and left behind premillinealism is wrong. George Ladd may closer to the truth Rabbi Yehudah in the name of R. Eliezar Bar Avina said: Two men had the end revealed to them, but it became hidden away from them later on; they are Jacob and Daniel... Jacob here says, '... that I may tell you what shall befall you in the last days, but goes on to speak and rebuke Reuben instead' Midrash Rabbah Genesis 98:3. Targum Pseudo-Jonathan When the twelve tribes of Jacob assembled and surrounded Jacob's golden couch on which he rested, [they thought he would reveal to them the ultimate blessings and comforts]; and after the glory of the shekina of the Lord had been revealed to him, the time when the King, Messiah, was going to come was concealed from him. In Genesis 49 Jacob tells his children I will tell you what is to come in the last days. Genesis 49 is a prophecy that spans Israeli's history and predicts when messiah is to come. That is Jacob poetically describes the Children of Israel's History and reveals when Messiah is to come. There is much more in this passage and there is much I don't understand or understand fully but I hope that it might be revealed to you. I think perhaps yu might because I feel today may be like in Jeremiah where the Lord said backsliding Israel has justified herself more than Judah. That is to say those whom he showed mercy to have proven themselves unfaithful they have not learned from Israel. Therefore He tell the one he formerly rejected to acknowledge her sin and return. The Lord allowed his Glory to pass into the hands of the Philistine gentiles because of Israel's sin but the Glory of the Lord eventually returned back to Israel. In so doing He rebuked those who thought they could use Him for gain but not obey His word. The Lord was magnified in the philistine land but Israel was desolate. Similarly the Lord gained glory to himself in Babylon after the temple was destroyed by the Babylonians in the book of Daniel. The Lord speaks out against those whose lips are nigh to him but there hearts are far from him. Shiloh, The first temple, 70 AD the second Temple. In all these events The Lord gained glory to himself in the humiliation of loss. Gentiles acknowledged the majesty of the God of Abraham Isaac and Jacob. First the philistines, than the Babylonians, Medes and Persians, and the Christian world acknowledges the God of Abraham, Isaac an Jacob is the one true God. He allowed the sign of his glory and presence to fall into Gentile hands. Repentance is needed His presence and promises can not be taken advantage of. God hates sin he provided sacrifice as an atonement for repentant sinners not to enable sinners in their sinning. The message of Elijah is repentance from sin and believe in the true God for the Kingdom of Heaven is at hand. The Shiloh incident was an abomination of desolation the Ark in the temple of foreign god Dagon. The holy objects dedicated to the Lord going to Babylon and being used by Belshazzar to toast other Gods. The pig sacrificed to Zeus in the Temple. The Romans ensigns in the temple. The Dome of the rock on the temple mount? . These horrible events happen because of sin. Alas who can live when God does this. Ships will come from the coast of Chittim(west), and shall subdue asshur(Iraq) and shall subdue Eber(Hebrew) and he shall perish forever. The westernmost country in the world is trying to subdue modern day Iraq and is trying to restrain Israel in order to accomplish this.

From Critical Articles Dear Brother in our Lord Jesus Christ: I have sent the letter below to P. Andrew Sandlin hoping for a reply. After sending two emails I have yet to recieve a reply. If you would like to post this letter on your website, it might get a speedier reply. May God bless your ministry. In Christ, Brian Hildebran >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

LETTER TO P. ANDREW SANDLIN

Just resending this email in the event you lost it or have forgotten to reply to it. I know that you are busy, but maybe you could find time to simply answer my questions. I again, thank you for your time. Brian Hildebran

Dear Andrew Sandlin: I have just read your Open Letter to Ligionier Ministries and am surprised by the use of Dispensational error to portray the predominate theory of Eschatology of the Church visible today. It is not that I don't believe that Dispensatinalism is an error, but that you use "soft" words to your fellow futurists when rebutting their heresy. Or is Dispensationalism not heresy? Is it "just" an error? Could you explain to me why it is an error and not heresy i.e. How do you know to distinguish between the two? How do you know Dispensationalism is an error and (full) Preterism is a heresy? What makes Dispensational an error only and what makes (full) Preterism a heresy? According to your thinking they are both in error, correct? Then why is (full) Preterism considered heresy and Dispensationalism not? I have only one thought that might be the answer and that is Preterism cannot be applicable in the creeds, but Dispensationalism or its futurist outlook can. Is this the assertion? Is it because Dispensationalism is more orthodox an error than (full) Preterism? Therefore it is classified an error instead of a heresy? How do you know that the creeds support Post-Millennialism more than Dispensationalism? more than (full) Preterism? How do you know that the creeds support the correct theory of Eschatology? Could they not be in error themselves or heretical concerning eschatology? Since the Church is "reformed and always reforming" couldn't this be true? If not, how do you know? I have posed many questions that you seem to provide no answers to as of yet. I look forward to a reply. Thank you for your time and energy. >From a fully Reformed Preterist, Brian Hildebran. P.S. Because I am a (full) Preterist, let that not deter you from answering the above questions. They are all I wish to have answered in your reply. We can discuss or I can read more of your articles afterwards. Permission is hereby given to publish this letter for public observance if the receiver Andrew Sandlin so wishes.

The following is conversation/debate between myself and a Father of an Orthodox Church from the FIRST CHURCH: The Society of St. Joseph of Arimathea. The debate was on Convenant Theology and Eschatology. Below is a great example of how Dispensational Futurism is incapable of handling Preterism. Father Jim Rosselli's webpage is: http://www.desertwatch.net/ He can be reached at: frjim@angelfire.com Write him today! And let him know what you think about his antics and sarcastic demeanor. Let him know his behavior is unacceptable as a Church Father! --- Dear Matt, I've been trying to think what to say to you, for close to a month, now. The only thing that comes is to urge you to get a realistic grip on yourself and your situation before God, and to stop insisting on being a horse's ass. In 2 Tim 2:14-18, God, through St. Paul, condemns the notion that the Resurrection has already happened, and rebukes Hymenaus and Philetus as traders in empty words and disruptors of peoples' faith. As far I can see, you haven't disrupted anyone's faith. Orthodox believers have a long and thorough Catechumenate, at the end of which they're pretty solidly anchored. You have, however, certainly traded in empty words. Your website is one of the most impressive testaments I've ever seen to high-quality, well-thought-out and painstaking, wasted labor. What prodigious effort: piling words upon words, citing (and often abusing, but that's neither here nor there) source after source, all for what? For an effort that's doomed from the start, because the Word of God has already declared it's a load of crap. Matthew, you are a promising young man: handsome, obviously intelligent, probably from a good background. So, life is occasionally boring. What do you do to set yourself apart, in a world where everybody rebels against convention by wearing his (and her) Sperry Topsiders without socks? If you are of a spiritual mind, maybe latch on to some outrageous heresy and set about seeing if you can convince people of it; become a figure of controversy, a talked-about agitator, a challenger of minds. Been there, lad, done that. Got the polo shirt. Wasted precious and irreplaceable time. Squandered talent. Flushed years. You will, too, if you aren't prepared to listen to anyone but yourself. What are you looking for, Matt? For the world to tell you you've got a free pass, because you're so brilliant? It won't. There aren't any. At any level. All the passes cost, whether you live in a trailer park or in the White House. And one day you wake up and realize you aren't a promising twenty-three-year-old anymore, and that now you're expected to keep the promise. You aren't a "young theologian testing yourself," Matt. Where are you studying theology? Under whose guidance is your soul? Under whose tutelage is your mind? Where is the professional and spiritual community before whom you must test your assertions? What you are is a young guy with a decent mind, who is testing a novel and tasty ("daring" might be the word you'd use--I bet you think this song is about you...) heresy. The fact that it was specifically denounced in the Bible just makes it sexier. I don't know if you have any actual interest in Jesus Christ, Matt, or in becoming a Christian. I do know that what you pretend to be peddling isn't going to bring you any closer to Him, and that if you keep up the pretense long enough you might actually start to hang your self-image on this bullshit, and acquire a real emotional need to defend it. Choose Christ, Matt. From the outside, He looks pretty dull, in need of a makeover and a new wardrobe. But those who know Him have embarked on an incomparable adventure. I hope one day you'll want to hop on for the trip. Fr. Jim

Truth is Truth. The teachings of Jesus Christ are good human development. Science is not questions, which is what theory is, but the answers. Repeatable Scientific Ethics Democracy Productivity Formula Pollution Solution Scientific Laws in Human Development. Developing Skills in Productive Fields of Interest. Do you give positive attention while one is being good? According to Doctor Fitzhough Dodson some learned the only way to receive attention was through inappropriate behavior. As long as one was good one may have been ignored. Some who ignored others when they were good may have felt compelled to give instant focused attention for inappropriate behavior. Misbehavior was therefore attention. Misbehavior became a social life. The person thought the behavior was who they were. Others believed the behavior was who the person was also. The behavior received attention from some in the environment and allied forces producing further teasing for social recognition. While wasting productive time other needs failed to be met causing the need to feed off productive forces. Changing who one became depends upon the process. In the past some thought dictated undesirableness would stop unwanted actions. Authoritarians did not know punishment, which is a behavior recognizer, fools by temporarily suppressing behavior while at the same time giving social and self-recognition causing the behavior to repeat. Punishment is both given and received. Punished behavior repeats acquiring neither goodness or obedience. Recognizing the difference between the behavior and the individual do give the individual attention. Doctor Dodson suggests easily gently distracting offering attention in a new direction redirecting the individual to fun learning activities that let the individual know they are valuable and people care their time is spent valuably, that meet needs, and that lead to productive behavior while applying Extinction Technique by giving zero attention to behaviors one does not wish to be repeated. Recognized productive behavior becomes repeated productive behavior. Generative productive personalities develop. Children's productive behavior is the right to have their educational needs met and be actively engaged in the educational process. Scientific studies by recorded observation of behavior under precise behavior recognition conditions produced the results: Recognized behavior repeats, or to quote the results, "Recognized behavior is repeated behavior." as stated in How to Parent, the beginning of the book saying it is written to mothers, by Doctor Fitzhough Dodson which I read July 1974 and applied. Dr. Dodson also wrote How to Grandparent and How to Father. These scientific facts may not have been available to others and you before so forgive others and yourself for the unchangeable past punishment can not change and focus upon life's qualities being specific and investigative. Make a future. Quoting a homes and gardens magazine, "The best way to quit a bad habit is to substitute it with a good habit." Providing fun safe multiple-choice learning experiences for expression in individuality in an environment which is safe to function within develops interest in learning while continual watching and providing for interests extends and expands learning. Extended expanded play learning is Emergent Curriculum in the Early Childhood Education Field. During play children learn to use symbols, written sign verbal pictorial musical constructive language, to communicate. The book One Hundred Languages of Children by Carolyn Edwards is the story of Italy's child development Reggio Emilia Schools. Learning projects at Reggio Emilia are self-discovery projects. The children are free to think through how to construct and measure in their own way. During play the children test their theories. Chapter nine is the true story of a small group of children who draw a life scale dinosaur. The children found a place in the schoolyard large enough to draw a dinosaur. The school provided for the children's access many measuring sticks, 'Rods', for laying side by side showing the precise height and length of the dinosaur. The school spared no rods. The children learned measuring skills used in building societies. The King's foot measurement divided into one dozen makes twelve inches. Cubit rods measure cubits. During projects the teachers engage the children in conversation. Children are inspired to inquisitiveness as a result of the teacher's provocative questions. Projects are displayed at community gatherings giving each child a sense of community. Community observers give recognition of correct principles applied to create each project. Rods used in child education to show quantities are Quizenairy Rods. Each uniform section on the rod is displayed by color. Each consecutive rod is one unit longer. Rods make useful levers. Rods reach under and pull out items a person can not reach. A walking stick is a sturdy rod. Children attain higher principles. Two principles of early childhood education are each classroom has three times as many positive free choice learning activities as the number of children and children are free to ask for their needs. Parent participation preschool in my neighborhood had free choice parent directed learning centers with one parent center for every five children. One parent participated one day a week for each child. Increasing good human development bonds neighborhood families and peers and efficiently creates a four day labor week and one family and community day. Quoting Doctor Fitzhough Dodson, "What is the ultimate goal we are working toward in the training of our children? If we reflect deeply on this question, most of us would say that our ultimate goal is to produce an adult who has learned self-regulation, who has learned to exercise his freedom in a responsible way." "A baby's wants are a baby's needs." "Mother is a baby's first social life." "The learner must be in condition to learn." "Give your child a positive model of what he should do." Mother and Father set an example as learning discovery information gatherers. Family members share learning experiences providing all education attention. A baby wants a social skill development learning day. Infancy is the optimum time to learn social skills thus developing social infants. Social infants tend to have their needs met according to scientific studies by recorded observation. People respond to social infants. (The Developing Person by Kathleen Stassen Berger) Doctor Fitzhough Dodson believes basic honesty is learned through the appropriate meeting of honest needs as in when one is honestly sleepy and honestly hungry. Messages by the blood stream requesting energy are honest biological messages. Baby's respect for personal property is gained by experiencing having personal property others respect. Children who see material thing meeting people's needs connect material things with meeting needs. My coat meets my needs and your coat meets your needs. Children who have their needs met are not busy doing that which is undesirable. Providing places for children to place their needs assures children their material needs are ready and waiting for them when needed. Baby sees others meeting needs and matures into the desire to meet needs also. Respect includes the owner's personal power over decisions to share including consideration and respect to the givers of gifts. When the choice is theirs to make children enjoy sharing. All children need their needs met at all times. (We do also.) My self-regulating infants slept when their bodies needed sleep. Since my infants had interesting active days they slept well at night. During the day they were free to nap. Toddlers wake up hungry for Break/Fast after early A.M. sleeping. Meals and snacks follow naturally. Studies show when a healthy variety of foods are placed upon the table in serving bowls family style children always choose a balanced diet. There are so many healthy choices in the variety of all good foods no one need ever take what one does not like. By choice I have developed a taste for sauerkraut. By experience sauerkraut was a food I had never heard of until junior high. My daughter in her highchair while I was feeding her Campbell's Vegetable Beef Soup ejected every pea. In two months she was eating peas with pleasure. Is it possible she was eating peas with pleasure because I did not force her to eat them? My personal choice of entertainment, reading, and activities being ecological non-fiction I saw the need to educate my children in the difference between non-fiction and fiction the first time they were exposed to fiction entertainment. Since I could only clean wherever I was at wherever I was at was clean. Stepping out of bed the covers went up, dressing one item in the bath was cleaned, walking down the hall the beds were made, and rising up from breakfast the dishes were washed and kitchen cleaned. After relaxing in the afternoon the floors were done. The work was always already done. When I spent my time with the children the house stayed clean. We were actively involved in fun discovery and skill building. Education by experience was direct attentive communication by personal attention or wonderful education filled classroom lectures like circle time and college classes, sing along language skill development, learning projects, free choice positive learning experiences, reading good books, and playground social skills development health education. Reggio Emilia's idea of education also includes community and family social dining. Living the Scientific Laws of Human Development meant we could dine with the results of royalty having our typical lunch experience. I reply, "In 'government for the people, by the people, and of the people' everyone is royalty." Art and spatial relationships classes at college taught me principles of construction, space, design, and perception for skills in creativity. All these principles are repeatable science. The classes are fun. I loved my college classes and believe college has great value. While holding my small baby in my arms I thought of his future. I decided to give him opportunities to learn how to think by enriching his young life with daily valuable opportunities for learning. Personal knowledge would qualify him to choose how to care for people and the earth. Intelligence is applying one's profession to meeting the needs of the people. Raising him filled with the intelligence to know how to choose to apply professional services to serve others the best was my goal. Family fusion, productive energy resulting from family unity, bonds families. Extinct family fission, energy released as a result of family division. People experiencing having their needs met because families are united gains support for united families. Education is the power to direct one's own life. Self-regulating productive play educated persons develop into productive citizens. The process of meeting needs, which used to be called work, is now Playing Productively. Self-Governing peoples form a democracy. Democracy Occurs. World Democracy is National Defense. Peaceful nations is National Defense. National defense is Peaceful World Democracy. We have inherited the great gift of freedom and liberty. Preservation of freedom and liberty assures our future and the future of all. We are the light of Democracy before the world. Good human development brings freedom and liberty. Wrong human development is loss of liberty. One survival cure used in the past in distant places for rebellious reaction to being told what not to do was living in silence. One may feel rejected when one does not know they are in an environment where silence is being practiced. Whether silence is a cure or just preferred now that I know when others prefer silence because their personal selection of quality living is in the reading material they have chosen to add value to the moment I can join them with adding quality to the moment with my own chosen selection of valuable written material. When the mind is filled others enjoy words of value. People travel great distances to listen to learned people talk. Clean living peoples enhance our earth's vitality restoring and nurturing a clean planet. Homes, where good human development develops clean living citizens whose behavior does not need restricting by high energy prices, bring progress toward alternative energy. Workers in oil producing nations are learning skills to advance their nation into higher skilled higher paid services. Citizen's playing productively needs will be met. Good behavior raises the market. The market out competes gas and oil for a profit. Here is the way. The work is ahead. Please keep market coolness, pay everything, and profit take. Please prevent jumping the market causing an investor to interfere with work and mail to buy in low for the next ride up. Scientific advancements in Human Development raise the market every day. There are many stock markets in the world. Good human development develops self-controlled functioning upon knowledge. Wrong human development is exterior dictating resulting in the need for exterior support. To make a living on wrong human development there must be a drawing a circle around a person of exterior controlled what not to dos. The wrong human developers expect enforcers, as themselves, to be paid enforcing what not to dos. The person with the circle of what not to dos drawn around them becomes a slave of doing what not to dos for attention. Everyone becomes a slave to support what not to dos. For those trapped in outdated professions while crying for the world to continue earning a living on wrong human development they or others sometimes convince people good human development and wrong human development are reversed. One solution is new careers in helping office, field, and home-based professions adapt to people's true needs. A word of wisdom, "Avoid the appearance of evil." since punish-mental persons seeing opportunities of evil may believe someone needs controlling. A point on top of the ear indicated holding onto the top of the ear behavior management but they grew up to be men with a great deal of power. In the story of Brer Bear, and Brer Fox, and Brer Rabbit, Brer Rabbit was stuck in the tar baby. Brer Bear and Brer Fox were thinking of what to do with Brer Rabbit since they had made the tar baby to catch Brer Rabbit. Brer Rabbit said, "Please, don't throw me in the briar patch." Brer Bear and Brer Fox threw Brer Rabbit in the briar patch. Brer Rabbit jumped up and down and said, "I told you not to throw me in the briar patch. The Briar Patch is my home." A caught con wants the protection of thick walls where all his needs are met for the length of time society will be angry. Where does a con not want you to throw him? Society wants to be free from the con not knowing how to meet his needs appropriately. Everyone is happy so the process is not punishment other than being with everyone else society is angry at however a con is in joint company while innocent persons are not but does it develop people into meeting needs appropriately? Good behavior develops mentally and physically healthy people. Doctors and nurses earn a living being leaders in mental and physical health and curing those who profit by wrong human development and communism since what they made a living on is outdated prehuman development. Your health, not your unhealth, will be rewarding to the Doctor and nurse. The Doctor and nurse need you as well as you needing them so once you are healthy do remember the entire medical profession and all supporting fields still need to make a living. It is your turn to make them feel loved. Freeing people from past captivities is worthy employment. Hiring a lawyer with success in accomplishing right gives co-security for the right since you have the right to offer the lawyer while the other might have the wrong to offer. Lawyers help the balance in society of rebelliousness counteracting obeying a dictator the amount of rebelliousness in society being equal to the amount of dictating. Being caught in the trap is not necessary for those who do not practice dictating or being dictated unto. Many successful companies have their own insurance department. Intelligence adds value to the environment and the economy. Developed productive persons may be taught through fables defense against obedient enslavement to exterior commands and orders by punished no-self-control requesting the exterior control they were raised upon manipulators and their motives to gain go power by feeding untruth for others to function upon believing others are wrong to be so naive. Wrongdoing does not feed itself. If something needs exterior support is there wrong doing which must be feed by exterior support? Exterior support causes pollution. Productivity is fun. People who tell you what not to do may be rebellious themselves and while you are not picking up your baby and holding your baby their not picking up their baby and holding their baby is imagination. I listened to my baby and let such advice sail off in the wind. With the help of carriers and snuggles holders my baby was always with me. My baby was so positively directed active holding him became treasured moments. Clean safe places for the crawler to explore while being carefully watched develops the brain and body. Goal focusing keeps Toddlers going in a positive direction. Climbing is a toddler stage that can be easily provided for by many happy moments of climbing up and sliding down. Children's physical activity educates the brain in how fast the body is growing helping develop coordination the brain appreciating the goodness physical activity gives to the body. The arms growing longer than the brain knows results in a glass of milk being pushed over before the hand can clasp the glass. Cups with handles are useful during growth spurts. Raising the level of average is how to get ahead without leaving others behind. The best human developers served in many lands accomplishing goal oriented human development around the world. Human development knowledge is catching up with world progress. We know behavior that supports life. Man are meadow makers when "The more edge the better around a meadow for the wildlife to go in and out of the forest safely to graze on grass the sunlight can reach." Rule changes rectangle clear cuts from ugly useless patches to useful functions within the forests providing meadows. Grazing causes Native American grasses to thrive. The Land of Milk and Honey (Bible) which is now desert with intelligent planning again returns to Lands of Milk and Honey. Shawna my American River Biology Teacher said, "Deserts repel rain, and trees and plants attract rain." Deserts, I believe are not natural earth habitats but man made literal ruins from ancient civilizations. Where deserts are today were man's natural places upon the earth were man fit into the ecosystem. Planting one tree in the middle will not turn deserts back into Milk and Honey Lands but Suburban and Urban Forests (Magazine Urban Forests) begin around the rim and grow inward. Soil is a mixture of sand, clay, and humus. Many deserts already have the sand. Lizards make good pets and adapt to nature centers. Ground burrowers aerate and fertilize soil, and build underground rivers allowing rainwater to absorb rather than striking the top of hard unpenetrable ground carrying off topsoil. Quality feeding ground burrowers is a valuable contribution to nature. Before deserts repelled moisture causing it to rain on Noah's mountain and flood down into the valley mists watered the earth at night. Melting snow mist crystals flow into streams. Man has advanced his knowledge of caring for the earth. More permanent roads may not be needed since we will be free to have alternative air transport, most populations live along waterways, and home life will be enjoyable and productive. My high school Biology teacher taught our class about wind factors. When one is driving 55 miles an hour in still air a 55 mile an hour wind is blowing on the front of the car. Capturing the wind in wind tunnels containing many small whirling pinwheels keeps electricity going to the battery of an electric car, boat, or airplane. Extending the length of the vehicle the wind tunnels leave clean air in back. My children being positively directed I was never afraid of their being perpetual motion. Being free to move as a result of their good behavior they enjoyed still activities. Science is all known measurable or related truths and newly revealed truths in the search for truth. The eighth edition of Science and Technology McGraw-Hill Encyclopedia defines science as, "The study of nature and natural phenomena." Scientists categorize truth and those categories are called sciences. The first sentence of many books is "This is the science of . . ." The rule of science is, "All science is Repeatable." For newly discovered results to be presented as science to the scientific community a scientist must establish a written formula with written step just like a construction plan producing the same results every time just like a construction plan. Scientists have taken all possible combinations of chemical reactions and discovered life does not come from non-life by chemical reactions therefore we do know it is not possible to begin life by any combination of chemical reactions. Scientists can write a formula with all possible combinations of chemical reaction and the results. The formula will always obtain repeatable results of the combination of all possible chemical reactions. Those results are science. Scientists can write a formula with repeatable results that sustain life. We are the receivers of all accumulated knowledge throughout history of how to sustain life. Knowledge keeps developing. We do know time is infinite. Time always was. Was there time without life? Life always was. Life forms complement each other. If your house is clean you are the life form in the house. If your house needs cleaning nature will add life forms such as ants. If your yard is clean you are the life form in the yard. If your yard needs cleaning nature will add life forms such as flies. If you are clean and flies come to your picnic they are just the neighbor's yard cleaners. An old American Indian proverb is life is growing short if one sees an owl face to face. Owls feed on mice cleaners. If the environment supports survival of long winged owls long winged owls will be surviving parents for the next generation. Rotting behavior is not life. Some rotting behavior may believe it can live if people are dirtied and more people are convinced to find a way for rotting behavior to live. The earth is our home. Maintaining our home and our life is our responsibility. Man keeps advancing his knowledge of how to sustain life. I am greatful to all my ancestors for developing the science of sustaining life. The whole natural foods of the earth complement the needs of our body. Scientists use tools called theories in their search for truth. A theory is the question, "Could this be true?" Theories are questions used in the search for answers. For bad guys going good protection from old associates still expecting bad guy cooperation may be acquired in the future by teamwork in going good anonymous. All a guy needs to say to his old associates is he is a member of going good anonymous and he is free of expectations of being bad and free to be good for a living. Providee positive effect on provider ability to provide may result in possible continued providee provider relationship. Families are the soil where people are developed into good students. Addressing the subject of obedience, what are a two year old's communication skills? Doctor Dodson says "A two year old may not be able to obey the same as a six year old.", and if one is taught the only reason one does or does not do something is because someone says they might not know the other reasons and when the someone who says to or not to is not able to control there is no other reason. Inability to reason results. Inability to reason is the cause of low class. Forced obedience causes rebellion. Forced obedience and rebellion are connected not forces obedience and goodness. Rebellious may accuse any goodness as being the result of obedience. Productivity is power. Power used to support meeting needs is desirable. Power used to tell someone what to do or not do causes lack of ability to reason resulting in inability to survive without exterior support. Inability to reason is given less power in society by giving one whole class the same assignment and grading each child on how well they completed the assignment causing a division between the classes to determine professions. With less power to tell people what to do or not to do what crossing over their circle of what not to dos deceptive ways are used to gain power to tell people what to do or not to do? How many people do they want power over? What powers have been and are being captured to tell people what to and not to do? The records switching project where the records of the good students were switched with the records of the poor students to see how the teachers grade the following years will be used to learn from to apply objective grading rather than fission families. I was one of those students my report card for the three quarters of the school year after Marysville flooded being filled in with undesirable marks while I was unable to attend school the Yuba City school and schools in the area taking in all the children they could but my birthday being at the end of the year I was low priority. I received an A in Behavior Observations and know how to write objective reports. When in grade school the teacher graded upon number of answers right the grades I was switched with became 100% with dependability. To tell others what to do or not to do may not be effective. Engaging children in quality activities is effective. If we are effective with some but not all people will start wondering about a division in the classes and may do the equivalent of a record switch. Providing education to meet the needs of each student makes education fulfilling rather than giving one whole class the same assignment and grading each child on how well they completed the assignment in order to create a division between the classes to determine professions but also creating a division that keeps growing wider. A positive self-concept is everyone's need. Doctors and nurses no longer need to nurse the long line of failure causing a division between the classes used to lower into a life of mindless work. Solutions for the future do not include upside downing history in order to reverse the continually wider division between the classes. Black hats are switched with white hats their qualifications being what they know about while sometimes testing how much authority can get away with, and mental health workers thinking they already know everything anyway using their power to cheat their way through college and to abuse people believing abuse is the power to tell people what to and not to do while saying if they were treated like that they would be crazy therefore everyone is crazy having people join being crazy for profit with a social life. Having been judged in the past they defend for the future by judge-mental ness bate profits. Those who cheat call success idealistic or unrealistic and spend their lives working to teach people the way things really are. Example, "It's the nineties." Those who try very hard and do not succeed may be jealous of people who do succeed. What results from jealousy? Abusers knowing the abused does not know the source of abuse may in kind friendship advise they be paid to take revenge on others in behalf of the abused in order to disable the abuse resulting in the abusers being paid to controllingly abuse others while the abused believes the abuse is not yet disabled and the controlling abusers taking credit for their ruling the lives of others being why people who studied work productively in care and service to others. Some who want to elevate themselves out of menial labor obtain money to pay menial labor with profits on physical repair. Who did it for money and power? Warning of danger becomes controlling by danger. The premises for high class deserving to be switched to low class are based upon high class knowing not to talk to the inability to reason that people will know how it feels to have people not talk to them either thus attributing not talking to people being based upon finances rather than low class inability to reason and changing whose decision it is not to talk to people unless being paid to talk to people payment also including being bribed, based upon high class being too high to see other people's problems, based upon the assumption of high class being the result of others being pushed down, based upon false assumptions switching finances switches sanities thus resulting in the definition of finances, and based upon false accusation of high class hurting the feelings of low class by having low class manners. In the information era the average productive intelligence will be greater than the greatest in history. Educated people are personally qualified to determine how to earn a living meeting people's needs having their own needs and the needs of their family met in return. Our Stewards are our greatest asset in a world changing from being prepared for failure to being prepared for success in human development. Looking at the labor force as a whole with all workers contributing to the needed labor helps show wages increase in all fields for everyone who accomplishes professional adaptation, thus contributing to the economy. The future is a new place. Faith has developed into knowledge and keeps advancing into knowledge of the laws of physics, society development, logic, and reasoning so one can appear to break the laws of physics while actually functioning upon them. Erik Erickson famous child psychologist said at the age of eighty, "Play your whole life." Knowing human development protects one from not knowing when one sees or experiences wrong human development. The Bible defines the adversary as "the accuser" or as my mother said, "What they say is what they are." which is the only thing they can make a living on. Accusers may slander to excuse their own behavior claiming revenge and to capture productive energy forcing choices of joining slave people to support behavior that does not support itself or be slaved. What reverse psychology is used by the con to gain being punished into what is wanted for all time as a result of being coldly rejected? How does taking a stand for the right cause an evil soul to burn and say, "You made me burn." in response to objections of being slandered and slaved? Some family members of profiteers who get their needs met by wrong doing gain wealth by sturring up trouble. Those who cry about being abused are accused of reacting which may cause someone to harm back who makes a living on what they are which is fine to them but undesirable to others because their profit system is different which they prefer. If one tells them what you are paying them so much money for will they make sure of it? If people say why workers fled and come to serve will powers of exterior support make sure of it? How are products and services sourced? The goal is developing what they are and say into earning a living. May you be productive and free. Productive Self-Governing Citizens is the goal. But the fruit of the Spirit is Love, Joy, Peace, Kindness, Goodness, Faithfulness, Gentleness, Self-Control, against such there is no law. From verse 22 of 5th Galatians. We need to develop a science of how to develop into productivity influences such as ones who plan to make a secure continual living on wrong human development and gain business by giving bad advice. I work with providers who elevate by educating and providing quality living. Hoping this information brings freedom. While researching I asked a man, "If someone hit you would you work?" He said, "Of course No." Someone who was trying to run people's lives on the basis of his thinking which was invalid reasoning said he has been doing so with everyone else's life before mine which could explain the long recession. Cries of wrong doing bring the response, "He will get his." share. Choosing your own course and sticking with your own course lets people know you choose your path in behalf of others and the earth. Biological feedback equipment can detect body functions and transmit discomfort causing one to buy relief eliminating brains putting dictators in power. All energy is convertible to useful energy. Redirect to honest earnings. Discourage stock in over the counter repair and profits from other repair also which may be used to cause further need of repair. Biofeedback equipment can also detect the professor's movements, steal the consciousness off the brains of the students, and lip read as it did during the draft. Not having studied a dictator's thinking has no educational foundation but is propaganda which violates the laws of logic, if-then-therefore, and the laws of reasoning, deductive and inductive, or is not supported by evidence. Example of violations of the laws of logic and reasoning: The conclusion that violates the laws of reasoning, which are stated in chapter one of plane geometry, at the end of paragraph fifty-two of the Unabomber Manifesto is based upon two violations of the laws of logic in the Unabomber Manifesto. We need national defense to support citizens earning an honest living. Combat does not prevent communism but is the cause as in China after the Boxer Rebellion and in Russia after loss of manpower after combat. America has been in a thirty year recession from which America is just coming out. The military need not feel it needs to develop people into needing to be controlled for military job security. Raphael said, "It is easy to get two people sitting next to each other fighting. Someone hits one over the back of the head. He thinks it is the other and hits the other over the head." The more one hits the other over the head the more one is hit over the back of the head because the one hit over the back of the head always thinks it is the other. Is fighting good for wrong human development profiteering businesses the business of war driving the whole world crazy for love of money and power? Others may win at their own game drawing big powers into the conflict on their side by making the other look in the wrong. Appearing as they really are is covered to a communist who can exterior support phony appearances of innocence and peace. Yes, Communists are wrong human development profiteers, profiting from people living on their own and others' wrong human development by living on support from others. However, reverse logic is not valid logic therefore not proving all wrong human development profiteers to be communist but still living on wrong human development profiteering. What portion of our taxes support wrong human development profiteering? If the China military earned a living on world unity the China military could support world unity. If the world militaries earned a living supporting world unity the world militaries could support the China military supporting world unity. Would a military government leader maintain power by sturring up trouble with other military forces in the world? Some military personnel have been using military power to cross over their circle of past exterior controlled what not to dos for the purpose of being supported to dictate. World wrong human development is world military dictatorship. As a result of events in biblical recorded history, "And they blessed Rebekah, and said unto her, Thou art our sister be thou the mother of thousands of millions, and let thy seed possess the gate of those which hate them." we have many keepers of the gate. To quote a keeper of the gate, " I was just trying to turn you into a keeper of the gate." adding the explanation heaven needed a gate keeper. Gate keepers, co-dependent upon wrong human development, how many gate keepers do we need? Education is the foundation for governing, an educated citizenry being qualified to self-govern. Equipment used to bypass studying deletes qualifications to govern. One does not want one who did not study telling anyone what to do. Would military personnel gain job security, fame, and dictatorship by attacking the people while making another peoples look responsible? Does world trade decrease the business of war? Is an act of war good for the business of war? For military power and profits how easy is it to get people from the same country on airplanes? A new department of the reserves adapting military to civilian earnings needs military support by being rewarding. How was the radar over the Pentagon and on top of the world trade buildings functioning? The Doctors both physical and mental will have lots of work curing the elderly and military who profit by communism and profit by supporting the dictatorship side of a conflict as a result of people being attacked by one side of a conflict who makes the other side look like the attacker. Please contract the military to recognize and establish their own good behavior toward citizens of Democracy and developing Democracies though advancing world Democracy closes military bases. World good human development will put the military out of work. The military since their existence is the result of wrong human development may need positive directing by the government of self-governing peoples. We need to be managing the military and helping military personnel adapt. Emergency response has already been tried. Emergencies can be created. Peaceful border control needs to continue being in the hand of people who benefit from peace. Protection is developing others into meeting needs productively. Many meet their needs by pity and believe they are doing others a favor by meeting other's needs by pity also causing bawling for a living while coming between one and one's right to earn a living. What does, "Give'em the business." mean? National conflict changing heads of households from men to elderly will not be necessary. Communism thrives by giving bad advice. Elderly who experience their needs are met because families are divided may divide families to meet their needs. Thank you for protecting people from wrong human development advice for supporting militaries, for supporting wrong human development profiteers, for eliminating the competition for quality elderly care, and to fission families into service to them all. Is all abuse and terror good for wrong human development profiteering? Does polluting eliminate the competition? Thank you for educating people out of being exterior controlled to prevent too overeducated to become slaves. Elderly care by the community means elderly receive care by the good human community development they have developed and are developing. In the past elderly may have learned to have their needs met in conditions of snowballing wrong human development while these conditions were not good for the rest of society. Please redirect to Democracy Elderly Care. For continued quality elderly care society needs to be strong. Powers for exterior support will no longer count elderly as big power for dictatorship that is supported by the people's labors. Since the constitution places the people over the military not the military over the people as citizens we need to manage a military containing some air force personnel using military power and time to work in behalf of their God who they plan to come and tell everyone what to do with the help of the military the military attacking people's brains making limitations that people will loose their freedom to wrong human development profiteers helping tell people what to do also, some people being told to attack other people's brains that others can receive the same financial reward system by living on the people. Is it safe in the air? Biofeedback equipment used to steal the consciousness off people's brains leaves the population defenseless to a dictator's inability to reason, the inability to reason used as power to control to wrong. Having brains is the legal definition of life. No one wants to be a robot. For the inability to logic and reason to attempt to seduce others into joining them brains may have been attacked first. The night of the hits I dreamed one form with many faces said, "We proved we have the power to hit. Now you have to do whatever we say." If one lets them control the plane, where will it go? Since power is their goal doing what they say gives them power. Dictators have not studied. If they had they would know better. Do those who develop thieves expect to be exterior supported? Is the leader of thieves a thief? Was national defense stolen by thieves for their defense and applied to the power of thieves? When around the corner within walking distance the sermon after the attack was about how the terror attack was driving people to God and they hoped we did not need too many more of these things before people turned to God I knew the predator ate the shepherd and his wife the medical attendant was feeding on the flock abused bodies medical profiteers masterminding terror and war for a profit. The attack was holy terror dictatorship that needs to be exterior supported. Predators among the flock may jointly think it is all just a con to get people to be good, however, the flock was gathered and founded upon teachings which are good society development and good human development, therefore, people are good. Productive creative human development is heaven on earth and heaven in the future. Are they afraid to come out and work the only thing they can make a living on being to drive society crazy? Where was the sermon we went to hear? Dictatorship is based upon violations of the laws of intelligent thought processes. Punish-mental persons setting others up to be accused my give dictators power over workers acquiring labor to support telling peoples what to and not to do. Telling people what to and not to do does not support itself. Men who are warriors may be supported instead of supporting leaving the work to the woman and others. Raphael said, "When white man came to America they found woman doing all the work and thought they could improve on a system like that." and "Treat a tramp like a lady and treat a lady like a tramp." Intelligence is slandered when F grades are switched to A grades resulting in wrong thinking it is right and people saying intelligence is dangerous. The F grade thinking it is right is a dictator needing to be freed from bossing people. Good looking dictators may be used by powers of exterior support because good looking is supposed to be able to get away with bossing. An F grade may mess up thought processes with intent. Function on an education, not on what an F grade says. Education functions. The amount of punish-mental ness is equal to the amount of need for war profits. How is punish-mental ness used to fuel war? Have punish-mental people made punishment look like suicide in the past? Can punishment be made to look like suicide bombing? Does people being harmed while going after a suspect embarrass some out of going after the real guilty party? The King's job was to protect his kingdom. Not being naive was a requirement for his job. A king had to know his sociology. The king had to see to all the needs of his people. Being king was not a job for complacency or dictating. If being king began to look like exterior support or dictating to people in his kingdom who he allowed hunger for exterior support and dictating, exterior supported dictatorship, he lost his job and his kingdom. Some Military personnel may be trapped by unconsciousness into the only way they can have their needs met. Rasputin may have been already needing exterior physical electrical processes support. If the Czar's relatives and Czararina Alexandria had scientific knowledge we have today they may have been able to give Rasputin life and protected by adjusting exterior enforcements thus permitting plus teaching others to meet their needs productively. We may all have our own Rasputins controlling by unconsciousness who can live without personal physical energy processes better than anyone else while living for attention and be working on solutions. The more exterior what not to dos they are given the more exterior support they need. Exterior what not to dos and exterior support are attention and can be mistaken for love. At school one child punched another child in the tummy and then threw himself down kicking and screaming as if he was the one punched. Was I supposed to accuse the other person? A false prophet is one prophesying the results of their own punishing. A genius whose contribution is valuable to the world is exempt from the draft. Futurentology. Scientific Peace Formula. Quality Parenting and Teaching equals Democracy. Researcher Janet Hartwick. Thank You for GREAT SERVICE ! ! ! Thank You Minute Women and Minute Men. Intellectual Materials Copyright. My Testimony in Peace Parenting Written 1996 and Published, updated. Prosperity spread through many lands during a time of great depression as a result of the people being taught the teachings of their three great prophets Abraham teaching one God, Moses teaching the ten commandments, and Jesus teaching the first and second great commandments 'Thou salt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like unto it. Thou salt love thy neighbor as thyself. On these two commandments hang all the laws of the prophets.' by Mohammad who joined a camel caravan at the age of fourteen. How easy is it for the anti-Christ to get two peoples who believe in the teachings of Jesus fighting? Professional Adaptation Education from being prepared for failure to being prepared for success in human development needed. One wrong human development major minored in adaptation to good human development. Hopefully in the future there will be a law requiring alternative sources of income for wrong human development profiteers. Forever innocence investigated forever is forever pay. Professional adaptation causes less competition for people living on wrong human development. What can be done for the policeman who is mad at innocence because what will he do for money? Professional Adaptation Please. Protect your child from being turned into a wrong human development profiteer by wrong human development profiteers because your child is good. A separate interested party seeing to the future of children that does not earn a living on wrong human development is needed. Wrong human development profiteers accusing and gaining prey by the legal process, sometimes holding court, and eating the results is cannibalism. Cannibals hate "self-righteous" people and accuse the other before being accused especially when having done something wrong. What does a cannibal call winning? What does friends and popularity mean to a cannibal? How does a cannibal play on people's good intentions? How does a cannibal play on people's obedience and duty to job? Would they choose a thief for their leader? Whose profit system is harming people? Is a cannibal in love with being crazy for profit with a social life? One person's complaint of being abused while the abuser was pointing a finger at her and calling her crazy received the response the abuser's family was in the mental health business and they could only make a living on what they were winning at what they were better than anyone else their considering her sanity a hard nut to crack. While they are inflicting people with their inability to reason, they are willing to be paid to give the cure to see things their way by forcing people to talk to the inability to reason. The opening Pandora's box look of "Let them do anything they want?" excuse for punishing indicates lack of leadership, lack of supervision, lack of providing positive choices of things to be doing, lack of providing, lack of providing and being good companionship, and lack of education in enjoying the good things in life. Does an extended related family member of mental health profiteers joining a religion and making a phony marriage unwanted by the bride who was engaged when she did not want to be as a result of hearing herself say yes against her wishes to his, "This is your last chance. Will you marry me?" with a two night honeymoon of falling asleep watching him sit in an easy chair in a dark room with the light of the T.V. facing him reflect his shape preceding fainting regularly after having the flue for over a month to come to, to see him come through the room door bare-chested holding a plunger, that was alibied with darling artificially inseminated children acquired by standing on one's head while assuming for four years he came home at night not being able to wait up till midnight for another year his not being there when she awoke during the four years and deceiving the people into opening Pandora's box to control a person out of real marriage where she learned microscopic does not always mean not seen upon sight with years of not having the flue after years of having the flue back into a phony marriage but really into twenty-four hour three hundred and sixty-five day a year live-in elderly care eliminate the competition for elderly care, Sunday the day of rest, in behalf of dictatorship? Asking to prove a phony marriage may result in revengeful wild accusations. Another purpose for pulling a phony marriage may have been to make marriage look like exterior control abuse making doing right look like the result of exterior control abuse and doing wrong looking better than wrongful abuse to change wrong to right making doing wrong look justified. Revenge upon people who do not believe in harming people or doing revenge is harming without being harmed back. Pulling a phony marriage upon descendants of Abraham because Abraham's Grandson Jacob had two wives, Rachel and Leah, for revenge upon plural marriage is upon people of a different time and different circumstances. When Raphael said it was a fact that he hated his mother I did not know he belonged to a group of motherhood hater mental health profiteers seeking power. Not being judge-mental because one sees their own wrong doing does not mean people are judge-mental because they are innocent. Having knowledge in behavior management, a husband does not need to be so afraid of behavior he keeps his wife in bed every day by placing his fingers on her pressure points while she sleeps or if caught sprinkles dehydrated rattle snake venom on her bed sheets. Communism and religion do not mix. Democracy elderly care is good for the people. Let's lead and provide. Discipline discipl(in)e , meaning disciple of, is being positively engaged in enriching activities. Mary the mother of Baby Jesus was artificially inseminated other babies of artificial insemination not being alone. This script is sent to you without request for purse. Anyone asking for purse may be fueling wrong behavior. Raising the market may attract calls for pity rewards from wrong human development profiteers placing themselves in your hands the hands of professional adaptation rather than you in theirs for a living. Anyone calling saying they represent me, it is not true but representatives of the records switchers seeking financing for highly expensive constant moral physical financial and spiritual abuse to drive workers to live in elderly service. Warnings have turned to promises of physical abuse to support the medical profession living on taxes to support communism and to support people needing money to pay the medical profession by working for communists, slander and slave, being slandered and abused out of other work, and turned to spiritual dictating by suspected threat of abuse (supersition) to back-seat drive people's lives . Feel free to generate upon any of my work. Do give all sources credit. Permission to Copy, Publish, and Broadcast. Where there abused bodies medical profiteers in the Donner Party resulting in the Donner Party being trapped at Donner Summit? Please check the descendants of the Donner Party that settled below the snow line in California. How are they profitting? The related extended family members of military psychiatrist Dr. Hamm and his former wife of Woodside Way Auburn California have given and plan to give me the business following me to Portland, Missoula, and Billings evil spiriting harm. One can tell a cheating spirit because it will disagree with the text book. The related family members of their friend Mr. Cook are here too. Are they giving others the business also? Did they bring with them the person who was angry at people in eastern USA. Did the military follow me to Portland, Missoula, and Billings spiritually dictating, robbing my time, and leaving signs of physical abuse? Did descendents of the Donner Party follow me by military transport? The military is over twenty percent of the nation's pollution. Early in the 1980's Susan Sweet said, "In 1984 the pigs will take over the world." I did not know what she meant. In 1984 calling to make an order with the food co-op Susan started I told her I had helped my nieces and nephews move to the city of Vacaville California where their father could be closer to work instead of continuing to make a long commute. I also told her we had gone to family fishing day at Folsom Lake. Since I had been placed in the care of a sick abusive person as a child I told Susan I had made sure my children were in good care and others might be advised to be sure of the same. Did Susan Sweet override my caution? Did Susan cause the pigs to take over the world? The imposter may be a pig. No one will believe a military pilot formerly of closed Mather Air Force Base who is angry Democracy closed his base down and has abused me for the last ten years by military power because my profession is good human development which results in Democracy is the real Terrorist and succeeded in terror bringing in war profits to support him and his life style and others who live his life style but please prevent him from further acts of terror. I have been abused and if I am abused by him for his profits and others who join him for profits who else are they abusing military war games not needing to play both sides having real Democracy to play spiritual and physical war upon? Please disconnect power of the military over the labor force to reveal exterior supported phony appearances supporting exterior supported phony appearances. I am at the present in Billings Montana and have been followed here by wrong human development profiteers. Please protect me and others from abuse and terror by war profiteers. Their acts of terror really did result in war. How much more terror to bring in war profits does he need? The military living on communism instead of being successful fighting communism, they will live on terror instead of being successful fighting terror giving the appearance of fighting terror to cause terror. Please protect the nations in the future from terror to stur up war thus causing loss of man power which causes communism which supports militaries. Were the terrorists seduced by the dark side? Is immorality nothing more than wanting attention, attention being mistaken for love and having needs met? While walking past Dr. Hamm's house on my way to college when his second son walked up to me and said he had touched everyone and everything in a marital way and everyone else was to it also so would I do it with him I was naive to think people could stop him since they would not want him to touch them. I said I heard touching a frog gives warts. He also said his father knows the only reason people are nice is because they have alterior motives. He said marriage was only selfish female security. If he meant to say his father knows the only reason people are nice is because they have ulterior motives telling people what to and not to do he did not say at that time. At another time he said his big brother was "developing biofeedback" equipment for "medical" purposes. Please protect the earth. In the high school cafeteria he had said "All men are garbage." Upon my look of disagreement, after all Mr. Cleaveland was my fifth grade teacher, he said under his breath, "All men are trash." Is he out to prove his point? Does he plan to use trash to whip people into slavery? We need a better way to acquire labor than to make a mess for the explosion to drive people to live-in elderly care to imposters in luxurious gowns. How many are sacrificed to the God of telling people what to do and what not to do, the God of inability to logic and reason? A wrong human development profiteer knowing the only reason he is nice is using invalid thought processes to accuse people who are nice to have the same motives. The inability to logic and reason may do unto others before others do unto them what is deserved playing life like a chess game making the first moves. Not having ever liked seducer behavior I was naive to think others did not like seducer behavior also and did not know the seduced becoming seducers sought jointly to obtain power. Dr. Hamm's son's dark look alike cousin crossed the street in front of me as I walked to work June 10th. His frizzy hair was thinner than Dr. Hamm's son's thick frizzy blond hair. The adversary accuses the Lord and ones who believe in doing right claiming all they have because of past destructions of ancient wrongdoers. Believing most anyone can be convinced to be judge-mental along with others who believe in doing right telling people what to and not to do is their God. People who people believe are not able to be good may be judged less than people who are able to be good. Goodness in necessary to support people. Noah lived to be our great-great-great+++++ grandparent assuring the best parenting. I need a tee shirt that says, "If you are going to slander me, please slander me out of twenty-four hour three hundred and sixty-five day a year live-in elderly care where one becomes conscious to answer the door back into the rest of life where I will freely serve elderly gladly as before as my Scottish mother did." The send from Auto Complete Function on the public computer had my name in all lower case letters which I never do to names proving I have been slandered. I can not do all the elderly care in the world causing me to wonder how the rest of the needed elderly care is being acquired. We need a way to acquire care people can support. Has the record switching project switched people into working of telling people what to or not to do? Who has been switched into teaching human development? If I do not do it, it does not get done, people who work having their own work to do helping when they can, though others are switched into money for my work. Please pay no one. Where does switching life spans leave everyone? People living to be who they really are is embarrassing to those who slander and ones connected with them. How does reward systems results being switched effect the young? Addressing the subject of rewards, good results in good rewards. The beneficiaries of good rewards are all because all who live have their life supported by good works sometimes their own while sometimes their good works support others. Education in knowing what to do puts value in the dollar while telling people what to and not to do takes value out of the dollar. The dollar obtained wrongfully by those who tell people what to and not to do is used to tell people what to and not to do including to give exterior support. Inefficiency is not profit but equals a minus value. Education in knowing what to do replacing telling people what to and not to do increases efficiency. Items used for the body other than nutrition and wholesomeness are inefficient in the economy. Efficiency in the economy replacing inefficiency raises values. Feel free to write a rebuttal on communism the introduction to their book defining history as the rising and falling of powers that capture the forces of productivity. The forces of productivity are milked. Not playing productively, communists are boring. Demands may be cover by and for war profiteers who can say anything about who they are and what their motives are. Honest people know how to meet their needs appropriately. Is war playing war on peace because war needs war for profit? No matter what happens I will continue working for peace. Who is working for foreign relations? My father not being able to be with me instead of working for the FBI had only those who need exterior support to care about and be forced to care for so I have been forced to care for them also however the future of the world needs to be strong and self-sufficient. I work for self-sufficiency. Rather than switching the uneducated with the educated to solve the division between the classes I work for education.

Edward C. Corrigan

Mr. Corrigan has a law degree from the University of Windsor and a Master's in political science from the University of Western Ontario. He advises the reader: "This article is not intended to be a comprehensive study of Jewish criticism of Zionism but only an introductory survey. The author owes a debt to many people in the Jewish community for assistance and would like to thank David Finkel and especially Harriet Karchmer for her help with the material on Orthodox Jews. The writer, of course, bears all responsibility for the material and any errors or omissions."

The Palestinian uprising or intifada and the Israeli campaign to suppress it have caused considerable anguish for many Jews around the world. A large number of Jews have even begun to reassess their support for Israel and critically analyze the ideology of Zionism which legitimates the Jewish state. One example of this phenomenon is a statement that appeared in The Nation on February 3, 1988. It was endorsed by 18 prominent American Jews.

The advertisement called upon American Jews to "dissociate from Israel." It expressed the concern that "the close identification in the public mind between Israel and Jews -- an equation vigorously fostered by both the Zionist movement and the American Jewish lobby, which has come under its control -- threatens to stigmatize Jews everywhere." The ad called for a two-state solution and for negotiations with the Palestine Liberation Organization.1

The statement also discussed past discrimination against the Jews and the horrors of the Nazi Holocaust adding:

How tragic that in our own time the very state established by Jews in the aftermath of this evil has become a place where racialism, religious discrimination, militarism and injustice prevail; and that Israel itself has become a pariah state within the world community. Events taking place today are all too reminiscent of the pogroms from which our own forefathers fled two and three generations ago -- but this time those in authority are Jews and the victims are Moslems and Christian Palestinians.

Those endorsing The Nation statement included Professor Yigal Arens, the son of Moshe Arens; Mark Bruzonsky, former Washington Associate, World Jewish Congress, who now serves as chairperson for the organization; Professor Noam Chomsky, Institute Professor MIT; Rabbi Susan Einbinder, Colgate University; Jane Hunter, publisher of Israeli Foreign Affairs; Jeremy Levin, former CNN Beirut Bureau Chief and former hostage in Lebanon; Professor Don Peretz, Department of Political Science, SUNY; and Henry Schwarzschild, of the American Civil Liberties Union. The subsequent organization they formed, the Jewish Committee on the Middle East (JCOME), has, in the short time that it has existed, attracted well over a thousand signatures endorsing their statement. These include academics at 125 U.S. universities.2

JCOME has challenged pro-Israeli American Jewish leaders to conduct a joint poll to see what American Jews really think about Israel and the Palestinians. To back up their challenge JCOME cited evidence which suggests that there is a divergence of opinion between American Jews and the pronouncements of their "official" leadership. As one example of a difference in opinion JCOME pointed to a poll which showed that 29 percent of American Jews favor negotiations with the PLO.3 However, while this new organization is important, Jewish criticism of Israel's policies and Zionism is not new. They both have deep roots within the Jewish community.

It is clear that the ideology of Zionism has had a profound impact on Jews. Today most Western Jews support its objective of establishing and securing a Jewish state in the territory formerly known as Palestine, even though the majority do not follow its precepts and immigrate to Israel. Historically Zionism was the subject of intense debate. Zionism has always meant different things to different people. It could be interpreted in a religious, political, national or racial light depending upon the circumstances. For some, Zionism was a solution for the age-old problem of anti-Semitism, while for others merely an excuse for getting rid of the Jews. As Hannah Arendt explained, "The Zionist Organization had developed a genius for not answering, or answering ambiguously, all questions of political consequence. Everyone was free to interpret Zionism as he pleased . . . ."4

Zionist leaders have put off indefinitely the attempt to resolve the resulting conflicts and even contradictions generated by different interpretations of Zionism. This explains why the "Jewish state" has no constitution and why many fundamental questions about the nature of Israel remain undefined. The avoidance of a battle over conflicting definitions of what is a Jewish state is one of the reasons why Israel has a vested interest in maintaining the state of war in the Middle East. This interest has been openly acknowledged by a former president of the World Jewish Congress, Nahum Goldmann:

On the day when peace comes, the leftist movement will undoubtedly be very strong in Israel, and it will be anti-Orthodox. A great cultural battle will then break out which, like Ben Gurion, I want to avoid at this moment: as long as war prevails, that kind of internal struggle would be terribly dangerous. But after the hostilities the first thing to do will be to separate religion and state. Today we confine ourselves to telling the leftists: "Don't make a fuss on this question, you will be obstructing our defence policy, which requires national unity" -- and the leftists, being good patriots, give way. But after the peace they will resume the debate.5

Prior to World War II the majority of Jews were non-Zionist, and a large number were openly hostile to Zionism. As Nahum Goldmann wrote, "When Zionism first appeared on the world scene most Jews opposed it and scoffed at it. Herzl was only supported by a small minority."6 It was not until the full horror of the Holocaust was realized that the great bulk of the Jewish community came to support Zionism.

Jewish history is rich in its diversity of ideas and ethical dissent. Many of the Hebrew prophets were "solitary voices" who criticized their people for betraying the great principles of their faith. The prophet Amos, for example, advanced a new interpretation of the "Chosen People" thesis. He wrote: "From all the families of the earth I have chosen you alone; for that very reason I will punish you for all your iniquities." Amos' concept of "chosen" did "not imply the assurance of victory or prosperity" but rather that of "the burden of more severe punishment for 'normal' unrighteousness."7

Amos was even more revolutionary in reinterpreting the meaning of the "Promised Land." To quote Hans Kohn:

Through his mouth the Lord proclaimed that the children of Israel were unto Him no better than the children of the Ethiopians. True, God had brought up Israel out of the land of Egypt; but equally He brought the Philistines (then Israel's hereditary enemies) from Caphtor, and the Syrians from Kir, guiding each one into its land.8

In Amos' view all peoples were entitled to the land they occupied in a spirit of equality and sharing. No one people had special God-given rights.

One of the most critical moments in ancient Jewish history was when Jochanan ben Zakkai, the leading representative of Judaism in his day and the disciple of Hillel, "abandoned the cause of the Jewish state." At the time, the city of Jerusalem was besieged by the Romans and heroically defended by the zealots. Zakkai escaped from the city by a ruse, and with the agreement of the Roman commander, established a Jewish academy at Jabne. Judaism survived while the Jewish state was destroyed.9

In the more recent period, Ahad Ha-am (Hebrew for "One of the People" and the pen name for Asher Ginzberg), one of the greatest Jewish thinkers of this century, was also highly critical of Zionism.10 He drew attention to the fundamental and neglected ethical dilemma of Zionism, namely the presence of the Arabs. In his 1891 report, The Truth from Palestine, he pointed out that "there was little untilled soil in Palestine, except for stony hills and sand dunes." Ahad Ha-am also warned the Jewish settlers against arousing the wrath of the large native Arab population:

Yet what do our brethren do in Palestine? Just the very opposite! Serfs they were in the lands of the diaspora and suddenly they find themselves in freedom, and this change has awakened in them an inclination to despotism. They treat the Arabs with hostility and cruelty, deprive them of their rights, offend them without cause, and even boast of these deeds; and nobody among us opposes this despicable and dangerous inclination.11

Ahad Ha-am wrote this statement when Zionist settlers formed only a tiny portion of the population of Palestine. He also gave the following warning: "We think. . . that the Arabs are all savages who live like animals and do not understand what is happening around. This is, however, a great error."12

Ahad Ha-am worked tirelessly for an intellectual and spiritual revival of the Jewish people. His belief in Zion was of a spiritual and prophetic nature. In 1913 he attacked the Zionist labor movement's racial boycott of Arab labor:

Apart from the political danger, I can't put up with the idea that our brethren are morally capable of behaving in such a way to men of another people; and unwittingly the thought comes to my mind: if it is so now, what will be our relation to the others if in truth we shall achieve "at the end of time" power in Eretz Israel? If this be the "Messiah," I do not wish to see his coming.13

Israel Zangwill, one of Herzl's earliest and strongest supporters, eventually turned against the idea of establishing a Jewish state in Palestine. Ironically it was Zangwill who coined the phrase "a land without a people for a people without a land." It was this phrase that became the potent rallying call for Zionist settlement in Palestine.14

It was not until 1904 that Zangwill realized that there was a fundamental problem with the Zionist program. In a speech given in New York in that year he explained:

There is. . . a difficulty from which the Zionist dares not avert his eyes, though he rarely likes to face it. Palestine proper has already its inhabitants. The pashalik of Jerusalem is already twice as thickly populated as the United States, having 52 souls to every square mile, and not 25 percent of them Jews; so we must be prepared either to drive out by the sword the tribes in possession as our forefathers did, or to grapple with the problem of a large alien population, mostly Mohammedan.. . . This is an infinitely graver difficulty than the stock anti-Zionist taunt that nobody would go to Palestine if we got it. . . .15

Zangwill and many other leading Zionists split from the movement in 1905 when the Zionist Organization turned down the British offer to settle Jews in Uganda. Incidently, this proposal was supported by Herzl. The dissidents set up the Jewish Territorial Organization to pursue alternative settlement proposals. Zangwill was elected leader of the new body. The organization was, however, dissolved in 1925.16

Sir Edwin Montagu, the only Jewish member of Lloyd George's cabinet when Great Britain first threw its weight behind Zionism in 1917, was also adamantly opposed to the creation of a Jewish state. He attacked the Balfour Declaration and Zionism because he believed they were anti-Semitic. Montagu based his argument on the fact that both Zionism and anti-Semitism were based on the premise that Jews and non-Jews could not co-exist. He was also afraid that a Jewish state would undermine the security of Jews in other countries.17 Montagu's opposition to Zionism was supported by the leading representative bodies of Anglo-Jewry, the Board of Deputies and the Anglo-Jewish Association, and in particular, by Claude Montefibre, David Alexander and Lucien Wolf.18

RELIGIOUS OPPOSITION TO ZIONISM
Much of the fiercest opposition to Zionism came from the Jewish religious community which attacked its secular nationalism. Akiva Orr, who characterizes himself as a Jewish refugee from Israel, describes this conflict between religion and secularism as follows:

The State of Israel is a secular state: its law, its legislative assembly (the Knesset), and the majority of its population are non-religious. This is hardly surprising as Israel came into existence due to the efforts of a secular political movement motivated by non-religious nationalism, namely political Zionism. In its early days Zionism came into fierce conflict with religious Jewry. The Zionists rejected religious submissiveness; the religious saw the atheist attempt to create a secular Jewish state as blasphemy.19

A nonreligious Jewish identity is antithetical to a religious definition of Jewishness. This fact presents an irreconcilable contradiction between the religious and secular streams in the Jewish community. Theodore Herzl, David Ben-Gurion, Golda Meir and many other leading Zionists were non-believers who actively sought to reformulate the basis for Jewish existence on race and territorial nationalism.20 This process would thereby "normalize" the existence of the Jewish people.21 The anti-religious component of political Zionism explains the vehement opposition of most devout Jews when the movement first emerged.

For religious Jews the restoration of Zion could only be brought about by divine intervention; human attempts to reestablish Israel were heretical. Rabbi Samson Raphael Hirsch, the religious leader of nineteenth century German Orthodox Jews stated that it was a sin to promote Jewish emigration to Palestine.22 Zionists were called by Rabbi Joseph Hayyim Sonnenfeld of Brisk "ruffians" and "evil men."23 In 1898 Rabbi Sonnenfeld wrote that Zionists have

asserted view that the whole difference and distinction between Israel and The Nations lies in nationalism, blood and race, and that the faith and the religion are superfluous. . . . Dr. Herzl comes not from the Lord, but from the side of pollution.24

Other leading Jewish religious leaders who opposed Zionism included Moritz Gudemann, Chief Rabbi of Vienna,25 Dr. Herman Adler, Chief Rabbi of Great Britain,26 the Lubbavitscher Rebbe, Rabbi Shulem ben Schneersohn,27 the Holy Gerer Rebbe, the Stas Emes,28 and Rabbi Isaac Mayer Wise, the leader of the American Reform Movement.29 Many more Jewish religious leaders were opposed to Zionism.30

Religious Jews in Palestine and the Orthodox Jewish organization, Agudas Yisroel, founded in 1912, also opposed the political Zionist colonization program in Palestine. They protested, to the British Mandatory Administration, against the Zionist claim to represent the entire Jewish community.31 Nathan Birnbaum, an early Zionist, who is credited with coining the term Zionist, later broke with the movement and became a devoutly Orthodox anti-Zionist Jew. For a brief time he served as one of Aguda's spokesmen.32

On June 30, 1924, Jakob Israel De Han, a member of Aguda's executive committee, was assassinated in Palestine by underground soldiers of the Haganah. He had "violently denounced Zionism in cables to British newspapers and attacked the Balfour declaration" and British colonial officials who were "pro-Zionist " De Han became a martyr to Jerusalem's anti-Zionist Orthodox Jews.33

In time, the Zionists managed to win much of the Orthodox Jewish community to their cause. This was done in part by granting the Orthodox political and economic concessions and by implementing a proportional representation system in central Zionist organizations and in the Israeli Knesset. This type of political mechanism gave the Orthodox Jews an important role in determining the course of Jewish affairs in Zionist institutions.

The various religious parties in Israel today represent Orthodox Jewish opinion that has accommodated itself to the Zionist view. However, the religious orientation of these parties is frequently at odds with the majority secular-national interpretation of "Jewishness" in Israel. This contradiction is the source of much political conflict.34

It can even be said that the Israeli ultra-orthodox religious parties which participate in Israeli politics are still anti-Zionist, despite that involvement. The ultra-Orthodox parties are Shas (the Sephardic religious party), Aguda (the Hasidic) and Degel Hatorah (the Flag of the Torah or the "Lithuanian party"). They are supported by between 250,000 and 300,000 Orthodox Israeli Jews and won 13 Knesset seats in the 1988 election.35

These three religious parties are opposed to the Zionist aim of creating a secular Jewish homeland, and as such are considered by some as anti-Zionist. This view is held despite the fact that they support the continued occupation of the West Bank and Gaza and bargain for financial support from the state(the reason why they support it , because the zionist told them a lie by saying , " look , it does not matter if you are a zionist or not , if you give back the land to the arabs , they will kill you), so the orthodox jews thought , well , the zionist have created alot of bloodshed for us and alot of hate. they support the state politically not ideologically. The National Religious party, which won five seats in the 1988 Israeli election, is considered Zionist and over the years has become increasingly nationalistic.36

While much of the Orthodox religious Jewish community was eventually won over to the extent of giving at least nominal support to the state of Israel, significant pockets of resistance remain. The Neturei Karta ("Guardians of the Walls") in their large enclaves in Jerusalem's Mea Sharim Quarter and in Bnai Brak near Tel Aviv, preserve Orthodox Jewry's fierce opposition to Zionism. They refuse to have anything to do with Israeli state authorities.37 The following is an excerpt from a Neturei Karta advertisement that appeared in The New York Times on June 15, 1981:

Besides the millions of Jews who are non-Zionist, there are many hundreds of thousands of Jews who are fervently anti-Zionist. They are opposed to Zionism and the very existence of the Zionist state because Zionism seeks to change the essence of Judaism and substitute chauvinism and militarism and loyalty to the Zionist state for the lofty and unchangeable principles of the Jewish faith. The Jewish nation was not founded by Zionist politicians but the character of Jewish nationhood was determined on Mount Sinai and the Jewish people as well as every individual Jew are bound to fulfill the Mitzvos (commandments) of the oral and written law of the Torah. Jews are certain that the Jewish redemption will come with the coming of the Moshiach. The establishment of the Zionist state before that time is heretic and indeed blasphemous. Our greatest rabbis have taught us that Zionism is one of the worst calamities that has ever befallen the Jewish people.38

The intensity of the ultra-Orthodox's opposition to political Zionism is fierce. Rabbi Moshe Schonfeld, for example, argues that Zionism is causing a genocide of the Jewish people by destroying the religious and spiritual basis for Jewish existence.39 Rabbi Moshe Leib-Hirsch summarized the extent of Neturei Karta's opposition to Zionism by stating, "We will not accept a Zionist State even if the Arabs do."40

Joel Teitelbaum, the Satmar rebbe, until his death in 1979, at the age of 91, was also implacably anti-Zionist and "influenced Orthodox Jewry in the whole of Transylvania." After World War II, and a brief stay in Jerusalem, he emigrated to New York. Many of his followers congregated there and new members joined his flock. Rabbi Teitelbaum opposed Zionism not only on halachic grounds but also because he believed that "Zionism forestalled the Messiah. . . brought the Holocaust and other calamities on the Jewish people." In his view the Jewish state "condemned itself through its own lifestyle and politics." Teitelbaum's 40,000 chassidim are found largely in Williamsburg, New York, and in Jerusalem.41

In January 1986 the non-Zionist Central Rabbinical Congress of the United States and Canada, representing Orthodox and Hasidic Jews, issued a statement attacking Zionism and Israel's policies towards the Palestinians. It included the following:

It is our duty to denounce those who invoke the name of the Almighty in vain. It is our holy obligation and our moral responsibility to call on them: Stop using these falsehoods and heresies to justify yourselves and your misdeeds. The Jewish faith, as transmitted by the Almighty to our forefathers has not and will never countenance the zionist and nationalistic doctrines of the state of Israel. These false doctrines are compounded of atheism and anti-religious zionism, ideologies alien to Judaism. Let them not be misrepresented to the world as Jewish.42

Reform Jews in the United States were also opposed to Zionism. Their Pittsburgh Platform of 1885 stated their opposition to the establishment of a Jewish state very clearly: "We consider ourselves no longer a nation, but a religious community, and therefore expect neither a return to Palestine. . . nor the restoration of the laws concerning the Jewish state."43

With the emergence of the Zionist movement their position even hardened. In 1897, the Central Conference of American Rabbis (CCAR) declared:

. . . we totally disapprove of any attempt for the establishment of a Jewish state. Such attempts show a misunderstanding of Israel's mission, which from the narrow political and national field has been expanded to the promotion among the whole human race of the broad and universalistic religion first proclaimed by the Jewish prophets. . .44

It was not until 1937, and after the rise of Hitler, that the CCAR changed its position on the question of Zionism. This reversal, however, also spawned another anti-Zionist Jewish organization.45

In 1943, a group of 92 Reform rabbis, and many other prominent American Jews, created the American Council for Judaism with the express intent of combatting Zionism. Included in the Council's leadership were Rabbi Morris S. Lazaron of Baltimore; Lessing J. Rosenwald, the former chairman of the Sears, Roebuck & Company, who became president of the Council; Rabbi Elmer Berger who became its executive director; Arthur Hays Sulzberger, publisher of The New York Times; and Sidney Wallach of the American Jewish Committee. Membership in the Council grew to over 15,000. Its members were highly articulate and greatly angered the Zionist leadership, who wanted the American Jewish community to present a united front on the Palestine question.46

Even after the establishment of the state of Israel in 1947 the American Council for Judaism continued to oppose Zionism vocally. The magazine, Issues, was their principal vehicle of communication.47 Issues was joined in its opposition to Zionism by The Menorah Journal edited by Dr. Henry Hurwitz48 and William Zukerman's Jewish Newsletter.49

After Israel's spectacular success in the 1967 Arab-Israeli war, however, a change in the policy towards Zionism occurred in the American Council for Judaism. Alfred Lilienthal suggests that "Zionist infiltration" succeeded in "neutralizing" the Council.50 A separate organization was subsequently established in 1969 called American Jewish Alternatives to Zionism (AJAZ). The new group, which is based in New York, continues the original anti-Zionist tradition of the American Council for Judaism. Rabbi Elmer Berger is currently the president of AJAZ and also editor of its publication the AJAZ Report.51

One of the most articulate and vocal critics in Canada today of Israel's policies towards the Palestinians is Rabbi Reuben Slonim. He is a spiritual Zionist in the tradition of Ahad Ha-am. His criticisms of Israel's policies eventually led to a break with his congregation in Toronto. However, he does have a small, but devoted, following among the Canadian Jewish community.52 In 1983 he wrote:

Today we Jews are losing [the] humanism and universalism of Judaism, all for the sake of Jewish statehood. We love Israel, and so we should, but we are so blinded by that love that we are willing to pay a prohibitive price for it. We condone acts we would declare unconscionable anywhere else in the world: nuclear weapons are wrong but necessary for Israel; apartheid is wrong, but for the sake of Israel's survival we will tolerate it; human rights are critical, but not for the Palestinians; we have a right to a state but Palestinians do not. Our racism towards Arabs would be regarded as anti-Semitism if others spoke of us in the same light. In all things we need to remember that the Jewish people and the Jewish state are but instruments, not ends in themselves; that what is good for the world is good for the Jews, not what is good for the Jews is good for the world; that the ultimate goal of the Jew, if he be truly Jewish, is to serve humanity.53

NON-RELIGIOUS OPPOSITION TO ZIONISM
Not only Orthodox and Reform Jews were opposed to Zionism. In March 1919 United States Congressman Julius Kahn presented an anti-Zionist petition to President Woodrow Wilson as he was leaving for the Paris Peace Conference. The petition was signed by 31 prominent American Jews. These included Henry Morgenthau, Sr., ex-ambassador to Turkey; Simon W. Rosendale, ex-attorney general of New York; Mayor L. H. Kampner of Galveston, Texas; E. M. Baker, from Cleveland and president of the Stock Exchange; R. H. Macy's Jesse I. Straus; New York Times publisher Adolph S. Ochs; and Judge M. C. Sloss of San Francisco.54 The petition read in part:

. . . we protest against the political segregation of the Jews and the re-establishment in Palestine of a distinctively Jewish State as utterly opposed to the principles of democracy which it is the avowed purpose of the World's Peace Conference to establish.
Whether the Jews be regarded as a "race" or as a "religion," it is contrary to the democratic principles for which the world war was waged to found a nation on either or both of these bases.55

Albert Einstein was also anti-Zionist. He made a presentation to the Anglo-American Committee of Inquiry, which was examining the Palestine issue in January 1946 and argued against the creation of a Jewish state. Einstein also later turned down the presidency of the state of Israel.56 In 1950 Einstein published the following statement on the question of Zionism.

I should much rather see reasonable agreement with the Arabs on the basis of living together in peace than the creation of a Jewish state. Apart from the practical considerations, my awareness of the essential nature of Judaism resists the idea of a Jewish state with borders, an army, and a measure of temporal power no matter how modest. I am afraid of the inner damage Judaism will sustain -- especially from the development of a narrow nationalism within our own ranks, against which we have already had to fight without a Jewish state.57

Albert Einstein, Sidney Hook, Hannah Arendt and twenty-five other prominent Jews, in a letter to The New York Times (December 4, 1948), condemned Menachem Begin's and Yitzhak Shamir's Likud party as "fascist" and espousing "an admixture of ultra-nationalism, religious mysticism and racial superiority." The same theme is echoed in William Zukerman's 1934 article in The Nation, "The Menace of Jewish Fascism. "58 This is also the premise of Michael Selzer's book, The Aryanization of the Jewish State.59

For most Western Jews and many other people, the connection of Zionism to fascism and racism is odious and inappropriate. However, this theme is a recurrent motif in the debate on Zionism within the Jewish community. Even David Ben-Gurion, Israel's founding father and first prime minister, wrote an article in 1933 entitled, "Jabotinsky in the Footsteps of Hitler."60 Vladimir Jabotinsky was the founder of Revisionist Zionism and the mentor of Menachem Begin.

Professor Richard Arens, the late brother of Moshe Arens, the Israeli defense minister and leading figure in the Likud party, has also equated Israeli policies towards the Palestinians with the Nazi persecution of the Jews.61 Hannah Arendt, when writing about the trial of Adolph Eichmann, pointed out the irony of attacking the Nazis' Nuremberg Laws of 1935 when certain laws in Israel regarding the personal status of Jews were identical to the infamous Nazi code.62 Morris Raphael Cohen, the distinguished philosopher, went so far as to argue that "Zionists fundamentally accept the racial ideology of anti-Semites, but draw different conclusions. Instead of the Teuton, it is the Jew that is the pure or superior race."63

Other leading Jewish intellectuals who opposed Zionism include Louis D. Brandeis (see Menuhin, Jewish Critics of Zionism), Martin Buber (coauthor, with J.L. Magnes and E. Simon, of Towards Union in Palestine: Essay on Zionism and Jewish-Arab Cooperation, 1947), Isaac Deutscher ("The Non-Jewish Jew," in The Non-Jewish Jew and Other Essays, 1968), Simon Dubnow (Nationalism and History: Essays on Old and New Judaism, edited by Koppel S. Pinson, 1961), Morris Jastrow (Zionism and the Future of Palestine, the Fallacies and Dangers of Political Zionism, 1919), Emile Marmorstein ("A Bout of Agony," The Guardian, April 1974), Moshe Menuhin (father of Sir Yehudi Menuhin and author of The Decadence of Judaism in Our Time), Claude Montefiore ("Nation or Religious Community?" reprinted in Selzer, Zionism Reconsidered), Jakob I. Petuchowski (Zion Reconsidered, 1966), and Franz Rosenzweig.64 Hans Kohn, who was one of the world's leading authorities on nationalism, posed the following questions on

Might not perhaps the "abnormal" existence of the Jews represent a higher form of historical development than territorial nationalism? Has not the diaspora been an essential part of Jewish existence? Did it not secure Jewish survival better than the state could do?65

Erich Fromm, the eminent scholar, also was critical of Zionism. He stated that the Arabs in Israel had a much more legitimate claim to citizenship than the Jews. Fromm also wrote:

The claim of the Jews to the Land of Israel cannot be a realistic political claim. If all nations would suddenly claim territories in which their forefathers lived two thousand years ago, this world would be a madhouse.66

Bruno Kreisky, the former chancellor of Austria, who died in July 1990, was well known for his attempts to bring about reconciliation between Israelis and Palestinians. ln a 1974 interview with an Israeli paper he stated: "There is no Jewish race; there are only Jewish religious groups. Israel was only the ancient, religious fatherland of Jews, but not their true fatherland."67 In another interview, conducted in 1985, Kreisky said, "In the struggle between Israel and the Palestinians I am on the side of the underdog -- the Palestinians."68

Present-day Jewish opponents of Zionism who have published books on the subject include Rabbi Elmer Berger (The Jewish Dilemma, 1945), Noam Chomsky (The Fateful Triangle: The United States, Israel, and the Palestinians, 1983), Marc H. Ellis (Towards a Jewish Theology of Liberation: The Uprising and the Future, 1989), Roberta Strauss Feuerlicht (The Fate of the Jews, 1983), Georges Friedmann (The End of the Jewish People, 1967), Maxim Ghilan (How Israel Lost Its Soul, 1974), Alfred M. Lilienthal (What Price Israel? 1953), Norton Mezvinsky (The Character of the State of Israel, 1972), Cheryl Rubenberg (Israel and the American National Interest, 1986), and Michael Selzer (The Wineskin and the Wizard, 1970). Several collections of articles are also useful in understanding the scope of debate within the Jewish community and especially the strength of opposition in Jewish intellectual circles. These collections are Jewish Critics of Zionism by Moshe Menuhin; Zionism Reconsidered, edited by

Lilienthal's The Zionist Connection II: What Price Peace? is one of the classic expositions of the Jewish anti-Zionist position, and as a historical work it is virtually encyclopedic. Lilienthal, who also edited the newsletter Middle East Perspective (1968-1985), Rabbi Elmer Berger and Noam Chomsky have to be considered the three preeminent American Jewish critics of Zionism.69

Many Jews have opposed Zionism because they believe that there is a moral contradiction in trying to create an exclusionist Jewish nation-state out of a universal religious ethic. They have also opposed Zionism because of what it has done to the Palestinians and how they believed this violence would transform Judaism.

A large number of Socialist and Marxist Jewish scholars are also opposed to Zionism. These include Peter Buch, (Zionism and the Arab Revolution, 1967), Steven Goldfield (Garrison State: Israel's Role in U.S. Global Strategy, 1985), Abraham Leon (The Jewish Question, 1973), the famed Orientalist Maxime Rodinson (Israel: A Colonial-Settler State? 1973), Jon Rothschild (editor of Forbidden Agendas: Intolerance and Defiance in the Middle East, 1984; coauthor, with Nathan Weinstock, of The Truth about Israel and Zionism, 1970), and Nathan Weinstock (Zionism: False Messiah, 1979). A rising generation of American leftist Jewish thinkers, including Joel Beinin ("From Land Day to Peace Day.. . and Beyond," in Intifada: The Palestinian Uprising against Israeli Occupation, edited by Zachary Lockman and Joel Beinin, 1989), Lenni Brenner (Zionism in the Age of the Dictators, 1983), David Finkel (editor of the Detroit-based magazine Against the Current, whose "Occupation and Resistance: A Look Ins

There also exists in the Soviet Union an active Jewish anti-Zionist organization. It is headed by General David Dragunski.73 Despite reports to the contrary, this organization is still in existence.74 The West tends to dismiss such bodies, but one should remember that historically there has always been a powerful anti-Zionist Socialist and Communist tradition within the Jewish community.

Many Jewish intellectuals were prominent leaders in the Socialist movement, and in many respects they represent a competing stream of thought in the world Jewish community. Leon Trotsky, for example, attacked Zionism as "reactionary," a "blind alley" and "a bloody trap."75 Rosa Luxemberg also was anti-Zionist and as a result was attacked with the accusation of "self-hatred."76 Ephraim Sevela, a Soviet Jewish emigrant to Israel, has written a book about his disillusionment with Zionism in which he concludes that Israel is not a Jewish homeland.77

The Jewish workers' Bund movement was also anti-Zionist. The Bund was a large and well-organized Jewish socialist, autonomist party that existed in Lithuania, Poland and Russia between 1907-1948. It favored a secular East European Jewish nationalism and rejected a world Jewish national identity.78

Over time Socialist Zionists managed to reduce leftist Jewish opposition to the Zionist program by emphasizing the utopian and socialist aspects of political Zionism. The kibbutz experiment of collective farming and the large role labor played in the early years of the state figured prominently in the campaign to win support from the left for the Jewish state. But with the shift of the political character of Zionism to the right and with Begin's and Shamir's rise to power in Israel, and with the increased repression of the Palestinians, the left has lost much of its enthusiasm for the Zionist experiment.

For many critics of Zionism the parallels between Israel's treatment of the Palestinians and South Africa's handling of its black population are striking. Dennis Goldberg, a white South African and member of the African National Congress, was released from Pretoria prison in 1985 to immigrate to Israel when he agreed to fore-swear violent opposition to apartheid.79 He was also highly critical of Israel's close military and economic ties with the white-supremacist state. Goldberg later emigrated from Israel to Great Britain. Mark A. Bruzonsky80 and Micah L. Sifry81 have made similar comparisons. Israel: An Apartheid State, by expatriate Israeli Uri Davis, also equates Israel with South Africa.82

OPPOSITION IN ISRAEL
It may surprise some, but much of the opposition to Zionism today is centered in Israel. It is there that the realities of Zionism's confrontation with the Palestinians are most painfully apparent. Local Jewish opposition to Zionism also has a long history.

Several important Jewish religious leaders in Palestine were opposed to Zionism and the creation of Israel. Rabbi YosefTzvi Dushinsky, the Chief Rabbi of the Holy Land, and Rabbi Zelig Reuven Bengis were opposed to the creation of a Jewish state. These two rabbis stated their opposition in a presentation on June 16, 1947, before the U.N. Commission on Palestine when it convened hearings in Jerusalem. They feared that "a Jewish state would be a rallying point for anti-Semitism and thus an actual danger to the Jewish people."83

In July 1949 Rabbi Amram Blau and Rabbi Aaron Katzenellenbogen sent a memorandum to the Secretary General of the United Nations on behalf of the Neturei Karta in Jerusalem. They called for the internationalization of Jerusalem and asked for U.N. passports and protection for their community.84

Judah L. Magnes, who was president of Hebrew University in Jerusalem during the Palestine Mandate, was also opposed to the creation of a Jewish state.85 In 1936, Magnes, together with other leading Jewish Palestinian humanists, including Pinhas Rutenberg and Moshe Smilanski, advocated the creation of a bi-national state. The Zionist establishment rejected this proposal. These prominent Jewish intellectuals then founded the Ihud (Union) group to oppose the partition of Palestine.86

Shortly before the creation of Israel, Judah Magnes and Martin Buber, on the behalf of the Ihud Association, made the following statement before the Anglo-American Palestine Commission Inquiry: "We do not favor Palestine as a Jewish country or Palestine as an Arab country, but a bi-national Palestine as the common country of two peoples."87 The Ihud, however, abandoned the idea in 1948 after Magnes' death, and after war had broken out in Palestine.88

Mordechai Avi Shaul was one of these early Jewish humanists who continued to oppose the Jewish state after its creation. In 1935 he helped to establish the League of Civil and Human Rights in Palestine, "whose original purpose was to oppose British oppression of Jews and Arabs under the Mandate." He continued to work for equal rights for Arabs in the Jewish state.89

Reb Binyomin, a prominent writer, strongly criticized actions that occurred during the creation of the Jewish state. In 1953 he wrote:

After the State of Israel was established, I began receiving news about the terrible things perpetrated both during and after the Israeli-Arab war. I did not recognize my own people for the changes which had occurred in their spirit. The acts of brutality were not the worst because those might have been explained somehow. . . Far more terrible was the benevolent attitude towards these acts on the part of public opinion. I had never imagined that such could be the spiritual and moral countenance of Israel. . .90

Another old Jewish settler, Nathan Chofshi, who also witnessed the birth of the Jewish state, did not like what he saw. In 1959, in a reply to a rabbi who "parroted" the official version of the Palestinian exodus from Israel, he bore witness to the campaign to expel the Palestinian population. Chofshi also stated the following:

We came and turned the Arabs into tragic refugees. And still we dare slander and malign them, to besmirch their name; instead of being deeply ashamed of what we did, and trying to undo some of the evil we committed, we justify our terrible acts and even attempt to glorify them.91

In 1962 Moshe Machover founded the Israeli Socialist Organization (known as Matzpen after its publication) with other Israeli leftists. He described Zionism as "the equivalent of what in other places is known as white supremacy. Here [in Israel] there are exact parallels in terms of Jewish supremacy."92 Matzpen, however, splintered into several political factions and together with other small left-wing anti-Zionist Israeli groups the divisions greatly diminished the strength of non-Zionist Jewish forces within Israel. All of these "radical" groups came under political attack from state authorities.93

In 1975 Charles Glass estimated that 5-8 percent of Israel's Jewish population fell into the anti-Zionist category. Most of this opposition was of a "leftist" variety. However, Glass also stated that "they represent 50 percent of the only significant debate in the country."94

Ehud Adiv, Dan Vered, Yehezkel Cohen, David Cooper and Rami Livneh are five Jewish Israelis who have been sent to prison for working against the Jewish state. Livneh was sentenced to ten years in prison for meeting with a Fatah member near Nazareth to discuss political issues. His case was adopted by Amnesty International.95

Adiv, Vered, Cohen and Cooper were members of the Revolutionary Communist Alliance-Red Front. They were critical of Matzpen and some of the other leftist anti-Zionist organizations for their lack of a political program. Their belief in activism led them to participate in an underground Palestinian-Israeli organization. This resulted in their being convicted of helping to form an "espionage and sabotage network." The "Red Front Trial" was a shock to Israeli society which was used to the image of its Jewish youth ready to defend The Nation under all circumstances.96 As Charles Glass commented:

While the Red Front probably never presented a security danger to the State of Israel, its psychological threat was enormous. Here were Jews born and raised in Israel, Adiv himself from a kibbutz, working with Arabs for the overthrow of the state! Young Israelis could not help but ask why.97

The 1986 disclosure by the former Israeli nuclear technician, Mordechai Vanunu, of Israeli's nuclear arsenal can be seen in a similar light. Israeli authorities launched a massive campaign to discredit Vanunu in the eyes of Israel's Jewish population while his trial was conducted in total secrecy. He was convicted of treason and sentenced to 18 years imprisonment.98 The stiff penalty given Vanunu for revealing what has been an open secret for years is a harsh reminder that the Jewish state is tightening the noose around internal dissent.99

One of the leading Israeli anti-Zionists today is concentration-camp survivor Israel Shahak, who currently heads the Israeli League for Civil and Human Rights. Shahak takes the view that "the State of Israel is a racist state in the full meaning of the term: In this state people are discriminated against, in the most permanent and legal way and in the most important areas of life, only because of their origin."100 He also indicates:

I would say the only human response to Holocaust is to try not to be like Nazis, in word or in deed. What brought the Holocaust was the racist attitude towards Jews, the division of German society into Jews and non-Jews on grounds of race. This is exactly the same thing that is happening in Israel.101

Many view this type of comparison as inappropriate, but other Israeli Jews have drawn the same parallel. Professor Yeshayahu Leibowitz, the renowned scholar of Judaism and philosophy and the editor of several volumes of the Encyclopedia Hebraica, has expressed similar concerns:

The big crisis of the Jewish people is that the overwhelming majority of the Jews genuinely desire to be Jewish -- but they have no content for their Judaism other than a piece of colored rag attached to the end of a pole and a military uniform. The consciousness and the desire to be Jewish did not vanish, rather they are transformed today into a Judeo-Nazi mentality.102

Other leading Israeli critics of Zionism and of Israel's policies towards the Palestinians include Professor Danny Amit ("There is a basis for an Israeli-Palestinian strategy of joint struggle," MERIP Reports, May 1983), Uri Avnery (Israel without Zionists, 1968), Yoram Binur (My Enemy, My Self, 1989), Uri Davis ("Journey Out of Zionism," in Journal of Palestine Studies, summer 1970), Boaz Evron ("Holocaust: The Uses of Disaster," in Radical America, fall 1983), the late Simha Flapan (The Birth of Israel, 1987), Isaac Hasson ("Can Israel Be a Democratic State?" in The International Humanist, December 1987), Amnon Kapeliouk (Sabra and Shatilla, 1984), Peretz Kidron ("Truth Whereby Nations Live," in Blaming the Victims, edited by Hitchens and Said), Felicia Langer (With My Own Eyes, 1975), the late Livia Rokach (editor of Israel's Sacred Terrorism, 1980), Ur Shlansky ("Eyewitness in Gaza," in Radical America, fall, 1983), Professor Jacob Talmon ("Self-Determination for Palestinian Arab

Many Israelis have also refused to serve in the army on political grounds. These include Marius Shattner, Irith Yacobi and Reuben Lassman.103 In 1973 Giora Neumann was sentenced to eight months imprisonment for refusing military duty. At his trial Neumann said that he had to be loyal to his values, and that the Israeli military had become a "persecuting army" of occupation which "uproots and exiles people."104

Over 2,000 Israeli reserve soldiers signed a petition requesting not to serve in the 1982 invasion of Lebanon. The opposition to war among Israeli reserve soldiers formalized itself into an organization called Yesh Gvul ("There is a limit").105 Gideon Spiro, one of its founders, wrote:

It was the first time in Israel's history that Israeli reserve soldiers said to the government: We are not going to a war which violates all democratic and humanistic norms; which violates all international charters to which Israel is a signatory, especially the Universal Declaration of Human Rights; which contradicts the essence and spirit of the Israeli Declaration of Independence; and which involves the criminal bombing of civilian populations.106

Yesh Gvul is not a pacifist organization and does not question the need for an army for Israel's defense. However, its members argued that they were not prepared to support a war they viewed as illegal, and they were not prepared to hide behind the defense of "we acted under orders" in an attempt to justify that illegality. One hundred and fifty Israelis were court martialed for refusing to serve in Lebanon.107

Yesh Gvul has also been active in opposing Israeli policies towards the Palestinians. Over 600 Israeli reserve soldiers have signed a petition indicating their refusal to serve in the Occupied Territories. At least 37 "refuseniks" have been sent to prison and approximately 100 reservists have been released from service after refusing to help crush Palestinian resistance to the occupation of the territories.108

The board of directors of the state-operated Israeli television network has decided to prohibit reports of Yesh Gvul demonstrations. Israel has only one television network. This decision was seen by many Israelis, including those who were opposed to Yesh Gvul, as an ominous attack on freedom of expression.109

Israel's invasion of Lebanon also prompted Jacobo Timerman, the world-renowned author and human-rights activist, to sharply criticize the actions of Israel. He asked, "Why are the Israelis incapable of recognizing the high degree of criminality in their army's campaign against the Palestinian people?"110 In 1988 Timerman attacked "hypocrisy" in Israel:

Israel's great hypocrisy consists in disguising her policy of occupation with security arguments similar to those utilized by the Argentine generals to justify their bloody dictatorship. The real objective of Israel's policy is to expel all Palestinians and seize their lands. . . . There is a second hypocrisy shocking in its obscenity: the utilization of the Holocaust to justify alleged Israeli fears of a new extermination. It is used as an excuse for the policy of wiping out the Palestinian identity which has been implemented in Israel for the past 20 years, as if an unproven future danger were sufficient reason to commit crimes against a defenseless nation today.111

The 23 years of occupation that has been imposed on the Palestinians in the West Bank and Gaza has also left its mark on Israeli society. The occupation has been opposed by many Jews.112 Professor Leibowitz, for example, made the following comment:

It is both understandable and natural that an enslaved people will fight for its freedom against an occupying power with all the means at its disposal, and without regard for their propriety; this phenomenon is recognized to be part and parcel of the wars of liberation of all peoples. We use the term "terrorism" to describe the acts of the Palestinian people, and call their fighters "terrorists." But our rule over a resistant people could not persist were it not for the use of means which are considered to constitute war crimes throughout the world -- and even plain criminal acts. We do not view these acts as terrorism; they are considered to be policy because they are being implemented by a legal government and a state arm. "Aberrant acts" by necessity become the norm because, far from being a side effect of an occupation regime, they are its essence.113

While Palestinians have been long subjected to restrictions, Jews have largely been free from overt state interference, although the Jewish press is censored. However, there are signs that the tactics which are used to control Palestinian opposition are being extended to Jewish dissent.

In February 1987 Michael Warschawsky, an anti-Zionist Israeli and director of the Alternative Information Center was arrested. The Center was closed down and its files seized. The organization provided information on human-rights violations in the Occupied Territories to the media. The Center was a constant irritant to Israeli authorities, who wanted to present a benevolent image of the occupation to the world and "manage" coverage of the suppression of the Palestinian uprising. Several foreign journalists who witnessed the raid claimed that "what's happening here is similar to the police treatment of foreign correspondents in South Africa."114

Warschawsky was charged with security offenses for assisting proscribed "terrorist" organizations. The charges included "rendering typing services to students and women's organizations" which were claimed to be "front organizations for the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine." Other offenses included rendering typing facilities for several Palestinian newspapers that are not even banned by the authorities. The Israeli newspaper Hadshot reported that one of the charges leveled against Warschawsky was that he had helped in "preparing and distributing instructional material related to the interrogation method of Shin Bet [Israeli General Security Services], which teaches potential detainees how to behave when they are arrested and thereby harms the activities of the security services. . . ."115

The information was to help Palestinian detainees resist torture techniques practiced by Israeli security services. In the words of one Israeli: "It is clear why Mikado [Warschawsky] was arrested. . . so that the Jews can say: With our hands on our hearts, we didn't know."116

Warschawsky was sentenced to 20 months imprisonment. However, widespread outrage at the harshness of the sentence caused the authorities to reduce it to eight months after an appeal was heard.117

On February 18, 1988, Derech Hanitzotz/Tariq A-Sharara, a joint Hebrew/Arabic newspaper operation, was shut down by Israeli authorities. The paper was left-wing and extremely critical of Israeli policies towards the Palestinians. Four editors and the publisher, all Jews and three of them women, were arrested: Yakov Ben Efrat, Roni Ben Efrat, Michal Schwartz, Hadas Lahav and Asaf Adiv. It was the first Hebrew-language newspaper to be closed under the security laws.118

Hadas Ladav was released after 12 days of solitary confinement without charges being brought. She reported that the detainees were subjected to "emotional torture,. . . humiliation and.., sexual harassment" from the investigators. Ladav stated after such an ordeal, "one does not leave the same person as one went in."119 There were also reports of more severe types of punishment being inflicted on the remaining prisoners. The dissidents were held without bail and charged with security offenses similar to those leveled at Warschawsky.

The term Palestinian is simply that of a national designation which includes not only Christians and Muslims but also Jews, and other religious and even non-religious groups. The first British governor of Jerusalem, Sir Ronald Storrs, reported that virtually all indigenous Palestinian Jews were adamantly opposed to European political Zionism.120 Ilan Halevi, a Jewish Palestinian, is a top-ranking member of the PLO. He is the PLO ambassador to Europe and its representative to the Socialist International.121

It is also interesting to note that the anti-Zionist Neturei Karta religious sect has asked for affiliation with the Palestine National Council. Rabbi Moshe Hirsch has even offered to serve as minister for Jewish Affairs in a Palestinian government-in-exile.122 Rabbi Hirsch argues:

We are as Palestinian as Yasser Arafat. There are Jewish Palestinians, and there are Muslim Palestinians and Christian Palestinians. In regard to issues relating to the Palestinian people, we also have our interests. If a state is established we would like to have our representation in the government.123

Two little-known facts are that the PLO helped protect the Beirut Jewish community (and also the American embassy) during the Lebanese Civil War,124 and it was the Israelis who destroyed their synagogue during the siege of Beirtut.125 Nor has it been widely publicized that nine Palestinian Jews were among the victims of the Sabra and Shatila massacre.126

There are also a small number of Palestinian Jews still living within Palestinian society. Esther Ramahi is one such individual. She prefers to live in the squalor of the Jelazoun refugee camp, a few kilometers from Ramallah, with her Moslem Palestinian family rather than with her Jewish daughter and all the comforts of modern Israel.127

Like the Palestinian Jews, many Arab Jews (also called Oriental and Sephardic) were initially opposed to political Zionism. European secular Zionism was a totally alien ideological concept that was in direct conflict with their Jewish religious and their Arab cultural background. Kohavi Shemesh, a former leader of the Black Panthers, an Israeli anti-Zionist Oriental Jewish organization, has stated that, contrary to popular belief, "There wasn't any large-scale anti-Semitism in the Arab countries."128

The long-simmering Arab-Israeli dispute and Israel's military actions in the name of the "Jewish people" have all but virtually destroyed what was once a thriving Jewish-Arab community. Today, only remnants remain. It was, of course, in Israel's interest to strengthen the Jewish foothold in Palestine by ingathering Jews from the Arab world.

Naim Giladi, an Oriental Jew and one of the founders of the Black Panthers, has been working on the subject of Mossad operations in the Jewish-Arab community to "facilitate" Jewish-Arab immigration to Israel.129 One example of this campaign to "encourage" Zionist immigration were the bombs set off in Baghdad in 1950 to terrorize the Iraqi-Jewish community into fleeing their home of 2,500 years.130 This question is also the subject of Marion Woolfson's Prophets in Babylon where she argues, from an anti-Zionist Jewish perspective, that the Jewish Arabs were victims of Zionism.131

RECENT OPPOSITION
One of the more recent manifestations of Jewish anti-Zionism is a public advertisement that contained over 200 names, including that of Harry Cohen, a British member of Parliament. The original ad was published in The Manchester Guardian (October 31, 1987) on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the Balfour Declaration. More names were added to a subsequent version published in the magazine, Jerusalem. The ad stated that "the state of Israel does not represent all Jewish people, neither legally, morally nor in any other way." The statement also charged that "the Zionist structure of the state of Israel is at the heart of the racism and oppression against the Palestinian people, and should be dismantled."132

In other countries Jews are also expressing concern about Israel's policies towards the Palestinians and about the direction that Zionism is heading. In Canada there are several Jewish organizations that are sharply critical of Israel's policies. One of the most active is Jews for a Just Peace. Yossi Schwartz, an Israeli, has served as spokesman for the organization. The group is part of a small but growing number of Canadian Jews who are voicing their opposition to Israel's treatment of the Palestintans.

At a rally organized by Jews for a Just Peace, held in April 1988 in front of the Israeli Consulate in Toronto, Schwartz denounced Israeli Prime Minister Yitzhak Shamir as a "terrorist," a "fascist" and an enemy not only to the Palestinians, but to the Jewish people too." He said "the real heroes are Jews who refuse to serve in the Occupied Territories and Lebanon." "Petition for Palestinian Rights -- Against the Israeli Law of Return -- for the Palestinian Right to Return," Jerusalem, May 1988, pp. 3 1 -- 33. Their address do Bradford Resource Centre, 31 Manor Row, Bradford, UK BDI 4PS. The demonstration drew a crowd of "about 300 people, including Arabs... as well as members of the New Jewish Agenda." The demonstration was reported to have been "orderly."133

In France, 155 Jews have endorsed an advertisement calling for the French government to recognize the new Palestinian state declared at the Palestine National Council meeting in Algiers on November 15, 1988. The ad stated: "Now that the right of Israel to exist has been recognized by the Palestine National Council, nothing is against negotiations starting between the representatives of the Israeli and Palestinian peoples." They also declared their support for the "peace forces which are fighting bravely in Israel against those who wish, among other things, to expel the entire Arab population."134

The "father" of the proposal to issue a declaration establishing a Palestinian state is Jerome Segal, an American Jewish peace activist who has long been active in promoting Israeli-Palestinian peace.135 At the present time there are also a number of prominent Jewish journalists who are extremely critical of Israel's policies towards the Palestinians. These include Gerald Ca-plan of the Toronto Star ("Mindless cheerleaders for Israel?" May 13, 1990), Anthony Lewis of The New York Times ("Israel: It's Time to Speak Out about Injustice," October 22, 1989, one of many examples), Nat Hentoff of The Village Voice ("The Silence of American Jews," June 29, 1982; reprinted in Journal of Palestine Studies, summer/fall 1982), and Eric Rouleau of Le Monde.136 However, the diverse nature of Jewish opposition to Zionism, in the West at least, and conflicting approaches to politics makes this opposition relatively incoherent and very difficult to weld into a viable alternative Jewish political for

Support for Israel has virtually become a litmus test for loyalty to the Jewish community, and the role of religion has clearly diminished. Anti-Zionist Jews are simply defined outside of the community, and if they become vocal they are attacked as self-hating Jews, and sometimes even as "Kapos" (Jews who collaborated with the Nazis in the concentration camps), for betraying the new belief system.

I. F. Stone, the award-winning American Jewish journalist, who died on June 18, 1989, wrote:

. . . Israel is creating a kind of moral schizophrenia in world Jewry. In the outside world the welfare of Jewry depends on the maintenance of secular, non-racial, pluralistic societies. In Israel, Jewry finds itself defending a society in which mixed marriages cannot be legalized, in which the ideal is racial and exclusionist. Jews might fight elsewhere for their very security and existence -- against principles and practices they find themselves defending in Israel.137

At the very least, some of the criticisms that I. F. Stone, Albert Einstein and other Jewish intellectuals and religious leaders have leveled at Zionism and at the creation of a "Jewish state" seem to have been borne out.

There is no monolithic Jewish position on Zionism. Many Jews have opposed Zionism in the past, and many still do today, whether it is from a religious, leftist, liberal or humanist perspective. It would not be inappropriate to say that Jewish critics of Zionism and of Israel's policies towards the Palestinians are the ones who are upholding the great Jewish tradition of ethical dissent and moral leadership. It also can be argued that Zionist Jews who place power above morality are, in fact, the historical aberration.

    Comments:

Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord

When you read, let the Spirit of Truth be with you.

Written in Luke 4: 5-7, The devil showed Jesus all the kingdoms of the world in a moment of time. The devil said to Jesus, "All this authority I will give to You, and their glory; for this has been delivered to me, and I give it to whomever I wish. Therefore, if You worship me, all will be yours."

Before Jesus left this world He warned, "for the ruler of this world (satan/devil) is coming, and he has nothing in Me" > John 14:30" ---> "satan, who deceives the whole world" < Rev.12:9 + Rev.18:23 > "--- all the nations were deceived." --- If it were possible even the elect would be deceived > Matt. 24:24 + Mark 13:22. "unless those days were shortened, no flesh (human) would be saved; but for the elect's sake those days will be shortened." > Matt. 24:22 + Mark 13:20. What it says here is that all of humanity will be annihated, but for the elect's sake those days will not come. All the kingdoms of the world are under the rule/authorityof satan/devil until the time comes when you say, "Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord" and then you will see the Son of Man coming on the cloud of heaven with power and great glory. When the Son of Man and His Christ comes, "The kingdoms of this world have become the kingdoms of our Lord and of His Christ," --- "and th

ALL AUTHORITY has been given into Me in heaven and on earth " >Matt. 28:18, --- Heaven and earth will pass away, but My Words will by no means pass away. " > Matt. 24:35 --- "I am The Way, The Truth, and The Life, no one comes to the Father except through Me." > John 14:6. Jesus said this for all mankind. Him who sits on the throne has been given ALL AUTHORITY.
"If you keep My commandments, you will abide in My love, just as I have kept My Father's commdments and abide in His love." > John 15:10. "You are My friends if you do whatever I command you." > John 15:14. > Matt.:22:37-40, Matt.5:43-48, Luke 6:27-38

How will Jesus our Lord return?

"While they (Men of Galilee) watched, He was taken up, and a cloud received Him out of sight. While they looked steadfastly toward heaven as He went up, behold, two men stood by them in white apparel and said, --- This same Jesus, who was taken up from you into heaven will come so in like manner as you saw Him go into heaven. > Acts 1:9-11 No one shall see this same Jesus until He returns in like manner.

"They will see the Son of Man coming on the cloud of heaven with power and great glory" > Matt. 24:30

"--- they will see the Son of Man in a cloud with power and great glory. > Luke 21:27

"--- they shall see the Son of Man coming in the clouds with great power and glory. > Mark 13:26

Jesus will be seen again when the Son of Man comes in His glory, and all the holy angels with Him, then He will sit on the throne of His glory which cloud of heaven with power and great glory, and all the nations will be gathered before Him and He will separate them one from another, as a shepherd divides His sheep from the goats. And He will set sheep on His right hand, but the goats on the left, Matt. 25:31- 46, which will be The Day of the Lord.

When will Jesus our Lord be seen again?

Before Jesus was taken up into heaven; He said, "I say to you, you shall see Me no more till you say, "Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord" > Matt 23:39. "I say to you, you shall not see Me until the time comes when you say, Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord." > Luke 13:35. "as the days of Noah were, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be" > Matt. 24:37.

Before Jesus left this world He said, "for the ruler of this world is coming, and he has nothing in Me" > John 14:30 Jesus warned, "For many will come in My name saying, 'I am the christ', and will deceive many > Matt. 24:5 --- "If any one says to you, 'Look, here is the Christ!' or 'There!' Do not believe it. For false christ, and false prophets will rise and show great signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, even the elect." > Matt. 24:23-24 The false christ that appeared as angel of light on the road to Damascus is exactly what Jesus warned His disciples and us about. The reason that the one that said, "I am Jesus" was and is not Jesus is because on how and when Jesus will be seen again. Jesus said, "I say to you, you shall not see Me until the time comes when you say, Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord." > Luke 13:35

    >From what is written we know that Jesus will sit on the throne and He will not seen again until you say, "Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord." When this happens The Day of the Lord is here. When John was in the Spirit on The Lord's Day, he was instructed to write of thing that he was told and seen conerning Him who sits on the throne, and He (the Lamb of Lord God Almighty) who comes in the name of Jesus who sits on the throne.

Who is Him/He who sits on the throne?

Rev. 4:2 --- "and the One sat on the throne."
Rev. 5:7 --- "Him who sat on the throne".
Rev. 5:1 --- "Him who sat on the throne"
Rev. 5:13 --- "Blessing and glory and power be to Him who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb forever and ever!"
Rev. 6:16 --- "hide us from the face of Him who sits on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb!"-
Rev. 7:10 --- "Salvation belong to our God who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb!"
Rev. 21:5-7 --- "Then He who sat on the throne said," --->

Jesus will sit on the throne on The Lord's Day > Matt. 25:31-33. He who sat on the throne said to John, "I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End. > Rev. 21:5-7. "I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End," says the Lord, "who is and who was and who is to come, The Almighty." Rev. 1:8. "I am He who lives, and was dead, and behold, I am alive forevermore, Amen " > Rev. 1:18

The 'I am' in Rev. 1:8, 1:11, 1:17-18, 21: 5-7, and 22:13 is Jesus glorified together with His Father/God, who is The Lord God Almighty, who is Him who sits on the throne in Revelation 4:2, 4:9, 5:1, 5:7, 5:13, 6:16, and 7:10. "He who seen Me has see the Father. --- Believe Me that I am in the Father, and the Father in Me > John 14:8-11. When you shall see Jesus on the throne you shall also see the Father on the throne. "I am The Way, The Truth, and The Life, no one comes to the Father except through Me." > John 14:6. Him who sits on the throne has been given ALL AUTHORITY.

Who is the One that said to John, "I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End."?
When the Alpha and the Omega spoke to John about He/Him who overcomes, He spoke of His Father

"I will give power over the nations. He shall rule them with a rod of iron; they shall be dashed to pieces like the potter's vessels - as I also have received from My Father; and I will give him the morning star. > Rev. 2:26-28
"I will not blot out his name from the Book of Life; but I will confess his name before My Father and before His angels. > Rev. 3:5
"I will make him a pillar in the temple of My God, and He shall go out no more.
I will write on him the name of My God and the name of the city of My God, the New Jerusalem, which comes down out of heaven from My God.
I will write on him My new name. Rev. 3:12
"I will grant to seat with Me on My throne, as I also overcame and sat down with My Father on His throne. Rev. 3:21
"I am He who lives, and was dead, and behold, I am alive forevermore, Amen " > Rev. 1:18

"He who sat on the throne said," ---> "I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End". Rev. 21:5-7.

He who comes in the name of the Lord will rule them with a rod of iron

Before Jesus was taken up into heaven, He said, "I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper/Comforter with the Holy Spirit whom the Father will send in My name, that He may abide with you forever ---" >John 14:16

When the Helper/Comforter comes --- He will testify of Me, --- He will convict/reprove the world of Sin, of righteousness, and of judgment. --- He will not speak on His own AUTHORITY, but whatever He hears, He will speak, and He will glorify Me. > John 15-16.
Jesus said to John, "He who overcomes" --- "to Him I will give powers over the nations, He shall rule them with a rod of iron" --- "as I also have received from My Father" > Rev. 2:26-28. He is also the man child who was to rule all nations with a rod of iron.> Rev. 12:5. "He Himself will rule them with a rod of iron" > Rev. 19:15. He Himself in Rev. 19:15 is the man child who is He that Jesus gives power to rule over all nations > Rev. 2:26-28. Jesus said, ALL THINGS that the Father has are Mine. Therefore I said that He will take of Mine and declare it to you" > John 16:15 He who overcomes shall inherit ALL THINGS and I will be his God and He shall be My son > Rev. 21:5-7.
    The One who Jesus gives power to rule over the nation, > Rev. 2:26-28;

    >>>>>> is the man child born to rule all nations with a rod of iron.> Rev. 12:5
    >>>>>> is He who will rule them with a rod of iron > Rev. 19:15
    >>>>>> is He who will take of Jesus and declare it to you" > John 16:15
    >>>>>> is He who has prevailed and came and took the scroll/book out of the right hand of Him who sat on the throne
    >>>>>> is He who shall inherit all things and Jesus will be his God and He shall be His Son > 21:5-7
    >>>>>> is He who overcomes/prevailes > Rev 2-3
    >>>>>> is He who has Jesus' new name and etc. written on him > Rev. 3:12
    >>>>>> is He who had an open door set in front of him > Rev 3:8
    >>>>>> is the Lamb, for He is Lord of Lords and King of Kings > Rev. 17:14

The first three chapters of Revelation was about the churches, He who overcomes/prevails, and the 'I am' revealing Himself to John. Jesus received His new name when He became glorified together with His Father with the glory which Jesus had with His Father before the world was. This is why Jesus said, "I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End," --- "I am He who lives, and was dead, and behold, I am alive forevermore, Amen " > Rev. 1:18 Jesus is Him who sits on the throne, the Lord God Almighty.

Rev. 4 > When John was in the Spirit, he saw a throne set in heaven, and One sat on The Throne. The living creatures give glory and honor and thanks to Him who sits on the throne, who lives forever and ever. The twenty-four elders fall down before Him who sits on the throne --- saying, "You are worthy, O Lord, To receive glory and honor and power;" Here, Jesus who sits on the throne is worthy to receive glory and honor and power.

Rev. 5 > John wrote, "I saw in the right hand of Him who sat on the throne a scroll\book" --- "then I saw a strong angel proclaiming with a loud voice, "Who is worthy to open the scroll/book". John wept so much "because no one in heaven or on the earth or under the earth was found worthy to open and read the scroll, or to look at it." But one of the elders said to John, "Do not weep" the Root of David has prevailed to open the scroll ---". John looked, and behold, --- stood a Lamb as though it had been slain. Then this Lamb came and took the scroll out of the right hand of Jesus who sat on the throne.

He who is holy, He who is true says to He who has the key of David, He who opens and no one shuts, and He who shuts and no one opens. "I know your works. See, I have set before you 'an open door', and no one can shut it; for you have a little strength, have kept My word, and have not denied My name. --- I will make them come and worship before your feet, and to know that I have loved you." > Rev.3:8.

Why did the elders only find One that is worthy to take the scroll out of the right hand of Him who sat on the throne? Jesus did say, "If it were possible even the Elect would be deceived" > Matt. 24:24 + Mark 13:22. The Elect was not deceived because He has kept Jesus' word, and He has not denied Jesus' name. He who is holy and true has set 'an open door' in front of He who has the key of David who is the Root of David, and He has prevailed to open the scroll.

In March of 1984, a great sound, like that of trumpets came to me and then a cloud with an open door was set in front of me, and from in that open door, A Voice spoke to me saying, "You are My Son, as I was the Son of My Father, and I will be with you and I come quickly" Then this cloud with the open door went away.

He who comes in the name of Him who sits on the throne will come in Jesus' new name which is Lord God Almighty, and He had a name written that no one knew except Himself, and His name is called The Word of God. > Rev. 19:12-13.

The Alpha and the Omega said, "Behold, I come quickly, and My reward is with Me, to give to every one according to his works" > Rev. 22:12 and Matt. 25:31-33. "Blessed are those who do His commandments"

    Yours truly with love, Paul
