This is my first visit to your web site after a search of 'Preterist'   This viewpoint is somewhat (some weeks) new to me and I am still in the 'research and consider further' mode.  Please add my e-mail address to your list (if you have one) of updates and info.

Thanks,

Greetings in the name of our Lord Jesus!

I have recently accepted the Preterist view as a scriptural eschatology.  I have much to unpack, could you please suggest a Preterist commentary on the book of Daniel?   Many thanks.

I accidentally hit this home page. While I was in the States as a student, I came to know Preterism and even attended a conference for it in 1992. I was curious how the movement was going on.

I am new to Preterism. I am someone that reads 2 hours a day of Bible or something related. I am very impressed with Philip Mauro's writings which I have seen in this archive. I am interested in exposing some of my dearly beloved Christian friends to this teaching. The archive is very well put together and is in my "favorites" folder for the Internet. I go here often. I am interested in Preterist publications, and who I can address questions to. thank you daniel@nii.net

Great reading! I've downloaded every HTML document from this site. I've read about ½ of them and I'm very impressed. Still some questions remain, but maybe they are addressed on the material that I have not read yet. Keep up the good work. Six months ago I was not interested in eschatology at all because all the end time schemes seemed forced to me. Preterism seems to be the key that unlocks the impossible lock. It was some years back since I heard of the word Preterist and this just before my introduction to the Reformed position. I'm R. Catholic at the present but thinking of applying to a Presby or CRC denomination. I work as an engineer here in the Philippines and have but just the most rudimentary knowledge regarding the Christian religion. But, by the wonderful grace of God, theology has suddenly been so attractive and appealing to me. This was a far cry from my formerly agnostic position.

I came upon this site and frankly was quite surprised at the assertions being made here particularly that of the suggestion that all prophecies mentioned in the NT have been fulfilled! I've read D. Chilton's, K. Gentry's, G. North's, G. DeMar's books (all of which have really changed the way I lived) but that didn't prepare me for this! I've scanned the pages and downloaded the same. However, you understand, as I am not a trained theologian and what with the utter slowness of the Web in this part of the world, I would like to know of the Preterist's view of the Final Judgment (I'm a postmil) and I was hoping you could send me some snippets regarding the issue or maybe references to it.

Thank you all and by the way, I appreciate your work very much.

To God be the glory! Brando

The Preterist Archive is the most extensive, well organized source of Preterist information on the Net! It's an invaluable resource to those of us who love and seek the truth! I have believed for many years, due to input from a couple of ministers that I heard years ago, and then through my own continued study on the subject, that the kingdom of God is here today, that the inheritance promised to us as believers is ours today, and that the return of Christ is not a future but a past event. To be able to read the many informative, well researched articles on this site is a great blessing, and is helping fill in many gaps in my understanding. The amount of truth we can discover if we exchange and share ideas and insights is amazing. Thank you!

I don't know if you would call me a Preterist or a semi- Preterist. I believe that all prophecy was fulfilled by the destruction of Jerusalem in 70 A.D., but I do not rule out the possibility of a further, greater fulfillment in the future. In any event, it is good to have an alternative to the dispensational teaching that seems to clutter up the web.

Shalom, I have browsed through site. Looks very interesting. I am a partial Preterist. I believe that there are two stages that take place. Tanakh speaks of One day as 1,000 yrs. There has been aprox. 2,000 yrs = 2 days. According to Torah, when a worker was done at the end of that work day he was to be given his wages. I believe that at the end of the first 1,000 yrs.(one day) the believers (workers) received wages. I feel that we are coming to the end of 2nd day, again to receive wages. Not enough space or time to go into this in great detail. It might be something to think about though. Thank you. David.

At last, to know what to give as the answer to "are you pre- post or..."   I have a never heard the term Preterist. Though it makes "gramatical" sense. I was given a copy of The Parousia" by my father a few years before he died with the explanation from him that it "makes sense". He taught me the basics of Greek and Hebrew and set me off on my own. I
just wanted to say thank you for the web site and I look forward to following the links and reading ask my work schedule permits.

It's great to know that your Preterist Archive is reaching around the globe! It is so much needed! So many folks are held captive by traditionalism in Bible interpretation. It is refreshing to witness such supreme dependence on the Bible alone (and not on the uninspired creeds and confessions) in determining what the Scripture would have us believe. So often quoted, but so infrequently believed, is that old principle: "Comparing Scripture with Scripture is the key to a correct hermeneutic." You have some neat ideas on your Web page; keep up the good work for our Lord. May He see fit to bless and expand your ministry. -Walt Hibbard

Brother Todd,

You have created a monster. Being a relatively an 'untechnical' kind of guy I did not really know how to attach things to my mailings. I've received them and know how to access them, but was unknowledgeable about sending them. You told me how, and since then I've learned to send from floppy disc and DIRECTLY FROM THE INTERNET. You have no idea how many messages I've sent, over the past several months, to friends and members of my former congregation to which I associate pastored regarding preterism. I've paraphrased a lot of things I've read, and have had scriptural revelation of many more things which I've shared. BUT NOW I CAN SEND COMPLETE SPECIFIC SECTIONS OF THINGS OFF THE PRETERIST ARCHIVE! PRAISE THE NAME OF JESUS! I have just sent chapter 2 of Philip Mauro's "Hope of Israel" to a Bible teacher (a very knowledgeable one) in response to my newly found 'preteristic' outlook. His "proof" of a physical, natural "coming" of
Jesus (dispensational outlook) was from the book of Zecharia, of which Mauro has an excellent exegisis - as you know.

I have been very sensitive in my communications, especially remembering my own disillusionment when I had to come to grips with all of the imminence scriptures. To be completely honest with you (and them) I did not want to confront them in any way with 'bad' theology or anything based on a faulty hermeneutic.

There is W.A. Jones on the wedsite that has written a book whereby he sees that the "end" times were 'then', but completely missed the parousia. When I wrote him asking a few questions he basically responded by saying that he would "think about revising his book, but for now would leave it the way it was". So I sent him your internet article (one of the best I ever read) and
asked him to pay particular attention to the section on the "second coming". Thank you Todd. Now I am prepared to send complete sections that I can extract directly off the archive.

I want you to know that before June of this year, I was a dispensationalist. I discovered a John L. Bray book "Matthew 24 Fulfilled" and then discovered your web site which changed my entire theological outlook. By the way, I haven't seen any Max R. King on your site. Did I oversee him? He is the most comprehensive, richest, deepest writers on Biblical exegisis I have discovered thus far. I'm sure you must have put him on your site.

Blessings to you. With all love and appreciation, Daniel T. Silvestri  daniel@nii.net

Hi, Todd!

Thanks for your sight. I've grown up more or less historic premillenial. My interest in preterism has been piqued by starting to
read N.T. Wright's "Jesus and the Victory of God." (He was a student of GB Caird's). I'm still researching, but even if I don't end up adopting the whole view, I think I will at least adopt some aspects of it. I do think the destruction of the temple should be viewed as far more important than they are by all eschatological schools. Thanks for your sight - I'll be referring to it often!

This is a great service to those truly seeking biblical truth. the lord blessed me with the Preterist understanding starting in 1990. it is the only way that one can consistently interpret the Parousia of the scripture from a realized eschatology perspective. as I was raised in the roman catholic church with no use of the bible while growing up, I can only contribute my present understanding to "amazing grace". using the same principles of study for understanding the parousia, I, like a few other Preterists, question the literal existence of "satan" or the "devil" as is traditionally taught and believed. i welcome inquiries.

Todd, once again, excellent work. I'm glad you chose to include the fact that other countries visit more than America, perhaps these other countries who are Spiritually Rich will come to the aid of America when it becomes Spiritually and economically bankrupt. Although I must say, I'm not pessimistic, I do see many people Ive known through the years come to the Lord especially in this past year. I also know that the Lord will not abandon America as long as there are REAL BELIEVERS here. Keep up the good work. Behind the scenes there are many good things happening. GOD IS AWESOME!!!! I appreciate your work. I have been a long, long time advocate of the corporate view of eschatology. Though the movement is still in its infancy in the Conservative-Bibliologist (Evangelicals) I know that it is making great strides die to the Internet. Often it is criticized for having its origins in liberal scholarship (Bultmann, Renan, Schweitzer). For a great deal, this is true. The "historical Jesus" movement stemming from Renan's "Life of Jesus" stimulated in the right direction that Jesus and the Gospel were born, in Boman's words, "on Jewish soil." Thus, must rightly be understood in that context. Who says we cannot inherit some of the wicked's scholarship? Their wealth in scholarship is stored for the Righteous as well!

Grace to you my friend,

I want to thank you for letting me know about your site. After studying the material you have there I have been overwhelmingly persuaded that the Preterist position reflects the gospel with much more reality and truth that what I had previously been taught. Your site has answered questions I have had for many years. Questions I had actually been afraid to confront because I felt they were "strange", and possibly even heretical. It was with great relief that I have discovered that these same questions have been asked, and answered, by godly men throughout history and that I don't stand alone with these beliefs.

God bless,

Recently I knew about Preterism by means of a good friend and escellent brother, Jim Hendrix, who is a missionary in Coatepec, Veracruz, Mexico and a full preterist. It is the first time in mi life that I come across with this impressive way to interpret the Scripture. I am very interested in studying carefuly and dig into preterism. I already downloaded a lot of excellent stuff from this web site and am ready to start up reading and studying it. I think that the list of articles ans authors is amazingly complett, covers a lot of Story and it is fair with other preterist positions.

Tank you for the time, efforts, and toils spent on this superb enterprise.

This website has been a valuable tool for me as I have been exposed to the preterist doctrine for the first time in 1998. I was a futurist and did not even know it. I can't say I am a full preterist yet, however, being exposed to the preterist doctrine has opened up a much better understanding of the scriptures to me. Thank you for this website. Dennis L. Todd, I hope you and your family had a wonderful Christmas. Keep up the good work. I start my new job in NYC on 1/4/99. God's providence is awesome! My new job will require me to wear a suit. Well as you know buying suits can be expensive. The Lord worked it out perfectly, I didn't even pray about it, I was just having a conversation with the Lord about how Im going to need at least 5 suits. Well, this past week a friend suggested I go to a good will store which opened recently in my neighborhood. I took her up on it. When I got to the store I picked up 6 Brand new Designer suits for $60.00 dollars. Yep thats right!, each suit only cost me $9.99 each. God is awesome! Life is so much easier when you just give full control to God and then sit back and watch how he operates. In fact most people, Christians included are still under the Illusion they are in charge of their lives when in fact we don't even own our next heartbeat. We are as dependent on God as the sparrows are. As Christ said, apart from me you can do nothing. God Bless and remember, what the mind can conceive and believe GOD CAN ACHIEVE. Cousin Vinnie NY

Greetings Brethren,

I have just recently begun to seaarch the Scriptures to see if these things be true and I must admit there is a great deal to study, but I am "almost a believer". I have received numerous publications from John Bray, Kenneth Gentry,Foy Wallace, Kingdom Publications etc. and have not studied any topic from our Sovereign's Word as intently since I came to a thorough understanding of God's Sovereign Grace in His salvation of His elect. I am trusting Him to lead me in this endeavor and your assistance is greatly appreciated. Please pray for me that I continue to have a teachable spirit and that He will receive all the glory from my training.

By His grace and to His glory,

I had never heard of the Preterist view until I recieved the January Tabletalk magazine. I have been busy ever since looking up the boundaries in which this view lies.

I have never been satisfied with partisan-like representations of the as found in John "the last day." Born of a SBC pastor and being a paid staff member of SBC churches for 12 years, I hear the word rapture and the pre-s and post-s and .... None have even caught a brief peace in my spirit(which I pray moves according to the mind of Christ).

Your website is both impressive and informative. Thanks.

In Christ i am
